]]>The is a good plugin for doing something important very simply. There are just a few minor bugs and defects I ran into:
- The CPT used for downloads seems not to be registered properly, and you can’t edit the author assigned to each download. It’s also possible to visit the individual download pages where their descriptions are displayed like posts. These should be inaccessible or else display the actual download form so they can function like landing pages. Having both options would be nice, as well as a simple URL like …/downloads/…
- Pressing ‘Return’ instead of clicking the Submit button after typing an email address reloads the page; it does not submit the form.
- Emails are addressed from “WordPress,” as others have mentioned.
- Emails can be sent repeatedly to the same address. This could be abused.
- An easy way to download or at least copy a list of collected emails is needed.
File is added and when it emails the recipitant it doesnt lead to anything just says file does not exsit what am i doing wrong?

I’m trying to use this plugin to track people downloads on my website.
Would be really great for me to send to the user an email with a “website download page link” and not directly a “download link”.
In this way the user can choose what to download.
Is it possible to do this on this version? If not.. someone can suggest me a solution?

]]>Hello, I bought the Mailchimp extension but when I choose the double opt in option I don’t receive the confirmation mail for the newsletter sign up.
The mail with the download link is being delivered and the download link works. The PDF turns out to be corrupted though and cannot be opened.
If you can send me a support email address I can send you a link to check for yourself.

For some reason when a user clicks the link in the email to download a pdf, the pdf is being downloaded as a corrupted file, and wont open :/.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for that great plugin. Everything is working fine but I am having a little issue with just one part.
When the visitor click on Get download link…we get the following message “Thank you! Please check your inbox (or spam) for download link email. This link will be expired for 5 hour(s).”
The website I am developing is actually in French and I could change every text in french except for the “Thank you! Please check your inbox (or spam) for download link email. This link will be expired for 5 hour(s).”
Is there a solution for that?

When I go to Add New, and complete title, description, and then “upload file” nothing appears. Can’t upload a file. I tried in both Mac/PC, and in different explorers.
Anyway to fix this?

I have just dowloaded the plugin and need some direction. I have created a “page” which appears under “all downloads” = ETD downloads. I have uploaded a document to that page.
When I attempt to add that shortcode to the POST – it is grayed out now allowing me to make a selection
When I attemtp to add that shortdoce to a PAGE – it allows for me to make the selections and the document that was downloaded. but when i click to “Insert short code”, i receive an error to choose a downloadable product

there is a major problem with plugin. As some users reported plugin generates link to corrupted files. The downloaded file is bigger than original and in source code of this corrupted file at the end there is a source code of website with download link.

By default, WordPress uses the name “WordPress” and address “[email protected]” when it sends notifications to users. Admittedly, it is not very aesthetic!
This tip will explain the procedure for changing the name and address.
It is through two filters WordPress that we can edit. This is wp_mail_form and wp_mail_form_name. The first is used to change the shipping address and the second changes the name of the sender.
Open the functions.php file in your theme and paste the following code:

The last sentence should really say “This link will expire in 24 hour(s).”
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Great plugin, but Im facing 2 issues.
1. Translation doesn’t work.
Im using POedit pro, as you might now it can parse php files and create a .POT, after that I translated some parts of it and saved my .po and .mo file. Transferred both files to /languages (in plugin folder).
However the translation doesn’t work…
I have to edit the plugin core files in order to make it work.
How can I solve this issue , and make the language files work ?
2. Styling issue.
Same goes for CSS, I copied some parts of the css from the plugin files and pasted it in my style.css and tried to edit it (!important).
However nothing happens.
How can I fix this ?

Hi, i admire the plugin email to download, everything is working properly beside two issues:
<b>1. when new subscribers download the file i cannot get email in my inbox that notify me, but the subscribers are added in the list, but not email that notify me.</b>
