Hello,
The FastDup version you can download here is the old version 2.1.9
While Development talks about the new version 2.4.
Can you make the new version 2.4 available so that it can be downloaded and also show up with the available new versions in WordPress Update Plugins.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards.
Hello,
Is it possible to save existing self-created FastDup Templates in a FastDup backup?
Currently, after restoring a FastDup backup, everything is restored as the original WordPress website except the self-created FastDup Templates were not restored. It looks like a new install of the FastDup plugin.
Or can this be set somewhere so that the FastDup Templates can also be included in the FastDup backup?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Even after waiting more than an hour, a backup process keeps getting stuck at 10%.
See screencapture:
https://ibb.co/P493m4L
Apparently, I am not the only one with such a problem.
Are there any solutions for this?
I am using Windows Server 2016 with IIS, MariaDB and PHP 8.3.
Thanks for the least help.
Best Regards.
Hello,
After restoring a Backup file, I got a message in the Amin management of the restored website that a plugin was deactivated because it no longer exists. See the screencapture:
https://prnt.sc/LuBSeNythrr9
And after checking, a plugin was indeed not included in the backup file. The plugin in question is the Really Simple Security – Simple and Performant Security (formerly Really Simple SSL) plugin.
After reinstalling this plugin, everything does work correctly again. But I suppose this is not the intention?
Surely a Backup serves to backup all plugins?
Which solution exists for this?
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards.
Hello,
I could take a backup of the website but placing or restoring it elsewhere on the same server does not work.
All database details are correct but at Test database I get the error message Error 500. See Console for details. and at Next the error message Installation Unsuccessfully! – The server requested authentication method unknow to the client [aut_gssapi_client]. I am working on Windows Server 2022 with IIS and MariaDB.
I have no experience with this FastDup plugin yet.
I don’t know what I did wrong? Taking the backup gave no errors.
Can you guys give me hints and/or tips on how to solve these problems?
See attachments for screen copies of the error messages:

Thanks in advance.

When adding directories to the filters list, I find that it is not always consistent with how it works. If I click wp-content to expand it for instance (so that I can choose /uploads for example), while I am not trying to filter out the entire directory wp-content, it adds it to the filter list anyway.
This requires me to manually delete the wp-content/ directory from the filters list, then add uploads to that.
Ideally a filtered folder or item would only happen once you hit that red circular icon next to the list, not the text itself.
I am using Firefox on Win10.
Thanks!

]]>Managed to get a full backup together, I love the simplicity of this plugin, well done!
A couple feature requests for consideration:
– the ability to name a backup (the auto naming with the numbering is good, so perhaps something like custom-name_package_34sdf08wef_archive.zip would be a good convention
– an option to filter out more files, particularly wp-admin, wp-includes and wp-uploads (this is offered only if the files are large enough, perhaps it could always be an options)
Finally one point of feedback: the modal screen used for the details of a backup seems to get buggy if the admin sidebar is longer than the screen. Have to reload sometimes to scroll through the sidebar. Firefox, win10
Thanks!

Hi Support,
FastDup: Website live on server. Backup started but without success. The circle spins on the database. Infinity. No notice whatsoever. To no avail. Deactivated.
I tried the following plugins (JUST TO EXPLAIN how FastDup should work):
Total Upkeep: Backup failed. The plugin reports an error but cannot detect which error it is. The user does not know what to do next. Deactivated and deleted.
Backup Migrate: Backup succeeded. I followed the instructions (from support forum) for the restricted server settings, as a precaution. The plugin is fine but I don’t like the way it works. The result is that there is no “standalone installation” (no installer.php and archive.zip). Restore and migrate work in such a way that it is first necessary to install WordPress on the destination address. Then the plugin is installed and the backup is loaded through it. Big waste of time.
Duplicator: Settings > SQL Mode: Mysqldump, Archive Engine: ZipArchive. Backup started. It reports an error and requests that the SQL Mode be switched to PHP Code (Runtime error in DUP_Database::Build. Shell mysql dump error. Change SQL Mode to the “PHP Code” in the Duplicator > Settings > Packages.). Restarted backup. Completely successful.
My idea for FastDup:
I hope you will consider these ideas and after a few updates FastDup will become the easiest and most reliable backup/clone/migrate plugin. Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day. Regards,
]]>My first experience with the FastDup plugin is mixed. I am delighted and worried at the same time, both.
I installed the plugin for the first time and saved a backup of my website. I tested everything on localhost with XAMPP. The website is ready to be uploaded to the server. The plugin is very intuitive.
My first backup
I started a “Full Site” backup. The circle (loader) spins on the Database. I realized something was wrong when the process took too long. The database is only 15 MB in size. After 20 minutes, I stopped the backup, deleted and started from the beginning. NOTE: Advice for other users – if the backup is not completed within few minutes – stop and start from the beginning.
This is the new time for “Full Site” backup (480 MB):
27 seconds to scan
77 seconds to build
I can’t believe this is possible. The fastest backup/clone/migrate plugin I’ve used so far.
Then I made a “Only Database” backup just in case. Blink of an eye, in just one second.
After that, I also started a custom backup “Site without wp-content” (everything except wp-content). Maybe a little more than a second. This is difficult to measure. You blink and it’s over.
Now I’m testing the restore:
(1.) I started “Full Site” restore. The plugin works great.
30 seconds to restore
Everything looks normal on the website, but a few pictures are missing. The link to the image is broken (something like mywebsite.commy-image.png).
I clicked on the Permalink several times. I check but nothing. The problem is still present.
(2.) I start restore from “Only Database”. Completed. I click on Permalink. Everything is fine. All images on the page are visible. I don’t notice any problem.
Just in case
However, I will transfer the website to the server with the plugin that I have used so far, in which I have full confidence. Right now I’m not sure if FastDup did everything without error.
Questions:
I want FastDup to be as simple and easy to use as it is now. I just want it to be safer to use. I wouldn’t want it to be bloated like it happened with the Duplicator plugin. This is exactly why I started using FastDup.
Thanks in advance. Regards,

]]>Hi,
Is multisite migration supported ?
Is the basic move the whole multisite scenario supported ?
]]>Hello,
First of all C?thanks for a wonderful plugin, it’s a massive time-saver. However as I keep using it and trying more with it, I’ve noticed that if I duplicate/migrate the website twice, after second duplication the state of the site stays as in its first iteration. Example case:
1. Setup and create a WP WooCommerce site (1st site)
2. Duplicate it and change the design to create a similar site (2nd site)
3. Duplicate it again to move to another domain (production) C?the site returns to its state in step 1 (1st site)
Is there something wrong that I’m doing? After 2nd duplication/migration even the user/password from the 2nd site is not recognized (it’s non-existent).
Is it a known issue/bug maybe?

However, calling the page brings me back to the “online version” (under original URL). Testwise I have the page again online on the server cloned under another domain (via subdomain). Here I can call the login but as soon as I am logged in I am also redirected back to the original domain (original page). So it is not possible to work in the backened (admin).
