I installed this today, then went to configure it. The settings appeared momentarily, before the page refreshed and the only options I was left with was a save settings button.
The plugin appears to be broken.
I tried de-activating/re-activating, and un-installing/re-installing. No joy.
I am using the current Genesis Framework (2.6.1) and Child Theme (2.6.0).

Sadly, had to disable this plugin, as it loaded jquery multiple times and completely broke my site’s mobile menu. ??

I am baffled out of two reasons
1) The name “Responsive Slider” when this slider is clearly not responsive as it drops the excerpt box on small screens.
2) The fact that an incomplete feature like this is being used in a paid child theme to the Genesis theme
I am now working to maintain the box when the screen is resized. The Excerpt needs to be re-centered and optimized. This should have been done by the guys who built this in order to deserve the title “responsive” slider.

I was looking for a slider for my Genesis child theme and this one did my job.

Works alright, but I had to make few adjustments to the CSS sheet.
The most important is for better image presentation, modify the string “max-width:100%” under “.flexslider .slides img” to “width:100%”, then it won’t stick to the left uncropped.
I would have like more personnalisation options but it’s a simple enough code you can easily modify by yourself.

The admin functionality is fine, but compared to really good responsive sliders, such as Meta Slider, it just doesn’t do it. Title alignment is cut off if you use excerpts, there’s no smart cropping of the image, if you don’t use excerpts, the title looks ok until you are at a mobile device viewport, then it’s floating up and outside its container. I won’t even get into the thick grey border.

The pagination links (arrows and bullets) don’t do anything – why even have them?
The silly excerpt bar cuts off half of your image because it floats on the left over the image instead of just having the image sectioned on the right and it on the left
There’s no excerpt in the mobile version, so the image you resized for the desktop version now looks stupid, and people just see pictures with no reason to tap on them
I think something used in a demo for a paid theme should at least have the features all other sliders have, or at least some options so people don’t have to screw around with the CSS.

Not at all happy with genesis team, not updating since 3.3.3

The idea is great, but…
– In Firefox there are artifacts https://imgur.com/tD3EVVf
– There is no way to select posts for slider with simple checkboxes without creation of a separate category or tag
– The slider is not responsive indeed (just change browser window width and get scared by what you see)

I love this plugin. Can you make a change though? When using pages in the slider, it would be easier to choose the pages and order them, without having to get the page number. Also, with version 4.3.1 the comma spacing of the pages means nothing for the order in which they appear on slider. Ordering by date seems to be the only way I can control this, but the date order is from most recent to oldest. A bit more customization would be appreciated for page options. thank you!

This is a great plug-in … thank you!

Not *exactly* as advertised. You say, “The slideshow is also responsive and will automatically adjust for the screen it is being displayed on.” But you don’t say that it drops the display content on small screens, eg. smart phones. I would say that the slides, then, are responsive only partially.
When I approached your help folks, they said, “The child theme has code that is hiding the excerpt for the slider on mobile devices since the text needs to be so small to display correctly on mobile. You can edit the child themes style.css file and remove the code that is hiding the excerpt, but you will also need to add code to reduce the size of the text so it displays correctly.”
So, not 100% responsive without editing the code. Bummer.

This plugin is perfect: light and simple. But I can’t use it since I need to show images not related to posts/pages.

I’ve tried this several times. Recently with executive Pro child theme. The thing looks good until I load the page on my iPad Mini. Landscape works half the time and portrait never. Settings dont seem to have exact control on smaller screens. Too bad because on most screens it works fine. Ive moved on to a paid solution that is no headaches.

Like that I can choose to feature posts or pages, very cool!

Genesis itself is a great platform. I’m using the Executive Pro theme and I’m using this plugin for my homepage slider. (You can see mine slider at 3DForged.com.)
I did have a little trouble sorting the posts in the order I wanted them to show up, but ultimately I solved the problem by using the ‘sort by date’ option.
Overall, excellent plugin and I was able to edit it to fit the style of my site!

A must for my Genesis sites.
I wish there where a few more features to choose from, but I do love the simplicity of this plugin so maybe it’s fine just the way it is ??

This still works great for Genesis users. It’s simple and easy to use.

Installed plugin but it doesn’t show up in my wp admin menus!!!

The most crucial functionality is broken, making this slider plugin pretty annoying to work with…
Even though you set a character limit the plugin ignores this and shows either to little or to much text.
This is not acceptable.

Excellent free responsive slider solution for Genesis.

Pulls f.e. subpage-content (with excerpt, title or limited content) or post of one featured category on frontpage. Also nice as a simple narrow Text-Ticker for news.

While it looks good there are elements in it that isn’t designed to work on smaller screen such as phones. This makes it hard to use if you want the slider to have a functional role on your site.

This is a must-have. Works and looks great, with plenty of settings to adjust on the backend.
