I wanted to SHOW them documents in situ as well as enable them to easily download them and, after looking at other solutions, this plugin is PERFECT for this.

I have used this for more than a year now. It just works.
I can embed directly fine standard pdf publications with printable layout without re-entering text. User can download them.
I can update pdfs versions. Easy.
Still I did not have use another formats yet.
I have some old xls’s entered into old wp table tool and the update takes time.
