Experiencing a very odd issue with the frontpage slideshow, hoping you can assist?

The slideshow renders fine in Chrome and Firefox (haven’t recently tested Safari); but in Internet Explorer (IE 10 in our tests) it’s showing up as double the specified 400px height, with the bottom half completely dark (presumably set as the background color).

The slideshow is called as “[FrontpageSlideshow]” if that helps.

This is much worse on slower / older browsers, particularly IE, but does seem to happen in all of them.

Does anybody know how this can be prevented please? I’ve tried playing with various CSS visibility parameters but nothing has worked so far, I guess the JavaScript might need a tweak?

Hello,

All of a sudden the admin options don’t function anymore. I can see the page, but the different option categories (disable the plugin etc.) don’t drop down when clicked on it.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

Im using the shortcode to display frontpage slideshow on my homepage(not a static page). After disabling all pligins and re-activating individually i found the plugin “the events calendar” to be the culprit. when this plugin is enabled my slideshow doesnt show.

how can I get these two plugins to play together?

Hello when I tried to open the “Options” panel on WP I got this message after waiting about 60 seconds

i have a problem,
i want to inplement front page slide show but it doenst work, it works fine in the backend.
but when iam trying to implement it on the front page all i get to see is the title and a pricture.

wonder if you can help? I have created a new template PHP file. I copied the default into a new folder and made some CSS amends. However, this then prevents you being able to access wordpress and the site fails to load in any browsers. The only output is 3 characters (which I believe is somnething to do with charset=utf-8 settings?

All I did was change the word ‘bold’ top normal and I used textpad to do it and ftp it back up to the new template folder in the plugin area.

I hope all this makes sense? Works fine when I replace my slightly amended template file with the default again.

Hi there,
I would really like to have the link button on the slides completely cover the images, but it only does half of the slide image. It looks bad and kinda confusing because the gal who do this prior made the graphic image with a thing that looks like a button on the image and it’s just a hair our of the link box. Please help!

Hey there, I hope this hasn’t been asked before, but everything I was able to find was either french or russian, which aren’t the languages I’m best at *cough cough*

So here comes my problem: I’m using your slideshow on WP 3.2.1 and it actually works perfectly fine except that first clicking the news in the slideshow doesn’t redirect me to the featured post, and secondly whenever the slideshow switches the first news a thumbnail-picture of one of the news appears, just like that. In the preview on the plugin-settings this doesn’t happen. Changing the ‘kind’ of transition doesn’t solve the problem as well. I’m really not good at this stuff and hope that you can help me.

Hey all. I’m trying to change the text color on my side buttons to white, but they stick to whatever my default bulleted text color is. If I change the bulleted text color to white it looks correct, but all of my bulleted text disappears into the white background. Is there a way to fix this? I’ve read that some people changed their theme in some way to make it work, but not how they did it. Any help would be appreciated.

Frontpage Slideshow is the best damn slider for WordPress hands down. The only issue I have is that I can’t get it to display- even after disabling all plugins and trying both the short-code as well as the option that would have it appear on a static page.

The slider works fine in the preview- but when I try otherwise, all I see is code appearing on my main page and my featured posts all jumbled up in such a messy way.

Yesterday I installed WP-minify. Today I found that frontpage slideshow was not correctly rendered: images and text were shown in a list instead of a slideshow.
I suspect it happens because of the js minification. Now I tried to put the 2 files, jquery-ui-interactions.js and jquery-ui-effects.js among the ones excluded from minification. Is there something else I can do to avoid this problem?

In the past I had the same problem after installing W3 Total Cache, which also does minification. How can I have W3 Total Cache and Frontpage Slideshow working together?

I’m using the latest version of Frontpage-Slideshow on my site. Everything looks great in Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

In Internet Explorer, the images are pushed down by various amounts, so there’s a gap between the top of the slideshow window and the top of the picture. It looks like the top edge of the images are aligning with either the top edge of the second button or the fourth button.

I use the last version of frontpage slideshow.
When the home is loaded, the slideshow doesn’t load images and causes a js error, until I refresh the page.

With firebug console I saw that 3 images are not found even when slideshow works (next.png prev.png and loading_black.gif). It’s strange because I an see them with FTP… But I’m not sure it is the reason why the slideshow doesni’ loads properly.
I reinstalled the last version of the plugin but it’s the same thing.
Can you help me Jeff ?

While I have nothing against someone wanting to make it easier to help those who ask for assistance, the plugin as it is gives you no choice in the matter of whether to send this information. Furthermore automatically collecting emails I’m pretty sure is a big no-no for wordpress plugins, collection of other info aside. I’m not sure why you would need to collect emails in the first place as that would be supplied by anybody contacting you.

If you want to make it easy to pass the details of a users installation/version info you could append that to any support links that would pre-populate a support form when clicked.

Also FYI the contact site you list as “modulaweb.fr” in the top getting help box incorrectly links to modulawab.fr

I didnt know this problem until my friend told me when he tested some code.

I take it by login on account with author role, all role can see this option.
To fix this error, i have put
if (current_user_can('manage_options')) { } in function frontpageSlideshow_admin_menu() {
And add this code before add_action('admin_menu', 'frontpageSlideshow_admin_menu'); if ( is_admin() )
So it’ve been like that

I’m loving this plugin. It’s easy to use and perfectly serves my needs except for one thing; i need a way to pause on hover. What would be the best method for implementing that?

Ive played with the settings and ive made all the images smaller in size but cant seem to lose it. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

I wanted to move somethings around though and I am having a hard time figure out what goes where in the template.php. Basically, I just wanted to move the slide comment zone down below the images instead of sitting on top. IS this possible? I was looking through template.php and wasn’t able to find the style for that Div. Any help would be great.

Hello to all – first let me say this plug is wonderful and has been working great – I wanted to know something that maybe incredibly simple, and yet I imagine it is incredibly complex in retrospect.

I am using the slideshow and I want the images to slide on left and off right with NO FADE. However, I have no fade selected in the settings and it fades off right. I have buttons and I do see that it says that when using buttons the effects are buggy. But I was hoping someone would have a solution to this?!
