On a Genesis site, Britlish.com, the plugin works exactly as described right out of the box.

… but it seems to only support child pages in one layer (1. generation). Sub-sub-pages are not supported when “child pages” are clicked.

You can create a sidebar, but it won’t get added to the page.

Really wish I could give a better review. After a lot of testing for plugin conflicts, this simply does not do anything.
No matter what I tried, I could make the sidebars but they would never show up on the page. I’d select the new sidebar, add some widgets to it just in case, but only my original “Primary Sidebar” would show up. When I go into Customize, it only shows and lets me edit the primary sidebar. Tested on multiple pages.
I provided screen shots and as much as I could in the support area and am not making this review until after I waited for a month with very little reply from support until things just went cold. It’s been a week since my last poke on the post.
I understand it seems to work for a lot of people, just not us.

Thank you so much for making this easy. I burned way too many hours messing around with this nonsense in codelandia.

Excellent stuff, works perfect and it’s easy for clients (and for me) to manage the different custom sidebars. Big thanks,

I spent about 10 minutes getting this plugin installed and set up. SO incredibly easy and now running custom sidebars on my site. Uses the widget function which I am super familiar with in the Genesis ecosystem.

Perfect way to get custom sidebars working with my genesis sites.

We’re using to display different ads and promotions selected on a per post basis.
Easy to use: Just make the new sidebar under the Genesis tab, add stuff to it in the widgets area and then select the sidebar to display when you write your post.

Thanks! This plugin, in combination with Sidebar Menu Widget, was just what I needed to make a flexible section-specific set of sidebar menus. ??

Downloaded, installed, and created a custom sidebar. Then using the Black TinyMCE text widget I inserted images, text and buttons as content. The sidebar works like a champ.
Genesis Simple Sidebars makes life much easier because you can build a custom side bar and assign it at the page/post level.
Just wish I had discovered this plugin earlier

This plugin saved me hours of handcoding! It’s easy enough to use that my client can even do edits on his own! Thanks!

I needed to display different subscribe forms in the side bar depending upon which pages of the site the visitor was viewing. I used this plugin to solve that problem quickly and easily. (Like, within 5 minutes.)
Kudos to the plugin developers!

We use this on every Genesis site we develop, pushing 100 so far. Thank you 100x and counting!

If you are looking to customize certain pages, posts or even categories – spice it up with it’s own sidebar. This is very easy to install and use. I use it on most of the sites I develop.

I’m new to WordPress and while trying out various plugins, I’m finding some are very intuitive and/or have good documentation on how to use them and others are lacking.
This plugin is very intuitive and works great, thank you!

As described it adds a nice, simple interface for creating sidebar widgets.

When using Genesis and its child themes, this is one of the most flexible plugins I recommend. Love the fact that one can compliment your page or post with a custom sidebar, rather than carry the same one through your entire site… love this!
