This used to be a great plugin and I used it extensively on my website. However, in late 2023, they arbitrarily decided to remove a key feature from the free version and start charging for it. The feature was the ability to have a link in gallery images that would take you to a larger version of the image, or another page with more information about the image. Those links no longer work. They claim that they notified users and offered a discount before doing that, but I received no such notification and even if I had, I consider it unacceptable. Now my website is completely broken. I no longer trust them and neither should you. This is essentially a bait-and-switch to force you to buy their pro version after investing hundreds of hours in creating a website with their free version.

This plugin worked pretty well, if a bit wonky, for quite a while. Suddenly it lost a very basic function (enlarging gallery items on click) and tell me that I need to upgrade to Pro to retain that feature! Looking for a new gallery plugin…

Until now I used this plugin and it was very good. I had galleries set up with images that you could link to another page on my website, which was really useful. Now this option and some more have been transferred to the PRO version. I’m not going to pay what the plugin costs just to have the option to add a link to my photos.
Do you want more money? Well, the result is that they have already lost one user and many more that they are going to lose.

Feature of the plugin is not bad. Need lots of time to trial and error to get it right. Q&A and Tutorial is useless. Too quick to ask for Paid Subscription without letting users trial what the Paid Subscription offers. Better off doing away with the Step-by-Step Tutorial and focus on improving the Q&A. Useless beautifying when it brings minimal value-added good. Before starting Paid Subscription, why not allow users 1 or 2 weeks trial before Paid Subscription commence?

Just spent the better part of a week troubleshooting Supsystic Photo Gallery plugins using the Pro version. It was a confounding experience to say the least. There are a several layout and other options that will result in the galleries being invisible on modern WP cores and PHP versions. Support is lacking (“we can’t see the problem on our end”) and in the end, much had to be rebuilt from scratch.
Links are hard coded (changing the link for a given image apparently does nothing, even after rebuilding caches) so if you are fixing mixed insecure content or migrating from another domain, you have your work cut out for you.
I don’t like posting negative reviews but I don’t like wasting time on poorly written plugins either, especially after paying for the “Pro” version.

Paid almost $50 for the Pro version of the plugin. Ran into an issue and emailed support and the management team, but received no reply a week later. Will never recommend this plugin to anyone, and will never purchase another license from Supsystic.
Seems like their canned response is “Unfortunately, there was a problem in our ticket system and the ticket was lost. Please write to us again and we will try to solve the problem as soon as possible.”
Are you guys constantly having issues with your ticket system? Sounds like a copout to me …

It would be nice if t could be made to work properly. I don’t like the swivel caption effect in the grid, but after choosing a different effect on one image, not even in preview would it display. Then- had it worked- changing the effects for all images would be a pain.

I cannot recommend this plugin because the company behind it has terrible support which you’ll likely need. I paid for the gallery plugin. Looks great but wasn’t loading every time on the page. About 40% reliable so not at all usable for a professional site. Put in a support ticket 6 weeks ago and was assured there would be someone on the case. Got a response first saying what it might be and I assured them it wasn’t that as the feature wasn’t enabled. Haven’t since had a single update on this as to what is going on. I can’t imagine treating my paying customers like this.
