Sadly, installing this added nothing at all. As in …. nothing. An admin panel with an opportunity to enter the subscription code ….. and that’s it. Tried getting support and got an AI chatbot. Not helpful. Finally was able to get a human via chat who asked what our domain was, and didn’t see us in some list. I sent screenshots of our products in the backend at their site, and the subscription code entered on our site ….. and he disappeared. can’t get a human today.
I spent four hours yesterday and today on behalf of my client …. for nothing. I’m advising client to get their money back.

Current version is nice and we recently used in couple of client sites but We wish they increase development and start adding more features so we can achieve advanced layouts too.

A user installed this plugin on my network without install_plugins
capabilities via StudioPress’s Genesis theme. Today, I got notified that a security fix had been committed for one of the plugins on my network.
I inspected the security fix, and practically, a user was permitted to install this backdoor. No wonder it got 100k+ installs while being a most obscure addition to WordPress.
The Genesis theme also installed a couple of Awesome Motive plugins via this, a company that goes against everything WordPress that I wouldn’t dare to touch with a 10-foot cable. They do this via genesis_do_onboarding_pack_selection()
, which checks for manage_options
, not install_plugins
or is_super_admin()
, allowing anyone to hijack an open WordPress Multisite network.
I reported these security issues to them two years ago, but obviously, they still haven’t been resolved. They show no care about your website.
Moreover, this plugin pollutes the global namespace with functions like is_heading()
(without a namespace). I don’t know who StudioPress is hiring nowadays, but the senior developers are long gone since its merger with WP Engine.
Amateurs.
You shouldn’t have ignored my previous calls, so enjoy this stain on your record.

I like their blocks but when they upgraded from atomic to genesis I had to change all the blocks for each articles. It took me hours

I’m so impressed with how smooth and intuitive Genesis Blocks is. Best page builder I’ve tried. Five stars!

Saved my time when using Gutenberg editor at Genesis theme on my WordPress website.

OK I tried 3/4 of the major critically praised block systems out there, and stupidly I should have just tried the one that was already installed – Genesis Blocks – cos it just works.
It’s simple compared to the fanciness of Spectra or Kadence, but Kadence kept crashing my page and giving errors, and Spectra have decided to make their Accordion block a ‘FAQ Block’ and not allow you to add your own paragraphs in (???) and not tell anyone, least of all the WP info page….I deleted it in disgust. Don’t advertise ‘Accordion blocks’ and then not provide them….
And Essential Blocks just didn’t work; the content overlaid when re-collapsed, even on a simple FSE child theme of Automattic’s 2023! Which is as standard as a theme gets, really.
But Genesis might not have all the fancy styling (which in the case of Spectra those default styles overrode my theme CSS, even when set to system default, annoyingly, including ignoring the heading styles?!) but Genesis just happily uses the body typeface, and you can add CSS and it’s simple to modify the default classes, they make sense.
So +1 to Genesis vs the bloaty big boys.

Worked great for the last couple of years but crashes my sites if I attempt to upgrade PHP to 8.0.
I’ve tried different themes, including the Genesis Sample theme with the same result.

<p>I thought StudioPress was reputable developers, but no. This plugin is not correctly internationalized and is not compatible with multilanguage sites. A shame really.</p>

I created the blocks using the documentation, tried several ways, but never worked, the plugin never retrieved the data.

These blocks have improved the way I managed and created elements in my website. It’s pretty neat, and it expands what you can do in Gutenberg : )

The blocks available with this have proven really useful and well designed. Discovering this helped me to understand and better appreciate the changes going on with Genesis Framework.

I’ve been using the Sharing block, and it seemed to be working OK. I recently changed my domain and the block has disappeared from all pages, although its still visible on the admin view of pages. I tried to contact support, but that seems impossible for the free version of Genesis.

Forced to migrate from Atomic Blocks to Genesis blocks, however the migration provided does not work and there is zero support when requested.

good plugin

Earlier I was disappointed that my support ticket got closed too quickly without a proper solution for the issue I reported was offered. Since then things were talked out and later on Anita (a Genesis Genius) even came up with a solid workaround to my issue.
Genesis Blocks is (as the successor of Atomic Blocks) offers really nice blocks and the layout selector User Interface (full of block patterns )is unmatched and even better than the default pattern selector of Gutenberg.

Go go go StudioPress!!!

The cool thing about this plugin is that it’s all using the WordPress core platform. So instead of adding an entirely new editor, this works hand-in-hand with WordPress’s Gutenberg Block Editor.
While the other add-on editors like Elementor, Divi, BeaverBuilder, etc. are very robust and build grand-lovely pages, keep in mind that WordPress Blocks is still only at it’s infancy and Genesis Blocks is also just getting started. The future looks exciting for these two products and their possibilities.

Special Thanks to Studiopress! It is a nice edition before the use of the Genesis Pro page builder. I have created my own website blogging website within the last two days by genesis sample and Genesis Blocks. It’s ab columns and Accordion is my most favorite. definitely pre-designed sections and layouts are awesome.

This plugin adds some handy individual blocks (advanced columns and the pricing table are my favorite). I also like the pre-designed sections and layouts made up of both WP Core blocks and Genesis Blocks. Great for laying out nice page designs quickly.
