I am not expecting much hope in help here! but my client really want me to continue to use this plugin on her website!
Since upgrading the plugin has dissapeared from the available widgets list even though it is fully activated!
Can anyone recommend anything apart from modifying the code!

Since I updated to version 4.3, the widget stopped appearing in my available widgets list. Also, any instances I had of it at my sidebars just disappeared ?? It’s a pity because I really liked it!

I see there haven’t been any updates, but just in case you are interested in giving it some more life, it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having an issue with the Thumbnail dropdown. I have set my thumbnail size to 125 X 125, but instead I see lots of thumbnail options that don’t exist within my theme and are not 125 x 125. I did regenerate thumbnails, and double checked that it worked, but there is no option in the dropdown for my 125 X 125 thumbnails. How do I fix it?

Hi there,

I have a new install that’s NOT on Genesis, and started using your plugin to replace the one I normally use on the Genesis platform.

Works great — BUT…I am showing 8 posts on one page, of 100 posts in that category. I don’t see any pagination option, though. I suspect I am to put some fancy code in one of these empty boxes but have NO clue which one and what.

Is this something I can do? I don’t want to show all 100 but obviously can’t limit the content to only 8 posts either.

I am using the “Featured Category Posts Widget” and I was hoping to get some information on how to utilize all the options properly.

Widget Title: //I got this one! ??

Widget container type(i.e. div,li **Do not include <>): //I think this is where I could change the container type to a ul or li to have the posts list horizontally, no? Any simple example of what would need to go here to list posts horizontally?

Widget container class name: //Assigns a specific container type to the widget I assume like “section-box” or something like that I am assuming.

Widget header type (ie H2,H3,H4…**Do not include <>)://This seems pretty easy to understand too

Widget header type class name//Similar to container classes, i.e. a type of header.

Code Before Widget://this is where I am really struggling I have some code I’d like to place as the header. Here it is:

<div class=”section-box”><div class=”section-header”><h2 class=”section-title”><span class=”name”>News</span></h2><span>More <i class=”mini-arrow-right”></i></span></div>

… I’ve removed the div info yet this code always breaks the widget. When I place the same code into a Black Studio TinyMCE widget on the HTML tab it works fine. So this is my biggest problem right now. I did try breaking up the code and placing the appropriate parts into the right section in the widget but it still was broken.

Code After Widget:// -?

Code Before Widget Title:// -?

Code After Widget Title:// -?

Just as some background I am not a programmer although I am attempting to educate myself via some classes. In the interim I still could use some very basic understanding of common class usages etc.

If excerpts are not shown there is an extra p tag after each post. In featured-category-posts.php the p tags before and after the if statement at around line 280 should be moved inside the if statement.

I’d like the Widget Title to link to the Category it is pulling the posts from. I tried adding an a href=”” in the slot for “code before title”, but it does not work. How would I accomplish this?

I have another question, this one a bit more urgent, would be super grateful for any feedback.

I am using your plugin, I selected a category of posts that are published but not visible in the loop on the homepage. Your plugin works fine anyway, it recognize the presence of those posts and show their featured images as thumbnails.

Are there specific lines of code in your plugin that makes this possible and where do I find them?

This plugin is great, thanks! I can’t find the way to do something I need: floating each thumbnail left so that I can have a list on the same line.

I did floated the thumb left and gave them a width, but a clear:both div is added automatically inline by something in the php, and I can’t find where.

Any advice? SOme setting to change, or few line to php to add?

Hi there, I am having trouble with the thumbnails. I can’t get them to show. The dropdown called Select Thumbnail, right under Show post thumbnail? is blank, theres nothing for me to select. Any ideas? Am I missing a setting?

Is here a way to have say the links in a post stay active? right now it strips out the link and is just text.
i believe it has to do with this line in featured-category-posts.php
$rcstthec = strip_tags($rcsample);
when i add , ‘‘ like so:
$rcstthec = strip_tags($rcsample, ‘‘);
the links work, BUT then the excerpt doesnt show up.

Anyone have any ideas/fixes?

The plugin is working great, except for the setting for “Post Title header type class name”

I’m trying to style the Post Title, but it looks like something is missing in featured-category-posts.php, so even when “Yes” is selected, nothing changes.

Where in my theme is the widget pulling the thumbnail sizes from? My default thumb size set in the media settings does not appear there and instead I have some random sizes that I’m not sure where they’re coming from.

Anyone know how to add/edit the options for the thumb size?

I really like this plugin – but there are lots of validation errors. Every image that I have called is causing warnings. the site won’t launch on the ipad, I think because of the errors.

My favotie plugin “Alkivia SidePosts” does this as example. If you inklude this option i will switch to your plugin, because it it better in many ways.
