Had a good run… Author do you plan to update? Suggestions for an alernative w same or very similar functionality? Thx
]]>I like this plugin, but it lacked some functionality that I needed. Therefore I have adapted it a bit…
Functionality I have added:
– The description of the photo at Flickr is posted as bold text under the photo
– The last updated date/time is saved as a plugin setting and can be changed, so it’s not necessary anymore to delete then reinstall the plugin to republish photos
– The last updated date/time is visible on the plugin’s settings page
Functionality I am planning to add:
– Copy the Flickr tags over to the WordPress tags
– Add settings option to display the Flickr description under or above the photo
– Add settings option to display the Flickr description as normal or bold text
– Add settings option to save a Flickr photo as a draft post instead of publishing directly
Is anybody interested in this or a future version of this plugin? Not sure if I can publish a new version, but if the owner doesn’t mind and is not planning on releasing new versions anymore, then I am willing to take over.
Credits go to the author, Alexey Novikov. I was able to change your plugin but would not have been able to write it from scratch !
]]>Lovely plugin. Very easy to use. One thing I would add is a possibility, to reset update date so you can re-import all flickr post. I succeeded by only by manually removing the value of fap_lastupdate (or something similar) in database. Again, would be nice to have it directly in settings.
]]>At first I thought the plugin was taking a long time to recheck Flickr, but then I noticed that what its doing is setting the publish date on new posts to be four hours in the future, so they do not show up for four hours after new images are uploaded.
It’s probably not a coincidence that my timezone is set to -4 UTC.
Has anyone found a way to change this behavior, or could a fix for this be worked into the next version? Thanks!
]]>I think it’s pretty easy to let flickr Auto Poster import the image description (the short text after the title) as the blog posts content too? But I don’t really know how to do that…
]]>I have downloaded and installed the Flickr Auto Poster plugin. I noticed that the documentation states that the plugin checks for new images every five minutes. If an image is found, when does it get posted? In the same five minute window?
I ask because immediately after getting the plugin installed I uploaded a photo to Flickr. It’s been over an hour now and that image has still not been posted.
]]>It would be useful if this could import by set in addition to importing by tag. Or just importing everything.
