Unfortunately with PHP 7.4 being discontinued, we are forced to update to PHP 8.0 which crashes the “send email” page when you hit the “Notify Users” link in the post/product page. The email forms simply don’t load making it impossible to send the email notifications. I’m not an expert but the errors point to WordPress deprecated actions.
Email Users has become such a vital tool to our business that ou company would gladly pay the developer for a stable version. In that sense, I’d like to ask if you have someone in mind or if someone has taken over the plugin to provide future updates? Do let me know, we’d be forever grateful.

The email users function of my Worpress.org website is no longer working (since Tuesday, April 5, 2022 or so). I have got version 4.8.8 by Mike Walsh & Marvin Labbs installed. Could it have something to do with the latest plugin updates that I installed? How do I fix the problem?

As create_function() have been deprecated and removed in PHP 8, can someone rewrite the code starting on line 885 in email-users.php?

I’ve a bug with your plugin.
When install the name of plugin is “Notifications” and same in dashboard menu and all work good.
But after few time or when changing page the plugin name change to “Email users” in plugin list and dashboard menu, and when click menu it’s redirect in frontend with 404 error O_o

I am using this plugin for a membership site. It is working fine and sending emails properly. The only issue is that every time I send an email and go to Email Users again, it shows this error “This page doesn’t seem to exist.”
This gets fixed when I refresh the permalinks.
But I have to reset permalinks after each and every time I use this plugin to send emails.
How can I fix this issue?

We have a number of users who are making edits on existing posts (custom post types). When the addressee receives a notification e-mail generated by your plugin, do they have to be logged in to go directly to the post? We are seeing some strange behavior.

Anyone got any ideas why the plugin just stopped showing all my group levels on the “send to group(s)” page.
We just crossed over the 1100 subscriber mark so could that be it? I have read hints that it doesn’t work well with a lot of subscribers.
OR is there any working alternative to this plugin? wp_email_users is really badly broken. It seems like such a fundamental thing to want to do!

But USER GROUP has not been updated until 5 years.

So my question is :
Will i be able to dend mails to users, make group lists, set templates for mails

On the recommendation of my hosting company I installed the plugin and went through all the setup instructions including creating the email template to send to my subscribers, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to actually send the email. What am I missing?

I saw that the subject has been raised in the forum but there does not seem to be an answer to the question.

I am trying to send a message to the subscribers on my site. But when I open the Send To Group(s) page, no groups appear in the Recipients box. I checked the Users and they all seem to have Notifications and Mass Email set to “On.”

I do have 10K subscribers. Could that be it?

If I look at the Email User settings I see numerous users who have notification and mass email set to off. How would users set this as I have “Allow Users to control their own Email Users setting” unticked, so they should not be able to change their settings. ( Default is to allow “Receive post or page notification emails.” and “Receive emails sent to multiple recipients.” )

Also in the User Settings display the columns Notifications and Mass Email both show as sortable, but do not seem to work. I was hoping to be able to click on say Notifications to show all the OFF values grouped together … but they are still scattered randomly throughout the page lists.

We needed some personalization in our mails sent by email-users. To get this working we added extra filters inside of the current plugin. These extra filters make it possible to add user tags that could be replaced.

I was wondering if we can add this in the current plugin? That way we do not break any future updates.

We altered a few small things in email-users.php:

Line 1798:
$orginalMailtext = $mailtext;

Line 1837 we added:

This option will only work if you place the setting ‘BBC limit’ to 1. Because if you BCC the mail personalization isn’t possible.

Once this is added you can add personalization tags in your own plugin:
