I’m busy redeveloping a site. We’ve trimmed down the number of posts to about 280. But when I try to export with media, I get a “This site cannot be reached” error.
Is there anything I can do?
]]>Hi. Thank you for the work on the plugin. I’ve used it before to test batch export-import of posts from certain category on the website I’m supporting.
After a while I came across an issue that some posts from the time range simply don’t export and I don’t know where to start with this issue. Any help is appreciated.
]]>Hi All.
I wonderd i you could please help, I am trying to copy my posts and images from one to another but keep getting this warning, it seems top still bring in the posts but no images at all.

]]>Hello! first I’d like to thank you for this plugin. My issue is that I’ve exported posts with images from one site and wish to import them in a new one. I’ve exported the entire posts with images bulk and also i have exported them in chunks of 2 or 3 months. When I try to import the entire bulk it sopts importing after a while without any message and when I check the posts only a part of them is imported. Same happens when importing by chunks. Some chunks are imported with the message “succesfull” and other chucks are imported but with no message at all and it seems not all posts get imported. What can I do? can I get help to sort this out? I really need your help. ?? I have all the XML files. Thank you in advance!
]]>Hi all – I installed the plugin and selected “Export media with selected content”. However, when I import the XML with “Download and import file attachments” Selected I get “Failed to import Media” for all posts. What am I doing incorrectly?
]]>I’ve tried this plugin on two sites (2 different exports and 2 different imports). Each time I import into a new site, it adds a backslash before every single apostrophe in the article. Any idea why it’s doing that or how to prevent it?
e.g. “Please, please don’t tell me that’s how we do it?”
becomes: “Please, please don\’t tell me that\’s how we do it?”
]]>I need to export posts from a site that has HTTP authentication enabled. When I import the posts to another site, the featured image cannot be retrieved, I’m assuming because of the authentication. When I turn off the authentication on the original post site, and repeat the process, the featured images are included.
Is there a way to add site login credentials into the xml file?
]]>Obviously, I’m overlooking something. But I’ve installed and activated the plugin, but I cannot figure out where to start using it? No ‘export media with selected content’ option to be chosen anywhere.
Again: I must be overlooking something, but: how now do I use the plugin?
As the subject says. A site with 43000+ media items tries to allocate several hundred megabytes of memory, even if only selecting a small subset of posts (~20 posts) to export. Specifially line 232 triggers this fatal error, and I believe the reason is that you load ALL media items into an array (line 81), rather than narrow that query down to only include relevant posts. In line 92 you know which posts are relevant for the query, why not use that to construct a much more optimized query?
This error is the same one that causes the ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE response as others have posted about.
]]>Hi,
Trying your plugin but i dont see the options with CPT only with “normal” post is this correct?
I need to export CPT posts made with WP bakery (where all post have short codes wp bakery) and wonder if you plugin is able to export it correct to use it on a new fresh WP install without wp bakery
Cheers
]]>I used this plugin to export featured images along with some posts.
On the other WordPress site images added to export files were imported and are now served from there. However these imported images are not shown in the media library in the dashboard. I can see the image when editing the individual post though.
Anyone know if there is a solution for this?
]]>I’ve got a WP-6.x setup with several hundred MB of images in Media. I installed this plugin, but when I perform the export, none of the images are included in the resulting XML file. The XML is identical to the version before the plugin was installed.
]]>Hi,
I have a fresh WordPress installation (theme 2021, Gutenberg editor) and imported posts with images. All images are in the media library, linked to the post so that looks good.
But most images do not show, their source is the original website (which is still live), after checking with inspector tool.
E.g. look at the image gallery at the end of original post and this is: the exported post
I tried: saving permalinks, switch themes 2020/2021, look with incognito browser and different browsers. Replace url tool (elementor). Checked WordPress media settings (both sites default 150 / 300 / 1024).
The only I can think of is that the images have different sizes because they are scale/rendered. E.g. on the original site there is a
1024 image But the image shown is 238×179 renderd from the file …..IMG_1646-1536×1153.jpg
What do you think about my problem and what you advise?
If I can get this to work, I can import more blog posts, this is a first step.
Regards, Myra
]]>Why all the image path in blog post export from other site all start with backslash that cause the image all show in question mark? Kindly assist. Thank you.
]]>When I try to make an export of my posts with featured images, it downloads an XML file of 0KB. So I can’t import this file to another location. How do I fix this issue?
]]>Hi! Can you tell me how to run the plugin using wp-cli?
The plugin is working GREAT — such a lifesaver thank you!! — BUT we keep hitting getting a website timeout. I saw your suggestion in another post to use wp-cli but I’m not sure how to specify the posts to run it on?
We have almost 300 posts so it would take forever to run manually. Hoping I can add a cron job to run a few at a time.
Thanks again!!
Lisa
Does this work in ver 6 of WordPress?
]]>The media files were transferred over which is cool. Way nice that you would create a patch that fixes what looks like a WP bug.
The only issue is all the photos in the posts on the new site (new URL) are still being sourced from the previous website ( old URL).
]]>I’m trying to export blog posts to migrate to a new www.remarpro.com site from wordpress.com and this plugin isn’t working. I get the ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE error page in chrome even when exporting one month.
]]>The problem started gradually. The export file would have a couple random extra items I didn’t ask for, like a bbpress forum thread or images belonging to none of the stories. I caught it adding an unwanted article as well but initially blamed myself.
The way I export is I assign a dozen articles to a user named “export” and then choose that user in the export form.
But the export files are now full of random stuff from other authors.
I have tried making a new user named export2, deleting “export” and then select to transfer export’s content to export2. I have also cleared caches just in case. Nothing works. I can no longer use this plugin to selectively export articles. Any ideas?
If I uncheck “Export media with selected content” I get a normal export file with the right items.
]]>If images are already exist then this plugin is not replacing new image url,It is taking old website image path.
]]>Hello, I used the plugin to export all posts and associated image/media files and then imported the posts and associated image/media files to a new site. The process was flawless. However, now when I go into the imported post on the new site and try to add a featured image the media library image selection window doesn’t show any images that are in the media library. However, when I view the media library all the images are there. If I create a new post and try to add a featured image, all the images in the media library image selection window display and can be selected to set as the featured image. I’ve tried doing to repair on the SQL db, re-installing the WordPress core files, refreshing the permalinks, re-saving the imported post, disabling all plugins, and re-testing, but can’t seem to correct the issue. The site is using the current version of WordPress (5.8.3). Does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this issue or what I may have done wrong during the export/import process? Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
]]>Hi,
I have downloaded the plugin on my website but it doesn’t work: I am able to export posts “normally”, but if I flag the plugin extention for media I get a blank page with “ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE”. I tryed both with or without filters (I would like to export just the posts of a specific month) but it still doesn’t work.
I had installed a 7.0.33 PHP version, I have updated it to 7.4.25: I cannot install 8.0 or higher because of compatibility issues.
I have also tryed to install an older version of the plugin, both 1.0 and 2.0 do not work.
Could you assist me?
]]>Hello,
Within my wordpress (hosted by Godaddy), when I click “Add Plugin” and search for “Export media with selected content” nothing comes up.
Is it because this plugin doesn’t work with WordPress sites hosted on Godaddy?
thank you,
Matt

I saw this in the development changelog, and was curious about it.
“Feature: support for Gutenberg notation of images and gallery”
It looks like Gallery and Image markup already includes IMG tags of the images that exist in the galleries, so I’m wondering why the media items weren’t already automatically included in the exports to begin with, or why you had to do any additional work.
Thank you! Again, great plugin ??
