How does the WYSIWYG in the page layout work? It’s not doing anything. I make selections, maybe even add a iframe options and it just doesn’t do anything.

I like this very much and I also like the way I can customize the Property types. Is there a way to break out of the iFrames? I would like to pull the data and display it in different ways, grid, list etc, however I am not sure if that is what is possible with this set up. For example, on my home page I would like to display a grid of photos of the listings, and the ability to click on the image over to a property detail page. Is that possible? or am I getting a little too ambitious?

I am trying to create a custome search for all properties in a specific development. I have watched the demo video but this is not working like the video. I copy the url for the location/development search add it to the custom fields

However whenever I select it in the widget it UN-checks on save, how do you do a seach for say specific development? is there any easy way to do this?

Hello Max,

Is there a way to adjust the size of the search now and advanced search buttons? They are not lining up the way I would like to see them on my side bar. Making them smaller may help. I realize this may involve editing a php or css file. I am not a programmer but any input is appreciated.

Great widget but the quick search doesn’t work when tie iframe setting is used. The quick search pull the entire county and not just the city that has been selected.

Hey Max,
I am making some changes to my site and I currently have the quick search results going to a new window and everything works fine. However I want to change it to have the results show in an iframe on my site.

So I went in and created the page and selected it inside of the plugin for the iFrame to appear on. However when I run the search the iFrame comes up but it shows all of the listings in the MLS, it doesn’t apply the criteria in the Quick Search box???

Thanks for sharing this plugin. Is there a setting that allows the search results to display in the same format as the “my results” with the official plugin? When I runs a search with this plugin the results default to the standard flexes list view. I want to try to keep them consistent with the look and feel of my site. I am developing a new website for a real estate broker. I installed flexmls IDX, but quickly became disenchanted by its conceptually flawed design and limited options. FlexIDX Home Search looks much better and more like I expected flexmls IDX to be, but it was last updated 2010-10-26 and is shown as being compatible only up to WordPress 3.0.5. Has development been discontinued?

My name is Jeremy, I’m somewhat new to WP, and even new to this forum. I’m currently building a real estate website, and have installed the flex mls plug in. I have a flex IDX widget in my sidebar with some basic search criteria. However, when you select of the options that you want, and click the “Search now” button, nothing happens. I do have the “Advanced Search” button enabled, and if I click that one, it takes me right to my MLS link. Any thoughts on why the “Search now” button would not be functioning?

I setup a test WP site today at https://www.justinroths.net and installed the FlexIDX Home Search plugin and was initially getting several array & function errors in the widget, and noticed the arrays weren’t loading into the form fields properly.

After some quick searching, I found that it’s because my server is running PHP 5.0. The following modifications to flexIDXHS.php cleared the problem up:

Line 883 – added (array) before the variable names

foreach((array)$properties as $k => $v){

Line 1003 – added (array) before the variable names

$query_properties = array_merge((array)$query_properties, (array)$opt['custom-searches']);

I’m in no way a programmer, just someone with a limited ability to troubleshoot small issues! But this seemed to clear up my problem, so I thought it might be something the developer would like to know about.

Hi Max,

First, great plug-in. I see it working on many sites, so surely I’m missing something here…

I have signed up for FlexMLS IDX service, created a direct URL, and plugged it in where required on the WP Admin page. When I go to my WP site, I can select the criteria, click on “Search Now” and it takes me to the FlexMLS IDX page.

But, if I enter a city name in the criteria, it will initially display the search results for that city, then it looks as if it resets itself, and refreshes the search, minus the city requirement. For example, I search for Chandler listings between 150k-250k, click “Search Now”, I initally get 400 listings, the about 2 seconds later, “(x) Chandler” is removed, the list count refreshes, and it counts 7000+ listings. I assume listings of 150k-250k from throughout the state.

I’m having the same problem on my locally hosted site as well as on the live site:

I am using this widget and I have a custom saved search link for horse property. The problem is if I put a price range in, it doesn’t hold on the results. This means I have to scroll through all the properties to see the prices I want. Solutions?

Is there a way to open the quick search results in a frame instead of opening a new window? The site in question is bradsellsmore.com I’d like for the quick search results to display the same way the other MLS items appear. This would allow me to keep all the header and footer information that displays on the site, and just show the results in an iframe.

I noticed that your tutorial showed that there was more than one button – link and i-frame. I see only one in mine. I also noted that you were able to access all of the options in the mls…I don’t see that option, but perhaps I’m not looking in the right place. I would like to set up specific communities as a separate search, particularly in Mesa….or I can combine, as you indicated in your tutorial.

I also notice that when I did set up a page, that my photo – which is on the MLS crowds the info.

Any suggestions?

I’m trying to configure the plugin on my own site, but none of the city fields or property types come across in the search window. I did read that the parameters do vary from one MLS to another. If I obtain the various parameters for my MLS, where do I go about changing them to make the widget work correctly?

Also, in our small market it would be equally as useful to have the mls “area” field available in place of or used with the city field. Any idea how to go about that?

Hello, I’m having trouble getting my quick search widget to work. Hey this is not the plugin’s problem but we created a theme here: https://www.fountainhillsagents.com and can not get the plugin to work w/ IE7. It simply never loads the site and browser must be forced closed. We’ve tried everything we can think of to fix it including disabling plugins and js etc. We now have hidden the search for IE7 and show it on other browsers. Any thoughts on what’s causing our problem? Thanks
