Hi,

We are using the “Insert from URL” option to add documents, but these are not showing up either in preview or the published page.

Uploading the image to the media library works, but we need to link to a URL outside of our site, where the document is being kept up to date.

There is no error message or anything to indicate what might be causing the problem – it is just blank.

Unfortunately, the page is behind a login on our client portal, so I can’t share a link.

Is there anything you can suggest that might help?

Does this Plugin support PDF-Layers? Or is there a live environment somewhere where I can test my PDFs?

We are using this plugin for embedding the pdf’s. On the desktop version PDFs are shown the pdf data but when the screen reaches 1024px or below the pdf’s data is not visible. The page or post shows “No preview” and is sometimes blank. We have tested the plugin on 3 websites but the error is the same. Please take a look if you can do something.

When we update the file, it is not updating on peoples computers until they clear their browsing data. Is there any way to get the file to update with a page refresh?

Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge all show a toolbar at the top, but Safari shows a floating toolbar with just the options to zoom, download and click to open the pdf. We wanted a top toolbar in all browsers that shows tools for scrolling through pages, zooming in and out, printing and downloading. Can your plugin do that?

2. Also, I get the same results using the iframe or embed tags. Is there a difference between your plugin and using the embed tag other?

Hi there, is this plugin working with the last version of WP : WP 6.3.1. I’m on 6.1.3 wondering if I can update to 6.3.1 as the plugin is not tested after WP 6.2.2

This is the best plugin which full fills my expectations. It works perfectly for Super Admins of the multisite networks. Also, it allows all user roles to add PDFs and publish the post. But the PDF is not loading on the web if user roles except Super Admins publish the post (i.e. Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor).

Super Admins:
-Can add PDFs and publish posts
-PDFs are loading on the web

Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor:
-Can add PDFs and publish posts
-PDFs are not loading on the web (in both PC and mobiles)
-Shows error “This block contains unexpected or invalid content. Attempt Block Recovery” if we go for edit post.
-Works fine if the Super Admin edits the posts published by others.

Please guide me to solve this issue.

Is there any way this fine plugin might also support .txt files? Easy to do?

I need to display on screen a PDF file and its .txt transcription. I would love to do this all in a single plugin. This one really fits the bill for the PDF side of this task.

I installed the Embed PDF Viewer plugin, and from the plugin description screen, in toeria it should show the file as if it were an image, instead it also shows me the part of download, print, preview of the pages, in short stuff I don’t want to see.
is it possible to show only the content of the file as if it were an image ????

When I create an Embed PDF block in a page and select a PDF that I’ve uploaded to my media library, I get the error:

“The editor has encountered an unexpected error.” Three buttons are available, none of which does anything when clicked – “Attempt Recovery” – “Copy Post Text” – “Copy Error”.

After I reload the page editor of the page I’m working on (and the page itself), the PDF is not embedded, but it’s still in the media library.

I am using wordpress 5.2.4 (when I update WP it breaks my site) on a Windows 10 desktop with Firefox 96.0.1 (does the same thing on Chrome desktop), with a fairly obsolete theme, Lensa. Theme developer has been defunct for a few years now but I haven’t decided what theme will replace it yet so I am limping along.

Works in chrome and firefox but not working in safari the page seems to be stuck in some infinite loop?

is it possible to show only an image instead the embed pdf view. A click at the fullscreen link would then open the embed pdf. I need 5 pdf‘s in each row. If I change the pdf widht to the column widht then Only a small part of the embed pdf is shown.

Thanks for this plugin, which I’ve just started using after a test with others to find one that suited me.

I’ve a problem though, in that changing the block alignment to center, right, alignwide or alignfull makes no difference to the presentation. At first I thought it was my theme, so I tried it on a test site using twenty-twenty-one. The block always stays aligned to the left-hand column.

I know that alignwide (and alignfull) is just a style that gets inserted into the code, so I added it manually under the Advanced tab for the block properties – and the block correctly aligned wide. To me then it looks as if the style code isn’t being added when the block alignment is changed.

Is this an issue you (or anyone else) can replicate, and if so what’s the fix (apart from manually adding the style every time)?

I was able to add a PDF but when I open the page it shows the PDF with a column to the left. Is there a way to start with that side-bar minimized?

It would be nice if there’s an option to set width in percentages instead of pixels.

I’m getting reports from one or two users that when viewing the page in the link, Iphone users get a blank box. Apparently it works fine on an Ipad and I know it’s good on a desktop and Android phone. I can’t test it myself (I can’t afford such luxuries as Iphones!) and I can’t see anything on the support site that specifically refers to Iphones. I’m using the Divi theme but I’ve stopped the “fitvids” script from loading on that page.

Any ideas?

First of all, this plugin is really neat, thank you! It works perfectly on desktop. However, on my mobile device (Android, chrome browser), there is a large gap of white space above the PDF viewer. Any idea how to resolve this?

I copied the PDF embed code into a Divi text module, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
