I’m getting a problem after the last upgrade. When I go to the EntryWizard Rating Form Management page in the WordPress backend none of my rating forms are visible and I can’t create any new ones. My Rating Schemes are still there and everything else seems to be OK it’s just that all of my Rating Forms are missing.
If I try to edit the WordPress page that contains the link to one of my rating forms I get a critical error and get an email from WordPress with the following in it:

Hello.
I just checked on a ratings page that my judges will be using this weekend. The page renders weird and has a message “There has been a critical error on this website.”. So far, ratings pages are the only pages on my site showing this message. I also see that the EWZ plugins were updated several hours ago so, for the time being, I am assuming the plugins have an error.
I’m going to attempt to rollback the plugins to see if the problem is with the new versions. Let me know if I can provide more information. Thanks.
]]>Hi Josie,
To create different webforms, I use a couple of generic layouts, because such layouts contain common fields that can be used in different webforms.
But in Rating forms, as far as I understand, each Rating form created is specific/tied to a layout and not to a webform. What that means to our setup is I have to create a separate layout for each webform so I can create a unique rating form.
Is it possible to have a rating form tied/associated with a webform?
I just setup a rating form for our second clinic but when it came to selecting the judge non were there just the select all members only
I checked the judges that have been setup and they are there as entry wizard jusge but do not show up in the form.
I created a new judge but it did not show up either
The only change was an auo upgrade to the latest version of EW 4 days ago.
I check our last clinic and they were there I closed it and went back in and they were gone
Any ideas as to where to look
]]>I’ve updated to the latest EWRF 1.1.21.
Trying to create a new scheme and keep getting “RS009 Error, scheme not saved *** EntryWizard ERROR *** Rating_Field found invalid value for required: true.”
Tried creating a Scheme based on a new EW Layout upload. but get the error.
Tried duplicating an existing EWRF scheme – saving, get the error
Tried making a new one from scratch- saving, get the error
Doesn’t in any option.
Any suggestions?
Hi Jose,
I have succesfully set uo rating schemes before on my system, I am trying to set up a new one.
I cannot add any item from my database, but can add additional items
i get the following error code
RS009] Error, scheme not saved *** EntryWizard ERROR *** Rating_Field found invalid value for required: true
This occurs with every field I try to add from the database
]]>Hi Joise,
We are now trying out online judging. I set up EWZ Rating on my staging site. I created my first test scheme and rating form. There are a few problems that I need help with.
1) The folder ewzr_test_images is not in the WordPress Upload folder. I know I can use my own test image, but still the question is why the said folder is not there. Something is amissed.
2) The EWZ created role “EntryWizard Judge” cannot be found in the WP Users. Where else I can find this role so I can assign it to existing users? Which plugin you recommend for assigning dual wp roles?
3) Since I could not assign user to “EntryWizard Judge”, I viewed the rating form as admin. The rating form did not show the image thumbnails. The column title was there and I could see all title names just not the thumbnails.
4) In the rating form, the “Go to next item after setting” drop down is empty. Not sure if this is right or not.
5) There is a php error message: Undefined index: QUERY_STRING. The location identified is wp-content/plugins/ewz-rating/includes/ewz-rating-shortcode.php:285
How do I correct that?
Thanks for your in advance.
]]>Hi Josie,
I’ve been using a Layout with an Option List called Division. One of the items has Label = ’Open B Grade’ & Value Stored = ‘OpenB’.
If I Download Spreadsheet from a Webform, the csv file has ‘OpenB’ in the Division column, as expected.
But if I Download Spreadsheet (1 row per item) from a Rating Form the Division column has ‘Open B Grade’. Ie. It has the Label.
This issue appears to have started in either version 1.1.18 or 1.1.17. Prior to that the issue did not occur.
Please revert back to the expect behaviour.
In the short term, I’ve modify our scripts to handle either the Label or the Value in the Division column.
Paul.
