After installing this plug in, whenever I try to publish a post or log in, the wordpress redirect isn’t working, all I see is a blank page then need to manually enter the address to get back to the admin menu area in wordpress.
]]>I found this to be a great start on a plugin but needed much more.
1) It needed a progress bar because end users would cancel the upload thinking the system had stalled
2) It needed a captcha because unless you hide the page from search engines it gets spammed multiple times a day on any site with any traffic. Even hiding the page I was getting spam submissions daily.
3) you can only upload one file at a time.
I solved this issue and developed a new plugin I call Real FTP Upload and a description of it can be found here:
I have tested it on several wordpress installs and found no issues. Works perfectly.
]]>I set this up also using filezilla server. So people are going to my site and uploading files directly to my desktop which is super handy. However I am getting a lot of spam submissions so I decided to go ahead and implement a captcha code to the plugin which can be seen here:
]]>After reloading this plugin on 3.5.1 after a client’s plugin folder got hacked, I noticed that I could no longer open the media uploader window using the media button on pages or posts. Had to delete it.
]]>I could use a plugin like this, but like so many others it does not work quite right on my current WordPress 3.5.1 release. This leads me in to another topic…
I’m doing a series of articles and some background research on why WordPress plugin authors stop working on useful plugins like this. I’d love to hear your comments!

]]>Hi
My clients need to load zip files.
Currently the size limit is 8MB so these file uploads are failing. How do I increase the limit and what is the maximum I can increase it to.
Thanks
Debbie
]]>does this work with the latest wordpress 3.5.1 getting an error The error is due to not able to upload to the remote host it works in a regular ftp
]]>I set-up the plugin to upload files to my webhosting FTP server (Godadd) and everything worked great. I changed the settings to point to my business’ FTP server and I get the error “Connection attempt failed!”. I know my local FTP server is functioning because I can connect to it just fine using a web browser or other client (like Cyberduck).
Is there some setting on my local FTP server that needs to be changed or something I can edit in the plug-in?
I’ve tried to find plugins similer to Easy FTP Upload that are still being actively developed, but came up empty handed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
]]>I am translating the front end fields of the plugin for a french site I am working on and run into a couple of snags.
1. – I cannot find where to change the text of the “Choose File” button. Can you tell me where this is.
2. – The Submit and Reset buttons are too short from the French versions, is there way to make them longer?
]]>Is there way now, or are there any plans to have a download link or the actual uploaded file attached to the notification email?
]]>I’ve been testing this today and it uploads the files but I never get any confirmation emails, what am I missing?
]]>The plugin seems to have a file called “Easy_FTP_Admin.html” which has settings/options for multiple FTP locations (which is exactly what I’m looking for). There is the text “This plugin can support multiple versions, each with different login and notification credentials…”
However, when I install the plugin to my WordPress site, that particular file doesn’t seem to be in use. At least I can not reach it.
Does anyone know how can I get this multiple mode into action?
]]>Someone asked how to make this plugin send email notification to multiple receivers. This is how it works for me:
Simply separate the email addresses with a comma (,):
[email protected],[email protected]
Note that there is no space between the addresses.
]]>Fatal error: Call to undefined function ftp_connect() in /customers/6/1/e/fotodoktoren.com/httpd.www/wp-content/plugins/easy-ftp-upload/Easy_FTP_Upload.php on line 154
I get this error code when I try to transfer a file.
Any idea what’s wrong?
Is anyone using this with woo commerce or any other ecommerce plugin? I’m hoping to adapt this to a print shop website I working with and want to add file upload to a step in the store checkout process.
Would also love to see some other sites that implement this plugin.
]]>The plugin works fine when I run locally on an Apache server (WAMP) setup. However when I try to run live, it fails.
My webhost is network solutions, and when I run the page to upload a file, the page sits there for a good minute or two, and then errors out with the following:
500: Internal server error
This error is generated when a script running on the server could not be implemented or permissions are incorrectly assigned for files or directories
Troubleshooting suggestions:
Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.
Ensure that any CGI or Perl scripts have at least .755. permissions.
If trying to run PHP and you get this error, you may have an invalid php.ini in your /cgi-bin, or may be missing your php.dat file in this folder.
And the log file says the following:
Premature end of script headers: index.php
I have increased the mem setting in the PHP.ini file. Other than that, I am stumped as to what I could be missing.
Any help, comments, suggestions, etc – greatly appreciated!
James.
