Hi,
I use your plugin to exclude some pages from the navigation menu.
I’m currently on WP 5.6 & PHP v 7.4.0. I’ve recently started seeing an error on the admin end as well as frontend as below:
Notice: Only variables should be assigned by reference in /home1/todaysa2/public_html/tychesoftwares/staging/live/wp-content/plugins/exclude-pages/exclude_pages.php on line 92
Any help on fixing this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pinal
Simon,
Thank you for such a long-standing plugin that has been so useful to many, including us! I would like to offer to adopt the plugin so development and maintenance on it can be continued.

]]>Hi
First of all let me tell you the great job done with this plugin. ??
I never had any problem with it, and my website is complex. Still, today – without any apparent reason – when I tryed to save a page (changed one sentence) the screen went blank. In debug mode, I was able to trace the problem:
Notice: Undefined index: epfm_meta_box_field in /home/mywebsite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/exclude-pages-from-menu/admin/class-exclude-pages-from-menu-admin.php on line 165
Any idea how I can fix it? The pages now are saved with success if I do the opposite of what their status was: an excluded must be previously included, and vice versa…
Kind regards
]]>This plugin hasn’t been updated in 6 years, hasn’t been tested beyond WP 3.4.2, and the developer no longer responds to support questions. It’s a useful plugin, particularly in combo with Better Section Navigation. It deserves a home where it will be updated and cared for.
]]>Hello,
does this plugin collect or store any kind of data?
Does it store data on the customer’s server?
Best wishes,

This is an error encountered if your server is using PHP 5.6 or above, and if debugging for your site is enabled.
If you’re still at PHP 5.3, it works fine on WP 4.7.3.

]]>Hello to the developer. This is an amazing plugin. I see it hasn’t been updated for over 2 years.
Has it been abandoned? Could you let us know?
Thanks Mary
]]>I’m not sure how this is done (and I don’t mind doing it for the current installation but thought it could be a good feature to add in the future too if you are still managing the plugin) but could the check box for excluding the page from navigation be added to the quick edit section for the pages too?
Due to the nature of our site, we have a lot of pages that come in and out of use throughout the year and this would be very nice to have added.
Thanks
Allen.
Many of my Dashboard pages are blank… such as Plugins, Pages, etc. Disabling this plugin restored some normalcy but it may also be a conflict between this and NextGen Gallery plugin

I setup the Maven Member Plugin, but had yet to include the administrator as a user within the plugin – meaning I can’t got to website.com/wp-admin to access the wordpress administration pages for my website. ‘

]]>So I’ve been experiencing an issue on a few site where the pages that were being excluded from the navigation all of a sudden become visible. Today it happened for the second time in as many weeks, and I’m not quite sure why this is.
I noticed this plugin is compatible up to 3.4.2, so could it be an issue with it being so out of date, while I’m running 3.8.1? Are there any updates from the developer coming for 3.8.1 compatibility?
If not, does anyone have any suggestions on an alternative, as this is causing us unnecessary support issues.

I have deactivated the plugin and message has disappeared. I believe its since upgrade to wordpress 3.8.1
Any ideas. Did see any other reference to same issue.

]]>Hi, I have WPMU, and I am allowing each site to create/edit pages from the front end. Of course the exclude checkbox does not display. However I would like to have a checkbox in the front end, and whatever that value is should be passed to the Exclude plugin. What would be the variable name the value should be passed to? And if you have an idea on how to achieve this I would be very grateful. I’m still researching how to code this.
Thank you! And Great plugin by the way
]]>I’ve been using this plugin for a few months. I’ve excluded a lot of pages for my site, no problem. All of a sudden today, a LOT of them are no longer excluded. I edit a page, saved it, and suddenly, unexcluded, lots of them.
I did install a plugin today, Custom CSS Manager, although the problem didn’t occur just after i did did that. it happened after i edited a page.
any ideas what could cause that? pretty painful to go back and exclude them all again, only to have this happen again.
any thoughts would be great.
thanks

Here’s a fixed version if you wanted to diff that into the main build:
The changes are just checking for $page!== NULL anywhere it’s used.

if ( $page !== NULL && ep_ancestor_excluded( $page, $excluded_ids, $pages ) ) {
Hi,
I was using this plugin for some time and it was working fine. Now I have issues. When I am trying to exclude page from navigation and I confirm changes it redirects me from my page to /../wp-admin/post.php
Do you know what might be the problem ?
