Uploaded this plugin as I have used it before and Got a message from www.remarpro.com that this plugin will soon to be deactivated. Went on the website and there was a message from the author 3 years ago that he was no longer going to work with the plugin anymore and turned over the plugin to who??? hopefully not the plugin scammer in the UK that wordfence warns about. This was a good plugin and hopefully something like this will come along again. Authors post

I was able to add my PFD, but at the bottom it says
Download (PDF, Unknown)
How do I remove the Unknown? How do I make the word Download bigger?
Thank you.

This plugin delivers a perfect PDF rendering.
But, I think that the current version have to be patched so that it changes the viewer size according the used device: for instance a height of 500 px is suitable for mobile phones but it seems short for desktop users.
Cordially,

I spent a lot of time testing pdf embedding plugins. This was the only one I found which would enable me to set things up exactly as I wanted them. Very versatile. Thanks

Thanks a lot for developers

I recommend the objects inserting in post can display visually, replace by the shortcode display way currently , when users click the object, can modify it anytime.

Very easy to use, for me and clients!

I’m using Google Doc Embedder in conjunction with Postie (for creating posts from emails), and WP Sanitize file name Plus (to fix weird attachment filenames), and it works like a charm!
Previously I’d fiddle with converting Word, Excel and OpenOffice attachments to PDF before posting, now Google Doc Embedder handles the displaying for me – and it even works fine on mobile devices.
Google Doc Embedder makes my workflow a lot easier. Thanks ??

Sorry Google seems to be making it difficult.
Just get a preview unavailable message and a sign in button for Google.
Won’t work for me that way.

I’m breaking my head to customize the plugin, the CSS that pulls up from the lib-setup.php is specified to the /css directory that the plugin comes in with.BUT for some reason even if you modify the /css/gde-dark changes don’t take effect.
My conclusion digging deep into the code is that the plugin hasn;t been updated lately, It pulls the CSS from Google API. which is hosted on their servers not the users. there is no way…
CSS that the plugin is using is not at my reach? it point to something like rs=AC2dHMIeE-6MbfA2snzxF2ZFrGo5aZcsWg
I just wanted to change the #d1d1d1 background color in the viewer to #FFFFFF aparently if i modify gde-dark changes don’t take effect. The Plugin is using this CSS sheet… which is not hosted on my side…
I think the variables that they use to specify parameters are not friendly user… really complex

This plugin worked great until a few days a go. My issue I am having is with the preview. All of my PDF’s and DOC’s are showing a gray box now with “No preview Available” in the center. All the pdf’s and doc’s are stored in the Media library on WordPress. I am not sure if Google changed something or if it is the plugin itself. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

It really is no good if it doesn’t display a file every time. One needs to constantly refresh pages multiple times for a pdf or other file to display correctly.

Nice plug-in, but it doesn’t prevent a viewer from being able to download/print the document (they can just use the popout feature). The FAQs should be updated.

I tried to use embed a Microsoft Powerpoint file on my intranet site and it didn’t seem to work.
I converted it from a .pptx file to a .ppt and this did not seem to resolve the problem.
I would gladly change my rating if someone provided me some assistance on how to get it to work (I am pretty savvy with computers for the most part, this problem has stumped me).