]]>Hi Josie,
Could you please add an option to disable the image viewer.
The option would be similar to the finish=”hide” option.
The option would:
Stop images being downloaded. ie. ‘Loading please wait’ would not appear.
Hide ‘Using This Rating Form’
Stop the viewer being shown when a thumbnail is clicked.
Why?:
Our judges prefer to used what they are familiar with. Often Lightroom, but also viewers like Faststone and irFanView.
We now send the images to them. They are named in the same order as is shown by ewz_show_rating. After they have decided which images are to get awards they log in and update the rating form. They only need to see the thumbnails.
Paul.
]]>Hi Josie,
Regarding the new option: ‘Some settings to reduce the number of clicks required:’
Could you please add a parameter to the ewz_show_rating shortcode to hide the new option. Similar to the finish=”hide” parameter.
When the new option is ticked the following issues occur:
1of2: If a button is clicked and ‘Save All’ is clicked, it highlights correctly. But if you ‘Clear Item’ the button remains highlighted. Doing a browser refresh clears the highlighted button.
2of2: if there are multiple shortcodes (with re_num set appropriately) and you do a refresh, you get multiple groups of buttons. We have 5 ewz_show_rating shortcodes; the buttons are ‘Commended’, ‘Highly Commended’ & ‘Best’; there are 15 buttons next to each image after a refresh.

]]>After updating EWZ-Rating to the newest version our website showed a that it had a critical error. I had to contact our hosting provider and ask them to disable the plugin to get our site back. every time it is enabled the same thing happens. Thoughts?

]]>is it possible to allow guests to view images with the rating form in ‘read’ mode?
currently no option but ‘all logged-in users’.
Our photo club uses a set of three judges for our annual year=end competition. We use a 1-5 rating system (actually 1.0 to 5.0 system). In these Covid-19 times, we’re trying to do this remotely this year. We would collect images (via EntryWizard) and have the judges subsequently rate the images. I’ve been looking at a different WordPress plugin that seems to limit judges to a 1-5 rating for each image.
I wanted to confirm that EWZ-Rating gives the flexibility collect rating from judges in the form we could use. The source code suggests this is the case, but it’s not specific about the format of ratings.
One other related question: What WordPress User Role do you suggest for judges?
Thank you!
]]>Hi Josie, we’ve been using EWZ-Rating for the past 2-3 years. It’s a great tool. We’re encountering a problem after we moved to a new hosting provider and installed the latest version of EWZ-Rating (1.1.15): When one selects a new image to view (either by clicking Next in the image window, or by clicking a new image in the rating form), the rating form scroll all the way back to the top of the page so the judge has to scroll down and find the entry to enter scores. Any idea why this is happening and how can we get around this?
Thanks
– Jonathan
On a judging page, is there a way to force the “Show drop-down selections as buttons” option as the default or only option? Our rating system is basic consisting only of scores from 1 to 5 in three categories. The buttons option seems easier to use. Thanks.
]]>I adjust the min height from 150 to 10.
It fill the screen but some images are too large
Our submissions are 1400×1050.
Is this the reason they are too big?
Is there any other setting?
The height of the border at the top of the rating page image viewer is fixed at 150 pixels. it seem to be hard coded. i don’t have the skills to modify code and a friend tried a few modifications but nothing that permanently changes the top border. I think 50 pixels would be plenty. Can you provide guidance on how to accomplish this.
]]>Hello,
Due to the current health restrictions on group meetings, I am working to get the Entry Wizard Rating form working. In lieu of the live judging, we need to have the judges score images from home.
I have been able to get the system to work for me with the exception of the download speed of the images. There are 255 images with a total file size of 222MB. The download of the rating page times out and a number of refreshes (4-5) are required to complete the download of all the data. Subsequent visits to the rating page take about 30 seconds to download.
I’ve tried three PCs, three browsers and two internet providers, with no difference in result.
i am also starting a ticket with the hosting company to see if they are throttling the download because of repeated separate actions.
