Everything went smoothly with the download and the installation. It looks great on the site. I’m using about 38 characters in the message and 20 on the button. It looks great on the pc monitor. Sadly the bar doesn’t resize to fit the smartphone on portrait orientation. The bar becomes useless this way because the customer cannot see the call to action button. I will have to uninstall, sadly. Otherwise beautiful and easy to customize. But useless for mobile.

I’ve used this on a couple of websites now and it always looks great. Needs turning off for mobile though, if you’ve got more than a few words on the bar. But that’s no issue, as there’s a handy button to turn it to desktop only mode. Great, simple, effective.

I’ve installed GC Message Box on my Genesis responsive theme (News Pro) and it works just great.
The mobile view just needs fewer characters in the total message to align properly. (41 total vs 67 total in the desktop view).
Other than keeping the text length in mind for mobile users everything else is straightforward.
For anyone who is not a theme developer this gets the job done. Many thanks to the plugin developers. Their support is also great.

I used this plug-in for over a year withs success – I only used the bar options, not all of the sticky options, tracking and analytics on their website.
When I started to clean-out my DB and wp_options table I found that this plug-in made 60 entries! Way more than any other plug-in I’m running. Each time wordpress runs it has to load and read all of this crud.
I deleted the plug-in but still had to delete all of the entries. I used “Clean Options” and removed all of the entries this plug-in left that started with “gc_message_bar_” Here is a list of them:

I usually get about 20-50 new user registrations per week, using this bar that number jumped to 200 per week. Great tool, and now that it has been recently updated great features, too!
I can not show it to registered users (makes no sense to ask them to register if they are) AND choose how much time between the closing of the dialog I want it to show up again for un-registered users (I chose one week or 168 hours).
Totally customizable design, too!