I would just like to know from the developer whether this plugin will work on the newest wordpress version.
]]>A brief question: Is there a proven way to introduce a reCAPTCHA section that will work with a page for file uploads which uses “Easy FTP Upload” plugin?
That is, can I validate human (not bot / spam) FTP upload submissions with a secondary reCAPTCHA form? I already have the API keys from Google.
I am a rank beginner, so plain layman terminology is appreciated :-}
Thanks for any advice!
]]>Hi thar! This plugin is exactly what I’m looking for, we need our customers to upload both music-files, and images for their CDs.
And we also want to be able to send the notification e-mail to multiple e-mail contacts, I tried using [email protected]; [email protected] with no success.
Can I just edit the html- file to add more upload windows, (or make it possible to upload multiple files?)
Thanks for any helpful reply
]]>For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to install Blog Control. I’d like AdSense on my blog, but I’m starting to feel ‘short bus’ special here. If someone could give me easy to follow, step-by-step instructions, I’d be over the moon happy.
HELP!! ??
Thanks.
]]>Is it possible to modify this plugin a bit to allow multiple ftp upload destinations? My client wants one for the general public and two others for current clients.

]]>Requirements:
1. Need to send clients files. Mostly zipped files or folders containing photos. We do this most often.
2. Need to have clients send us files. Mostly zipped files or folders containing photos.
3. Other files which are on the FTP site must NOT be visible to the client.
4. Large files 1 to 2 gigs in size are common.
Questions:
1. Will this plugin do that?
2. Could we set up and delete client accounts as we need them?
FTP Features I like from other companies:
1. I like the commercial print companies which have a form field type design for uploading files to. Although I have never uploaded an open folder or zip file, just pdfs. This would be good for clients sending us a file.
2. I like the ease of use when an agency sends us a link for a file and it automatically downloads without a password when we click on it. This would be good to send to clients when we have a file for them to download.
Looking forward to your reply!
]]>This is exactly what I am looking for, however it appears that PHP upload limitations are 2MB. Am I missing something, or can anyone suggest how I can get around this limitation? Thanks in advance.
]]>Hi,
I would like to change this form slightly. When I edit the .html file I lose the boxes. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
]]>It seems like you’ve made a great plugin, and I know it works with other people but it doesn’t work for me and I don’t know why. Hopefully I can explain my problems and you’ll know what’s going wrong.
page being tested: https://imagelotus.com/upload
Everything is fine until I try to upload a file. The first file I tested was a 20mb ZIP file. The upload progress seemed fine, and when it reached 100% the page reset to a blank upload form. I went to check for the file and nothing was there though.
Now, whenever I try to upload something I’m getting an error message “Connection attempt failed!”. I’ve tested multiple filetypes (JPG, ZIP, MP3, etc.), multiple FTP accounts (including root), and I’ve set the target upload folder (root folder for a dedicated FTP account) to 777. When I attempt an upload, the progress will reach 100% before I get an error message. I’ve checked my FTP info and I’ve successfully used it to log into my site via FTP client.
What am I missing, or what am I doing wrong?
]]>I just installed easy FTP upload and so far, after a few tests, it’s working well. (WP 3.1, Suffusion theme)
I made a password protected page, so only relevant files will be uploaded to my FTP. My clients are given that password when nessacery.
For download purpose, I give them the direct link to my FTP by email.
I translated it into French. I would have liked to give it to the developer, but I cant find how to reach him/her…too bad !
]]>Hi, sorry for asking this before spending whole day with trying to figure out myself: what exactly DOES it?
Is this a Javascript implementation of a ftp client?
Or does it allow users to upload files via ftp and then send some info about he uploaded file – well, I do not understand why there is an upload button then in the screenshot?
Does this plugin watch upload directory and import the uploaded file into wordpress media library? That would be the functionality, that I am searching for…
Thank you very much for your attention!
Have a nice day!
I have installed the Easy FTP Upload 2.6 plug-in and successfully uploaded a file. As the name suggests, installation and setup was easy and the plug-in seems to work well. When I try and upload a second file using the same company and username however, a receive an error message saying “Could not access directory!” If I upload using a different username and company, the plug-in creates a new directory and uploads the file. This shouldn’t be the case, as a returning user would not want to make up a new company name each time they return to upload a file.
Also, is there any way to secure FTP access to certain users so that just anybody can’t happen upon the page and start filling up your FTP folder with junk?
Thanks,
David
