Firstable the plugin does what it should do, and it’s easy to configure. So it could be a pretty nice plugin. Sadly the GDPR function doesn’t work. You can click send without ticking the GDPR box. That makes it, at least from a legal point of view, useless. The error is visible even on the demo page for the plugin. I tried to contact the author, but sadly didn’t get a reply.

Had to uninstall this because it would often send the wrong file to users. It also didn’t export emails, I had to manually export emails from the database.

This plugin is just amazing. It does serve the purpose of asking for a email address and it sends emails to acknowledge both the Admin of the site and the viewer, + refreshes the download links on a cron job. Just perfect!

Very happy with this plugin. I have several download files and this plugin is able to send a customized e-mail without having to generate several e-mail templates.

I spent the better part of a day trying — without success — in finding a simple plug-in that would allow me to offer a download in return for an email address.
The big name said they offered a solution, but they didn’t work — tons of glitches.
Then I stumbled upon this Masterpiece in Simplicity: it does all it says and more. A child could easily install and it works, works, works.
There should be more plugins like this. If I had to offer a slogan for the company that created this, it would be: Simplicity Equals Perfection. Less is more.

Too bad as most worked nicely. Got the email giving the link but download didn’t happen. The clock just stop to zero, then nothing. Also, the notice to admin went into spam folder, filtered by hosting.

Very nice plugin. Does exactly what’s needed without unnecessary complexity. Good job. After installing the plugin I noticed that it was only visible for Administrator roles. Would be great to extend or be able to extend this to Editor role as well.

“Email download link” is very straight forward, but has all the necessary functionality – except one: For B2B purposes one additional field “Company” is absolutely mandatory.

Have spent Days working with another similar plugin that requires 2 additional plugins to work. Unfortunately, the required specific download plugin does not play nice.
Tried Email Download Link and worked immediately. No going back and forth between three plugins.
Only disadvantage is the lack of formatting for the contact form and the download button.
However, this is really a minor detail as plugin is limited to 4 setup pages that really are easy to fill out with the help of well-written screenshots.
