First of all, I would like to commend you on the excellent and user-friendly WordPress plugin “Email download link.” It has been helpful for us so far!

We are using the plugin to track our forms with a CMS tool. However, we have encountered a small issue: Every time a form is submitted, a new ID is generated, resulting in a new form registration. Is there a way to maintain a fixed ID? I might have overlooked a setting, so I’m reaching out to you for assistance.

i’ve using the plugin to send files to users who submitted the emal. and also i want to download the file automatically after user submit. but the automatic download is not work. even i set “Yes” to that option for show download link. email is working fine but no button to download afte submission on front end. Can you please help what am i doing wrong or is there some other problrm.

If the download link is invoked from a page whose URL contains a ?, in my case e.g. for the german language version /<stub>/?lang=de, the generated download link adds another ? instead of a &, leading to a redirect of the original page instead of actually processing the download link and returning the file.

Many emails land in the spam section, especially at gmail with the wp mail or php mail method.

The email sends an empty file that shows an error when it is downloaded.

I’ve verified that the file is correctly uploaded in the WP site:

1. Direct media link to file (this works):
   • https://midstateconcrete.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/2014021015104294258_clarifiers_3750_4500.dwg
2. Email link to file (downloaded file is empty):
   • https://midstateconcrete.com/?ed=download&guid=joehlr-jxcvns-yuwbqx-wicbdv-kbmlzd–mxikhp-tydokf-mvjygx-laqhfe-qsxzef

File type is a DWG file that can be opened in viewer.autodesk.com

thanks for this great plugin.

During trying GDPR settings I found the following

1. if letting GDPR setting unchecked in the form an email is sent to email if checkbox is turned off
2. If setting “Save downloader name/email” in the admin page in tab “GDPR consent” the name and the email address are sent to the admin

For comnpliance reasons to GDPR my expectation is
1. There is no email sent if consent is not given
2. The name and the email address are not saved anywhere if the option Save downloader name/email is set to NO

I cannot save the changes in the download mail (Download mail tab). when I hit “save” I get the “Forbidden” server page. Other tabs do save.

I would thank the developers of this plugin because it answered exactly my needs.

Unfortunately, on my site it seems does not work properly.

I receive the mail after filling the form, and also the link seems working ok.

But the downloaded file is resulting corrupted or is not recognized in the right format.

I compared the downloaded file and the original one with a hexadecimal reader, and I found that the issue could be due to the first characters “\t \n”, but I can not understand why they were added.

First of all, I wanted to thank you for the plugin. I find it very useful for the web that I am managing.
I have a query with the history. I did not see that there is a setting that clears the history. I had it set up in 7 days. I lost 70% of the download listing. Is there any way to recover that data?

Hi, thank you for this simple and useful plugin. Not sure if you are aware, or if it’s the intended behavior. But I notice if I delete the download records from the history, the # of downloads still stays the same. I was expecting it to go back to 0. Not a big deal, but just thought I’d mention this. Other thought, on this history page, it would be helpful to be able to select multiple, or select all for deletion, instead of having to click the x on each one. These are minor issues of course.

When I fill in information w/ my name and email, I’m not getting anything in my inbox (checked spam as well it’s empty)
I do get notified on my Admin email about new download but be download link is being sent to the filled email address.

I would like to download some pdf files. However, the downloaded file is assigned the wrong mime type—text/html—making it impossible for the default file viewer to display the downloaded pdf file.

How can this be fixed?

When I try to export emails, I get an error message:
“Unexpected url submit has been detected. Same URL is not detected.”

I can’t export them to my mailing list. Is there a fix for this?

hcaptcha is alternative to Google’s own captcha service. can support be added?

I have “Show direct download” set to YES in general settings but do not see it when I submit and email address. Is there something else I need to do?

Your plugin is exactly what I need and is very simple to use. But I would like to display a customized html success message when the form is completed.
Now, when I try to do that, it doesn’t work and the html code is displayed on the page instead of being rendered as html.
Is it possible ? And if not, can you direct me to the file I should modify to add that functionality.

I have a second question :
When I add the phone field, how can I edit the field title and content?

Within plugin settings, Ive entered text string for the ‘Detailed description for GDPR checkbox’, but when I view the form on the front end, it only shows the GDPR consent checkbox and ‘Text to display after GDPR checkbox in the download form.’

To fix this, I added the following code to line 163 of file: /classes/ed-shortcode.php

if ($gdpr[‘ed_c_gdprmessage’]) : $ed_gdpr_html .= ‘<p>’.$gdpr[‘ed_c_gdprmessage’].'</p>’; endif;

Is there anyway, the plugin can be updated to include this code so the change isnt lost when updating the plugin ?

In fact, as per WP-Crontrol notice, it seems to work. But EDL doesn’t take notice of it. “Last run” column just shows a row of zeros, and download links are not renewed. I’ve deinstalled and reinstalled, and deactivated some other plugins which could possibly interfere, with no luck. Any help on how to proceed will be appreciated.

What can I do to see all the different emailadresses?
