Got it working in no time. Locked meta boxes and hid the screen options button. Hopefully I’ve just made the client’s life 10x easier by arranging meta boxes in a logical order.

Why WordPress doesn’t let you set the default layout out of the box is beyond me.

I appreciate fast installation and configuration.
I’ve set only a few options in my functions.php:

if(is_admin()) {
if (class_exists(‘\GlobalMetaBoxOrder\Config’)) {
\GlobalMetaBoxOrder\Config::$remove_screen_options = true;
\GlobalMetaBoxOrder\Config::$lock_meta_box_order = true;
}
}

In this configuration, it works fine.
