Hi! Please can you update this so newer icons are available? We need to be able to use X, for example. Uploading a custom icon to use alongside Font Awesome icons never really works okay as it’s hard to get them all the same size.
Thanks!
]]>I have been tinkering with this plugin for two or three days now. I think what I am trying to achieve should be very straightforward, but I can’t get it to work. I am using the shortcode to insert five social icons in my site footer. To achieve that, I am using the shortcode that the plugin generates.
Now, after I have all my icons set up and tweaked, and when I insert the shortcode into the page footer and publish, everything looks perfect. The icons display exactly where they are supposed to be, and the links work perfectly. Everything seems to be fine, but it’s not fine because using a browser that is not logged in, no icons display. I have checked for any special user permissions, etc., and there does not seem to be anything that should prevent these icons from displaying.
I am not a developer, I don’t have expert level knowledge, but I do know my way around the WordPress dashboard, and I think I could fairly describe myself as an intermediate user, but definitely not a developer. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, can anyone tell me what the solution might be? Alternatively, if anyone can suggest a plugin, ideally a free one, that this can be achieved in, then that would be appreciated also.
At time of writing the issue can be seen on my website Top Chefs Recruitment.
I am kind of at the point now where the size of the problem is becoming overshadowed by the amount of time I have spent trying to fix it, and I am close to just abandoning even trying. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
]]>I’ve been using this plug-in for a long time. It’s the most flexible free plugin I can find that allows me to use my own svg files in a block theme.
With the php fix provided by @ov3rfly, this plug-in served me very well. However, now with CVE-2023-33998, it appears I have no choice but switch to another one.
Anyone have any recommendation? Thanks a lot

Hi, im using last ver of wordpress. I’ve enable debug log and i have this – PHP Notice: Функцията wpdb::prepare е извикана погрешно. Аргументът на wpdb::prepare() трябва да има подсказка.
Basicaly, it comes from easy social plugin. If i disable it, i’m not getting that anymore. Can we expect upgrade on that plugin with fix for that error?
]]>Hello,
I posted the following 9 months ago:
Apparently since recent WordPress updates the plugin is producing a notice:
`PHP Notice: Function wpdb::prepare was called incorrectly. The query argument of wpdb::prepare() must have a placeholder. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.9.0.) in /srv/http/wordpress/freehostingreviews/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5831′
This causes the display of a link: Debugging in WordPress to be displayed at the top of the page. If the plugin is deactivated the link disappears.
I never received a reply. The WordPress page for this plugin has a link:
For faster support please contact us here.
If this is clicked it opens the plugin page with an email form, but this immediately disappears if the page is scrolled.
This is the current message in the debug.log file:PHP Notice: Function wpdb::prepare was called incorrectly. The query argument of wpdb::prepare() must have a placeholder. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.9.0.) in /home/u440861037/public_html/fwhr/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5835
Only when the Easy Social Icons plugin is activated, this message floods the debug.log file and is a nuisance when debugging other code.
Is this plugin abandonded?
I’ve seen various posts asking about this, but no solution. Sorry if I didn’t search hard enough.
The custom icons are PNG files that I uploaded to the Media system, with dimensions of approx 230 px. They appear substantially smaller than the fontawesome ones.
See https://imgur.com/a/6l9Lysk for a screenshot.
Thanks!
]]>The range of fontawesome icons offered by the plugin seems limited. Perhaps it’s only the Brands collection? Not sure.
I’m looking for an RSS icon, which is something that has been in FA since version 2, but it doesn’t show.
Help please?
Thanks ??
I’m trying to add ORCID (https://orcid.org/) to my social icons. It was only added to Fontawesome in 5.11, so the current version of this plugin does not support it. Could we have an update please?

]]>When we have ESI plugin active, it stops WooCommerce from using some of the FontAwesome icons that are built into the Woo UI. For example, when you are on the checkout there’s a bar asking you if you have a coupon, with an exclamation mark icon. When ESI is active, the icon is not loaded; when I deactivate it, it loads fine.
Strangely, not all Woo icons are affected.
There is nothing in the browser console that’s different in the two situations.
Woo is using:
font-family: “Font Awesome 5 Free”;
I have verified this issue on other sites where we use Woo and Easy Social Icons.

Hi, i’m trying to add social icon to my footer.
<?php if ( function_exists('cn_social_icon') ) echo cn_social_icon(); ?>
Can you tell me how exactly and where to add that code? Function, footer file? I’ve tried footer, does not work.

Hello,
I posted more than 6 months ago:
jQuery.fn.hover() is deprecated /wp-content/plugins/easy-social-icons/js/cnss.js
After waiting several weeks for an update, I fixed the issue myself.
Yesterday I installed the new plugin update, but forgot that I had changed the code to fix the deprecated jQuery.fn.hover() issue and now have the deprecated code again, since update did not fix it. Can you please update the cnss.js file.
]]>I’m trying to link a client’s LinkedIn page. The url is: https://www.linkedin.com/company/acerbo’s-auto-trim-&-lettering/
When saved the Easy Social plugin adds a slash to the comma, leaving the url: https://www.linkedin.com/company/acerbo\’s-auto-trim-&-lettering/
Then when clicked, LinkedIn says the url can’t be found. Is there a workaround?
Thanks.

]]>Please be advised of following deprecated jQuery property:

This is a great plugin, but unfortunately it breaks some other font awesome icons, for example the facebook icon. This happens when you use font awesome icons outside of the plugin.
Can this be fixed?
]]>Hi, hope you’re well.
There are two issues I have with the plugin that I want to report. One is more of an improvement, which I would like to see.
There is no option for adding the html attribute “rel” to the anchor tag (a). The rel=”external nofollow noreferrer” is a crucial component to get a higher SEO score. The workaround was to use Javascript and programatically insert the attribute in the social icon links. Is there any chance of seeing this as an option in the future?
The second bit is an encoding problem I guess. I cannot copy-paste an encoded link in the URL. For example: https://www.example.com/%D0%9F%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B8%D1%81%D1%8A%D1%82-103686774889997 cannot be copied but https://www.example.com/Полисът-103686774889997 can be. I don’t know if that’s a bug but I think it’s worth investigating.
One extra thing that bugged me for a while is that there is no much control on the margin and padding of the icons. I don’t know if again, that’s design decision or it something not implemented yet.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Thanks for this plugin.
I would like to use this with customizer (customify) but can’t get it to work.
Added
add_filter(‘widget_text’, ‘do_shortcode’);
to my functions.php but nothing shows.
Could you point me to the right direction?
