Hi there,
I’m just trying to get some clarity on something relating to bbcode support with the GD bbPress Tools plugin.
I’ve been testing a few of the bbcode options and, of course, things work perfectly fine within bbpress. I’m also looking for something that works with the default WordPress comments system as well.
I’ve unticked the option for “Limit to bbpress only”, but on my site at least, that doesn’t seem to do the trick which suggests I need to do a bit more work. There do appear to be a few plugins that allow this, however they haven’t been updated in over a decade or more so while they might work, I’m hesitant to use them if the plugins are no longer being maintained.
I just wanted to see if there’s a way you can recommend this to work?
]]>Hello,
I am encountering a problem with the Quote function in the TinyMCE Editor. When I press the button, the cursor positions itself inside the quote rather than after it. It seems like this issue causes less experienced users to inadvertently write their entire post within the quote.
Thanks for your support in advance!
]]>In for example “Topics View: Topics by freshness” the title of the page is written out in the page header. It seem like it gets the page title, and then prints this above the list of fresh topics.
On my site it become something like this:
“Topics View: Topics by freshness | My site Tag lines From the Seo Framework”
This is very long, it would be sufficient with only “Topics View: Topics by freshness”
Is there a way to change the title of these pages from within your plugin?

Unfortunately the plugin does not recognize bbcode links without quotation marks around the url.
Even nested bbcode is not recognized. In the following example, the link is neither converted correctly nor displayed in bold. Could this be improved?

It’s only a warning but should we ignore it? Your advice would be appreciated.

First I used the plugin My WP Translate (Loco Translate conflicts with some other plugin and doesn’t work for me).
It creates a po-file. I created then with Windows Poedit into mo format and renamed it as gd-bbpress-tools-fi.mo and I transfer it to the plugin folder and general language folder. But the file doens’t do anything.
There is still “Orree wrote” even if I traslated it into Finnish as “vastasi”.
Is the file name wrong or the pugin can’t lokalize?

I received the following error message when trying to save changes I’d made to a user account on my site:
When I first updated php to version 8, it wasn’t a problem but when I downgraded the php back to 7.4, the error message went away.
Please advise, thank you.
]]>I Just upgraded to the latest GD bbPress Toolbox PRO version 7.0.3 and went through the setup Wizard which I really liked, Great stuff there. Added the Formatting Menu to add links and as an ADMIN I was able to link a Keyword phrase, however as a USER named Island Hopper the Linking Feature gives me an Error not available at this time. So I’m not sure if there is a setting to enable users to LINK keywords or add a URL. Any help is appreciated with this.

I need GD bbpress as there does not appear to be another plugin that does the specific needs that I have from it. It seems to have developed a global issue as when the plugin is added to a test site the same error occurs. It is not a huge deal but starting to get annoying with an email every morning telling me that the same issue is still there and it may crash my site:

I am getting notices by email of a problem on my site due to WordPress catching an error on this plugin. When I go to my own profile page when logged in, at the bottom it says “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” But the email only says there was an error in the plugin, not what it was or how to resolve it.
When I disabled the plugin, and tried to edit my profile pic, I got a “forbidden” error. With the plugin enabled, there is no “update profile” at the top, under the profile pic.

I am in the process of moving over from a phpBB message board and will eventually be importing all those users.
One fear I have is the default setting within Buddy Press that has all email notifications are set as “YES”. So when I import all the users and start using the bbPress message board (w/Buddy Press) all of those users will be getting a ton of emails unless they all go in and change their notifications to “NO”. Yes, active users can manually change this. But less active users will start getting notifications on replies and what not that they never wanted.
My question for anyone that has upgraded to GD bbPress Toolbox PRO is if I can default all of those notifications to “NO”? I see there are features for the PRO version that mention the “Notifications”, but I need a bit more info on if this could solve my problem.
Thanks!

Hello,
I’ve just upgraded my WP to the latest version and it seems that at least the signature part is broken :

Here is the source of the page :

The fielset bbp-form password is strange, when I remove it, it’s ok.
Is it only me ?

I think this is the right forum to use. I have several of your bbPress plugins so I am not sure! Please see:
It would be nice if this menu structure could support going one level deeper?
For example, each of those “Forums” have sub forums. It would be nice if I could navigate straight to that forum. Just a nicety …!