]]>Good Morning,
I apologize if this question is elementary but I find myself at a standstill in implementing EWZ_Rating.
I get all the way to the judge’s view but all that I see is the info the contestant has entered.
In my reading and research so far, I see a Rating Table referenced but do not find this when logged in as judge. I do have the ability to change attributes of the Rating Table in the Rating Scheme.
However, I see no way, as a judge to rate the photo.
I must be missing something simple …those are the ones that throw you!!! (:
Please assist …thanks in advance.
]]>I have installed, unsinatllnstall and reintall.
Yet the rating form sample and the schemes do not show at all.
I have entrywizards installed and working fine.
I am login in to wordpress as admin.
Is there a setting to check or uncheck that will show the rating and the scheme sample?
Please advise.
Etobicoke Camera Club – we are beginning to use the ewz-rating this season. it appears that images are presented in the order they were upload. i.e.: usually one maker’s images are consecutive. is there a way to randomize this? thks
]]>Hi there,
I’m trying to work my way through installing a ratings system, but I keep getting this message: [RS009] *** EntryWizard ERROR *** Failed to create rating scheme.
Anything obvious I might be doing wrong?

]]>Hi Josie
When I or a judge goes to the judging module it says screen is too small even though we are using 1920×1080 screen. I made sure the setting in the Eze ratings is set for 1400×1050 which is our entry wizard size setting but we get this message screen too small. I had to reduce to 90% to get the images to display without the message. One judge has a screen of 2560×1600 and gets the same error when I do not resize.
This is for Trillium club in Burlington I also run the Hamilton club for the last 3 years without any problem but will know more when I activate the Judges Ratings since the last update.
]]>So sorry to be a bother but I have run into a problem that I’m hoping can be resolved. For our club competition last month two images were required in the set subject. I placed two image upload columns in the one entry. Unfortunately I hadn’t realized that this would create both images having the same wp item ID. Now when creating the rating form both images load on top of one another when the thumbnail is clicked. Is there any way I can fix this? Is it possible to change the ID on one of the images? Thank you so much for your time.
]]>Hi Jose –would it be possible to get a link to the previous version of EWZ-Rating? I have 1.1.0 installed. I would like to reinstall the previous version if possible. Thanks for your help!
]]>After the latest update v 1.1.0 I can no longer open images from the thumbnail in the ratings form. Also when I go to the judging page logged in as administrator and click on the relevant judge nothing happens. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins. Works fine on my localhost test site. The only difference I can see between the test site and live site is the php version. Using php version 5.4.31 on the test site and 7.0.25 on the live site. Do you think this may be the problem. In the mean time I have rolled back ewz rating to Version 1.0.14
]]>In the rating form, when click on an image, a nice popup comes up to show the juror the detail of the image. This is great. However, it has the text: “Display a Test Image” in the lower right of this window. The lower left says “previous and next” which is great. However, the “Display a Test Image” is not meaningful. I see when I click on it I get RGBtestImg.jpg but I’m afraid this is going to be confusing to our jurors. Is there anyway I can get rid of this test button?
Thanks, Judy
]]>Trying to set up the judging for our art show. The format of the judging form is very different from the entry form. The columns seems to be centered and the multi-line long text fields are too wide. I show here the entry form…columns and fields are appropriately sized and placed on the form:https://celebrationofclay.com/capture1/
Here is the judging form, which is virtually unuseable. It appears that the “Description” field is not displayed the same as on the entry form, so it’s length pushes everything to the right. https://celebrationofclay.com/capture2/
I show here the Title and Description fields on the EZW Layout record that is used for both the entry form and the jurying form: https://celebrationofclay.com/capturelayout/
Can you suggest what I am doing wrong or suggest what CSS overrides I could do? I didn’t have this problem initially. It started either after an update or after I increased the size of the description field…I’m not sure which.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
