I’ve been using this for a very long time on one of my sites when I needed to jerry rig a solution together to display different ad groups on posts based on their category.

We’re looking to load a video widget only to desktop users. Hiding it would not work as it would likely still run in the background if hidden. Is it possible to load a widget just if device type is desktop, define a rule for loading on screens over say, 700px?

This is a great widget with one big problem: If you deactivate the widget, it loses all the text because it does not save it in the database. The widget should save the entries so deactivating and reactivating does not cause it to lose its data.
