Fotobook worked great for our page until recently.
Step 1 & Step 2 of the authentication process deliver the following FB error in the poup:
App Not Setup: The developers of this app have not set up this app properly for Facebook Login.
Step 3 results in the following error within WordPress:
Unable to activate account: Invalid parameter
I’m not sure, however, I think FB has changed their login policy and Fotobook does not work anymore. I’m also aware, that you don’t maintain your plugin anymore, however, our service club would appreciate it, if you could fix this ?? Is there any chance you could fix the plugin?

]]>I was looking for another plugins to solve the fact that this one is no longer mantained. But, sincerely…this one did and excellent job!! Automatically imported facebook albums and created wordpress pages for each one. This is what I was looking for in another plugins but no one does the work (al least for now – If someone knows of another plugin with this skills I will apreciate it).
I was working around the plugin to fix the API deprecation from August 2012. I found some interesting things:
1) The Fotobook app is no longer mantained anymore. So, I think that what it is necesary is to creat an app as “developer” and replace the api key and the api secret in fotobook.php.
2) Next step is to replace the link in step 2 “Get permissions” (documented in other posts) for this:
https://www.facebook.com/dialog/oauth/?client_id=APP_ID&redirect_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fdesktopapp.php%3Fapp_id%APP_ID%26popup%3D1&scope=offline_access,user_photos,user_photo_video_tags.
I’m not a code master but this worked for me in an old instalation of wordpress. Anyway, I still can’t to update albums because I get this message: “There was an error while retrieving your photos: Incorrect signature [Error #104]”. I don’t know if I’m doing thinks well, but maybe this is a clue to continue working on it.
Anyone with better knowledge and ideas?

This bug is due to recent changes to the Facebook API. More specifically in concerning Fotobook among similar affected apps, as of the 1st of August 2012 the ‘prompt_permission’ endpoint(among others) has been deprecated, as described in the link below.

Fotobook can access and get permissions regarding ‘Basic Info’ which seem to be done in Step 1 of the Fotobook Account Setup, but it fails at getting the ‘photo’ and ‘video’ access permissions which is attempted in Step 2. Hence the error you see on Facebook when attempting to complete Step 2 ‘Request Permissions’ using WordPress Fotobook in the Fotobook Settings/Setup page:
ERROR: This endpoint has been deprecated. To temporarily reenable it, you may disable the “august_2012” platform migration. It will be disabled permanently on August 1, 2012.
I finally figured out a fix for this myself, based on the new way of requesting permissions using the Facebook API, described in the link below:

Ideally, the changes should be implemented in the Fotobook Code, but given certain legal implications I’m not sure how feasible that would be, unless permission is granted by the Fotobook owner/developer.
However, You CAN work-around this without getting into the code.
Here is the Solution:
Note: You might have to first remove your Facebook account from Fotobook, as well as remove the Fotobook App from Facebook, before you attempt the solution.
1)Install latest version of Fotobook on your WordPress Host, making sure it has PHP 5
2)Under Settings -> Fotobook in wordpress, Complete ‘Step 1’ of Facebook Account Authentication, closing the popup window when requested by the message displayed.
3)Press ‘Step 2: Request Permissions’ button, which should take you to the Facebook popup with the deprecation Error. Close this popup window and immediately open a new tab in your browser. Paste the following url into the address bar of the new tab and press enter (I presume client_id and app_id are the same for you guys, since they correspond to Fotobook ID):
4)You should now be able to allow Fotobook permissions to access your Facebook photos and videos by pressing allow.
5)Go back to WordPress Settings -> Fotobook and complete the Facebook account setup by clicking on ‘Step3: Apply Permissions’ button.
6)You should now be able to Import the Albums from your account, as expected.
This worked for me. Let me know if you have any troubles with it.
I haven’t been able to find any other solution on the web, even though lots of people are having issues with it since the 1st of August.

fotobook imports albums fine, creates pages etc. and lists albums correctly. But when I open an album all the thumbnails are in 1 column in the middle. The first image is an link tag and all other images are placed inside the link tag. Hey guys. In order to get fotobook looking sweet with my theme I need to be able to specify which template the pages are created with. I tried the following, but it didnt work.

Individual bloggers/users cannot import facebook photos – only the super admin can in his own blog.
Individual users seem to import only the album names – they also cannot update/save the settings on the settings page as on clicking ‘update’ the page redirects to the admin’s page.

]]>The Fotobook plugin properly displays all of my Facebook albums. However when you click on an album it takes you to the next page where all of the small photos for that album are displayed. The issue is that no matter what small photo you click on – you are always shown the large image for the first photo in the album.

If I am making a website with wordpress for a company or organization that has a fan page on facebook, I would like to download albums from that fan page, not my personal photos.
