The plugin worked perfectly as expected on a 6.0.2 installation
]]>I just used this plugin on 5.9.1 and it worked fine.
]]>I recently installed the plugin to export posts with media included. The first two exports worked as expected. Including the import process to the other site. However, I went to use it again and I am facing the problem “ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE”. I noticed that someone else had commented on the forum about this same problem, however, with no answer so far. Could help ?
]]>Thanks a lot for this super plugin! It’s easy to use and it works well on Wordpres 5.5.1
]]>This plugin worked for me, 1/26/2020 on wp 5.3.2.
I found it, and followed very helpful instructions from, https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/299460/how-can-i-export-and-then-import-posts-with-featured-images

]]>Hey timersys,
Love this plugin!
When I export, it only exports 5000` lines of code and about 150 posts, of the total 1000 posts.
So there is quite a lot missing.
Is this a limitation of the plugin or is there a way I can override it?
thank you so much ??
]]>Export ran. Used import and get the following error.
Sorry, there has been an error.
File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.
It doesn’t work in one step to export and import all post content with featured images, but it does work and does export and allow you to import the featured images.
I ran this plugin and all it did was export the featured images. I imported them fine into the new site and they showed up in the media library.
Then I ran the export/import of the posts from the WP built-in importer and the images were attached to the posts just fine.
The order you run them in probably matters.
I did however only do this with one custom post type and not all content but maybe it would work with all content as well.
]]>hello, anybody has used this plugin to import woocommerce images to a new woocommerce store ? Thanks.
]]>This plugin sort of does what it promises. It might even be misleading to say that it is broken.
I wanted to share what it does and what it does not do as it is real easy to read between the lines sometimes and expect something that doesn’t happen…
What it does
-It does generate an xml file with the featured images
-When you import the xml file into a new site, it does import in the featured images from the old site to the new site, uploading the images into the media library
What it does not do
– it does not attach those images to the Posts on the site
That last missing step is a big one. The plugin is still helfpful, but at the end of the day, you will need to go through each blog post and add the featured image to the Post.
It will be slightly easier since those images are in the Media Library (maybe easier).
]]>After successful export from one WordPress site, and a successful import to another WordPress site, images did not auto-link to posts after using the plugin. In other words, although the posts are identical (url included) featured images did not populate after import.
Is this serialized in the database? How can I link images from my freshly imported media library to my imported blog posts?
p.s. Posts were exported/imported using tools > import, and export. This was done prior to using this plugin.
Thanks.
]]>So this plugin isn’t working for me at all. Most of the error strings that I am receiving begins with “Failed to import Media ‘___'”
I would appreciate a response back ASAP as this is a client’s website. I’m using the Infographer theme by Qode.
Attached are screenshots of the error strings that I am receiving after I try to upload the images. And yes I did click the checkbox for “Download and import file attachments”
Thank You!!!
]]>Tried exporting from old site even though there were no options to select posts my catagory. Importing caused problems.
]]>Hi,
I tried your plugin and it’s one of the better ones out there for this. But it works better on a empty target site, than on a target website that already has posts on it.
But when I import posts, and later featured images with your plugin, on a website with existing posts. Only a small percentage of featured images get matched with the (right) post.
So is the import matching the f.i. and the posts based on id? Or based on for example title?
Because when you import on a site where there are existing posts, you will get new id’s for certain imported posts (because the id in the import file is already existing on the target website). Which will cause that a lot of f.i. can’t be matched with the right posts anymore.
Could this be true, or could it be something else?
Thanks very much in advance.
]]>Hi:
I exported out “posts” only, and I need the featured image information then imported into a new blog but I keep getting this error roughly at the same time during the import.
Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Any ideas? I have tried to create the export file a few times, so I keep trying with new files but get the same result. Not sure if this is something on the file side, or the website. Any assistance would be great. Thanks so much!!
]]>I did a partial export with the default WordPress export – 3 months of posts.
Then, I did an export using the Export Featured Images plugin and in the plugin settings, I checked the boxes next to “Posts” and “Attachments”.
However, after the import, the images show up as “Unattached” in the media library.
Any way to fix this?
]]>Does this export both the posts and images, so when I import to another site, all will be there?
]]>How to conserve the link between featured image and post?
My exported and imported featured images were nog longer attached.
Also, out of appr. 150 posts with featured images, only 16 images were exported. Are there additional settings to observe?
I’ve done a few test runs of this plugin, and all yield the same result:
When attempting to import, every single item fails to import.
For every item that I try to import, I get the message:
Failed to import Media “[name-of-item]”
]]>Hi there, I have a site with 2051 posts and featured images on each. I tried to export but it times out after about 5mins – just spins and spins and gives me no xml file? I have a VPS server with 12GB of RAM. I know this is resource intensive job so just wondering is it the server or the plugin at this stage?
]]>Hi, thanks for a great plugin
Are you able to add feature to be able to select the post category that you want to export the featured images of?
I do not want to export ALL featured images of all blog posts, only of one category.
Thanks!
