Hi @billerickson and @garyj – this plugin still works marvelously on WordPress 6.2, but it’s getting flagged as abandoned by Wordfence, and also on the plugin page itself.
Could either of you update the “Tested up to” version for us please? ??

]]>The title of the page still says “page not found” how can I change this?
]]>Hello. I downloaded the plugin and it works. However, I wanted a custom background image. My site developer has a tutorial on how to do this- by adding the following code to the “additional css.”
.error404 {
background: #fff url(your image url here) top center fixed no-repeat;
background-size: cover;
}
Unfortunately, this isn’t working and neither is any variation of css that I’ve tried. Her tutorial is from 2016 and in the past few months she sold her little company to a bigger one that only helps if I pay. I’d appreciate some guidance.

I’m getting scan alerts that this plugin has been altered since it was installed: specifically, a “tests” folder added and inside that folder test-test.php. Are these normal files in the functioning of the plugin or a sign of a problem?
Thank you
I have been happily using Genesis 404 Page for several years and would like to continue to do so. However, today I had the following alert from Wordfence:
The Plugin “Genesis 404 Page” appears to be abandoned (updated 2017-10-10, tested to WP 4.9.11).
Is it safe to stick with this plugin or should I be looking for an alternative?
With thanks to the developers.
]]>Using Genesis 3.0, WordPress 5.2.2 and Infinity Pro theme. Something strange appears to be happening. The custom 404 page (entered into your plugin) is rendering correctly but it is also including the default 404 page content at the bottom. Basically a page with two lots of content on it.
As an aside, creating a custom 404.php page and placing that into the theme no longer works (i.e. not using your plugin but doing it directly) now creates a wordpress error “this site is experiencing technical difficulties”.

]]>I always use this plugin, and now I wonder if the 404 page can also be shown when a search returns zero results. Would be nice to add a few options on that page, including the search form so visitors can try again if they want to.

]]>Hi there!
First of all, thanks for your work! And I’m not talking only about this plugin, but your blog, your code snippets, etc…
My question is, ?could you prepare the plugin to translated? I’m working with the WordPress community in Spain, and I’m doing a “Genesis Campaign” to translate all the plugins related with the framework.
Thanks again for your work Bill!!
]]>Thank you for your plugin! I don’t want any search function, nor any site map to show in the 404 page. Your solution suits me perfect.
I have a custom body class named fixed-footer that I can easy add to all other pages with too little content for the footer to stay fixed at the bottom, but I don’t get how to apply this class to my plug-in generated 404 one. Could you please tell how?

Hi @billerickson and @garyj,
The WordPress repository and Wordfence mark your plugin as “abandonned”. As I use it for years and still love it, I want to know if you still support and update your plugin and if it can be used safely, or if it is really abandonned.
Thanks.
Theme : Genesis Enterprise Pro
The plugin works as intended and I am very happy to use it on my site. There is one minor issue though. The border margin around the generated 404 page on mobile phones does not conform to the theme settings. Is there a media query setting to adjust the border margins?
Thanks.

Is this plugin Working fine with the latest Worpress 4.7.5 and Genesis 2.5.0?
Hi Bill

]]>Just created a dandy 404 page with this plugin, but as you can see my related posts plugin is appearing on this page. I don’t want this.
The related posts plugin (Yuzo) says: “Not appear inside:Write for ID separated by commas “,” Posts you want to Yuzo not appear (You can also disable within the Post, it appears to clear Yuzo at that specific post)”
Which makes me think I need the ID, but I can’t find the ID. Please help. Thanks.
]]>Hi,
I found that the plugin does not redirect .html pages that do not exist to the custom 404 page set through the plugin.
Eg:
https://chillibreeze.com/this_page_is_not_on_your_site.html
is directing to the default 404 instead of the custom 404 page like these:
https://chillibreeze.com/thdsfafasfrdfasfl
Can you please show me how to direct non-existing pages to the custom genesis 404 page?
Thanks

I’m using the plugin ‘Genesis Title Toggle’. It’s not working together with the 404-page-plugin. Is there a way disable the title, other then manually editing the plugin-function ‘loop_xhtml’?

]]>Hi,
I am trying to set a get and an alert in Google Analytics in order to know if the number of 404 errors increase in my site, but I cannot find any specific url.
I use a Genesis theme and I tought to naturally use this plugin, but it doesn’t seem to redirect to one single 404 url but keeps the bad url and display the 404 page.
Is there any way you can suggest in order to monitor the inscreasing of 404 error or I must top to use the plugin?
Thanks a lot!

Hi Bill –
I’m using Outreach Pro.
Unfortunately I can’t get your plugin to work.
I previously installed a plugin called 404page (which didn’t work) and deleted it.
I assume this means there is a 404 page in the system somewhere. What do I do about that? (Please advise.)
I really want to use yours as it sounds exactly what I am looking for.
]]>I can translate the admin strings, but is it possible to translate the title and content using WPML?
]]>Hi
After working well in the past for the past year so so the 404 plugin will only show to heading/page title I specify.
It won’t show the custom content but rather leaves it blank.
