While this plugin looks great, is easy to use, and very flexible, it is also very slow, as indicated in a previous post. My page is virtually unusable with this plugin.

I was looking for a plugin that could display my LinkedIn profile in my about page of my personal site. Not too sure about how important that the plugin does not use API calls (as noted above), but the plugin does exactly what I need – EXCELLENT! Thanks ??

I’ve searched plugin to show linkedin projects. The shortcode [fb_linkedin_resume_projects user=”MY_LINKEDIN_URL” title=””] can do that for me. However, this plugin sometimes will show the error message: FB Linkedin Resume: we’re sorry but we can’t correctly download your LinkedIn profile. The error makes some of my website setting are gone… XD

This plug-in does not make use of the LinkedIn API. It uses a DOM Parser that calls a LinkedIn profile and then generates a huge array with the profile’s DOM elements. Every time a function is called, the plug-in makes a call to a LinkedIn profile, generates a huge array all over again and then scans it for wanted “elements”. There are issues with doing it this way. The array generated by the DOM parser takes a lot of computer resources because it is a huge array. A simple dump of it and it will freeze your browser by draining your computer memory. That proves to be a resource hog on the system. Because the parser can’t make use of an API Key, important LinkedIn features like “Recommendations” can’t be made available.
The correct way to do this is by using OAuth and calling the LinkedIn API correctly. That will return just what you have asked for.

This is a great idea, simple and seamless! Just hoping for more shortcodes to cover all sections!
