Not sure if there is a fix in the works or if that component is just defunct now. Any thoughts or updates?
]]>Currently the plugin uses register_activation_hook
to check for the required version of Genesis is installed. However, it’s possible to activate Genesis, then the Genesis Tab plugin and then switch to another theme (say Twenty Sixteen). If you’re not using the thumbnail view the tabs continue to work. However, if you are then you’ll get the following error:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_image() in /wp-content/plugins/genesis-tabs/plugin.php:148
I’ve put together a series of patches to fix this:
1) Check for genesis_get_image()
before the function call:
https://gist.github.com/BandonRandon/96341f371dd555d40ffdb7a02d6f6d1b
2) Also run register_activation_hook
on after_switch_theme
https://gist.github.com/BandonRandon/599590d8a6b59ec71ccdbad166491791/fac08fdd40e887d639c009421f5ad8d840caa8b4
3) Change wp_die
to admin_notice
this is a friendly message and works where wp_die
is being filtered by the host/platform
https://gist.github.com/BandonRandon/599590d8a6b59ec71ccdbad166491791/e9b63a1b2c8101cc60f5c7d28208e60f56b1863a
3.1) Same thing but without after_switch_theme
code:
https://gist.github.com/BandonRandon/a51978a14ebb27cbc583a2b6bba79c9a
Hopefully this can help others in the same situation of having trouble switching themes with the plugin in use.

I’m using the Studiopress theme called Daily Dish Pro. I’ve installed and activated the plugin I’ve got a CPT called Music with custom taxonomy (category) called “All Music”. There seems to be no support for this as the category associated with my CPT doesn’t show in the plugin. Any ideas on a workaround?

in the tab settings, the only option it gives me for featured images, is to display them at thumbnail size.
However this does not work for me. Why would it be doing this? And how do I fix it? I’m using Worpdress 3.9, PHP version 5.2.17, Genesis Version 2.0.2, and Dynamik Version 1.5 (this is a sub-theme).

]]>Good Morning,
I encountered an issue in a multisite installation where posts on a sub-site were not being displayed on the home page (using Genesis Featured Post widget) or on the archive pages for each category.
After reaching out for support through StudioPress, I received a response suggesting that I disable all network plugins and reactivate them one-by-one to potentially isolate the problem. In doing so, I discovered that Genesis Tabs and FeedWordPress were causing the posts to disappear. Once Genesis Tabs was deactivated and reactivated, everything suddenly came back. But when FeedWordPress was reactivated at the sub-site level, the posts disappeared again.
To further compound things, I’m using FeedWordPress on the primary site along with Genesis Tabs without issue (primary site uses News Pro theme). On the subsite, Genesis Tabs is not activated because the theme doesn’t require it (Metro Pro), yet that is where the compatibility issue is occurring.
I’m well aware of the potential for different plugins to not play nicely together, but because everything works fine on the primary network site, but not on one of the sub-sites, I’m wondering if there might be a bug in Genesis Tabs?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts or feedback!

I would very much like the “active” (or “current”) state and the “hover” state to be identical so that it is much more apparent when first coming to the site that those are, indeed, tabs.
Thank you for your consideration.
]]>Hello Ron,
I’m considering using the re-released, mobile responsive News theme, and it calls for Genesis Tabs plugin, which I see hasn’t been updated in ~2 years. What will be the fate of this plugin, especially in light of WP 3.6+ and Genesis 2.0. Any likelihood of keeping it current? Or could you recommend a substitute (if at all necessary)? Please advise. Thanks.
Regards, Jeff.
]]>Ever since I updated to the last release of WordPress before 3.6, the Genesis Tabs plugin has been acting funny. In the Middle and Bottom sections, it works PERFECTLY. On the top sections where different categories for different kinds of posts are, it does not show up.

Take a look and see. You will find tabs where they should be where the posts should go. However if you click on the tab or rollover them, nothing happens. It’s like they are there but they are not. For my readers, it’s not working out and I’m losing interest quickly.
