Hi,
Our site encountered a critical error this morning (30 June):
An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 58 of the file */public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-opt-out/inc/functions.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function monsterinsights_get_ua_to_output() in */public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-opt-out/inc/functions.php:58
I’m wondering if this is a problem with the “Google Analytics Opt-Out” plugin or one of the MonsterInsights plugins, that our site also uses, and which were updated earlier today? (Note also that Google Analytics is swapping over to GA4 from UA tomorrow 1st July).
Any insight gratefully received!
Hi there,
I’m using Google opt-out plugin with the monster insight plugin and getting this error. Can you please look into this?
Also, Is this issue arise when someone is not using your shortcode?
When a user opts out of GA via this plug-in, does it only apply on the site where they did the opting-out, or is it global for all GA-enabled sites visited using that browser?
And in either case, is the result permanent, as long as they don’t clear their cookies?
Thanks for clarifying.
Please ignore. It is on all pages ??
Is it possible to add a class to the shortcode? I want to style the link created by the shortcode as a button, to match the other buttons on my website. Or is the only way of achieving this by editing the plugin files?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Dan
Hi, can this (eventually) be used with Google Analytics 4 ?
New properties use “measurement IDs”; i.e. G-xxx instead of UA-xxx.

Hi,
Your plugin says that it “Works perfectly together with the Google Analytics by MonsterInsights Plugin.” but on a site I manage, in Site Health, MonsterInsights is saying that there are multiple tracking codes:
We have detected multiple tracking codes! You should remove non-MonsterInsights ones. If you need help finding them please read this article.
When I deactivate Google Analytics Opt-Out the message disappears from Site Health.
Is there any way to resolve this? Is the site being double tracked or not?
Hallo zusammen
Since a couple of weeks (maybe after plugin update and the latest WordPress update) the link to close the banner without accepting cookies is not working. I use this code, where the last part should close the banner:
Vi anv?nder Google Analytics och cookies f?r anv?ndarstatistik. <span style=”color: #ccc;text-decoration: underline”>Se integritetspolicy. Vill du st?nga av Google Analytics [google_analytics_optout]<span style=”color: #ccc;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline”>klicka h?r[/google_analytics_optout]. Eller [google_analytics_optout_close]<span style=”color: #ccc;font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline”>st?ng bannern och till?t cookies.[/google_analytics_optout_close]
Please help.
Since version 2.3.1 the banner div now always has the class “gaoop-hidden” without the user having clicked the “hide” button.
Hence, the banner will never actually be displayed.
Hey there,
I just discussed with the WPML support and figured out my problem is caused by the Google Analytics Opt-Out Plugin that I’m running on the page. While Google Analytics Opt-Out is enabled, the webpage provides an error when changing the languages of the website. The wpml-conif.xml is already installed in the plugin.
Any known reason why this problem could be caused? When having the language-url-format settings in WPML changed to language name as parameter, there is no error.
Hi there, firstly, thx for developing this plugin.
Would it be possible for you to create an option, whereby instead of the “Info” image icon being loaded, you could simply choose html and font awesome css:
https://www.w3schools.com/icons/tryit.asp?filename=tryicons_fa-info-circle
Many people have this stylesheet already loading with their WordPress instances:
https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.4.0/css/font-awesome.min.css
The same question applies to the “close icon” that is being loaded.
Ultimately, it would mean two less server requests being made.
Thx in advance.
Greetings:
Where could I purchase the Opt-Out Pro version?
When I click the link (https://wp-buddy.com/products/plugins/google-analytics-opt-out/) for the Pro version, nothing happens.
Hi,
I think there’s an overlapping issue that’s happening with another plugin of mine. I noticed in Create by Mediavine (plugin) that the Google Analytics Opt-Out banner is appearing in the json printable (preview) page.
If you need a screenshot I’d be more than happy to provide it, just send me an email where you’d like me to send it ??
Cheers,
Ev
I look forward to your reply!
Hello,
since I have installed the lastest WordPress version, the banner for the opt out option doesn’t come up.
No idea what to do now. Please help.

Any ideas? Thx guys.

When enabling your plugin, my flexslider stops working when logged in to wp-admin (it works fine for normal users). I am using the cherry framework with a custom theme.
This is the error.
Uncaught TypeError: $(...).flexslider is not a function
When clicking on the opt-out link nothing happens.
In the browser console I see the following error:
Uncaught ReferenceError: gaoo_handle_optout is not defined
at <anonymous>:1:1
In the plugin settings all checks are green.
Would you have any idea what’s wrong here?
Btw, on your site the shortcut is not resolved.
Hi,
We recently added your plugin to our website https://deida.live
Everything seems to work ok except for the ‘info icon’. When we click it nothing happens.
Is there a way we can link the icon to a page? If yes, where can we add the link?
Thank you.

Hi
I used you plugin on several site, but one with Avda theme do no work.
I’m using:
[google_analytics_optout]Désactiver Google Analytics[/google_analytics_optout]
in this page : https://www.creation-contemporaine.com/mentions-legales
Please look at the red link: ‘Désactiver Google Analytics’ and clicj it, it opens a popup with the full text of this page…
Thanks
This is a great tool, but everytime I need to visit another page to copy the shortcode (I don’t use the visual editor mostly). This would be great!
And there are some typos:
“Monster-Insithgts Plugin wurde gefunden.” -> “Monster-Insights Plugin wurde gefunden.”
“Google Analaytics Opt-Out Pro Pro” -> “Google Analytics Opt-Out”
Why “Pro”? ??
All the best,
Torsten
Hallo,
2. Ich habe leider das Scissors-Symbol nicht.
Alles liebe
Anna
Hi,
thanks for providing this plugin. Works very well for us. It would be great if you could add a possibility to customize the message confirming cookie creation. Right now, in German, the user is addressed informally (“Du”) which is kind of inappropriate on a business website, where everywhere else, the formal salutation (“Sie”) is used. This difference doesn’t exist in English, but it’s common in German, French, Dutch etc.
Cheers,
Jan
Hi,
I’m not so save with CSS.
The snippets I tried didn’t work so what do I have to enter to change the blue backround into this color: #071317 RGB 7/19/23 ?
Thanks,
Mina
