Recently the images in all my WordPress core photo galleries are showing with the lower part of images blurry. On cycling through galleries all is fine. I’m not sure if this is due to something in Firelight, or the recent update to WordPress 6.7. My setup is Gutenberg, Astra Pro and Spectra. If I remove the image captions, as I have done in the first gallery image, the image is sharp throughout.

I try to make the “group images per gallery” work again. It worked until some months ago (sorry, don’t know the version), but I do not manage to find any setting to get the any of the fancybox versions to group my images per gallery.

My settings are: (fancybox legacy – but the other 2 do not work either)
– Bilder automatisch gruppieren: “Alle in einer Galerie” –> all other settings here do also not work
– Sections: default.

I am using as galleries: Envira and Metaslider.

after clicking on an image
– lightbox opens, I can use both the arrow and the left/right button to scroll to the next image
– and scrolls not only beyond the actual gallery
– into the next gallery
As I have on each page the gallery “Picture of the Day” (a metaslider “gallery”) with some 150 images, it’s quite strange to see the lightbox scrolling also through this.

What do I have to do / set that fancybox scrolls / loops only through the images of one gallery?

Hello, I am receiving this console error: [Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () (purify.min.js.map, line 0)

I use Perfmatters to delay and defer java script, but even if I turn that off and uninstall the plugin, I still get this error. I am using FancyBox Classic Reloaded for linked images only.

I’m testing it with WordPress 6.7 RC1, WP_DEBUG enabled, and I get the following warning in the admin dashboard when enabling Firelight Lightbox

Recently FancyBox has stopped working for. On my site, in the header there is an envelope icon that when I use to press it would pop up inline content. Now, it is no longer working and in Google’s Console it is showing this error:

Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
at (index):1167:1

The plugin is updated and I have inline content enabled. For choose your lightbox I have “FancyBox Classic Reloaded” selected. I tried the other options too, but the issue remains.

Would you be opposed to helping me fix this?

Hi, I built a table with the plugin Tablesome. I’d like to use the Firelight plugin to open with a lightbox the images linked in the column “Picture”. So the user should click on the word “link” and the lightbox should open.

The problem is that it only works with the very first pictures, if I move to the 3rd or 4th page the lightbox doesn’t open anymore (+ I don’t see the fancybox image class in the html) and also if I go back to the first page of the table the lightbox doesn’t work also for the first images.

Any input? I also try to force Tablesome to put “fancybox image” class to all the URLs but it doesn’t work. I hope somebody can help, I love the plugin!

I updated my plugins and now this plugin is the only one not working afterwards. I have images placed in a page acting as thumbnails with them linked to YouTube videos. If I click on the images, nothing happens. They have popped up in lightboxes just fine for the last 4+ years with this plugin. I checked the Console and got this error:

Since the recent release of plugin ver. 2.3.4 a number of webpages broke, i.e. no images were displayed. The browser console showed a javascript error. Apparently, the recent code changes are not longer compatible for js minification through the plugin Autoptimize; even when enabling the option to use try / catch blocks in Autoptimize. Enabling the Fancybox plugin option “not to use wp_add_inline_script/style” did not help either.

As a quick workaround, I had to exclude all js code from wp-content/plugins/easy-fancybox/ from optimization through the Autoptimize, which works for me.

I’ve installed the plugin and I am happy so far with it, but there is one thing that I can’t get working.
When I click on an image, it pops up, but all the images are getting the size of 1020×680.
I already changed the settings within the Firelight Lightbox settings, but it doesn’t change. It doesn’t matter if I give in, for example, 100×100, 2000×2000 or anything else, the result is always the same.
The original image is 6000×4000 so that should be a problem.
What am I doing wrong?

I would like to create a modal popup using the inline feature. Since I have 3 modals in the page I would like to have an option to navigate between them once the first one is open – arrows right and left.
Similar to when images are opened in a light box.

Is this possible?

I’ve installed Version 2.3.3?of plugin with above mentioned settings but it’s not showing the video popup.

Nothing seems working. At first the youtube video was showing CORS issue but after few debuggings, now clicking on button is now getting redirected to youtube link.

Lightbox feature isn’t working and image is in classic editor.

The ‘Become a Member’ button pops up the form in the lightbox. It’s been there and working for years (since the plugin was listed as RavanH). The form itself does show but you cannot submit. The form is a Ninja Form (and I am also checking with them.) But I thought I’d check here too, since the form itself works fine if not in the lightbox.
Any ideas if something in the lightbox changed to ‘block’ form requests??

Our site is using NextGEN Gallery and fancybox for images and albums. I’ve implemented nav arrows so that when you click on an image, you can click ‘next’ and ‘previous’ buttons to see the image before or after the selected image. However, no matter how I’ve tried to set this in gallery and page settings, the navigation arrows don’t do what they should. Even on mobile they don’t swipe left or right either. Is there something I’m missing or an incompatibility issue I can’t see?

The plugin works on galeries, but don’t work on inline content.

I have used Your example to test:

But it don’t work.

Version 2.3.0 (free) appears to have a bug under certain conditions. When you press the Esc key to close the lightbox, the browser page freezes. You have to F5 to reload and unstick it. The X button on the lightbox (top-right) works fine. The problem appears to relate solely to the use of the Esc key.

This initially happened on a development environment (so not publicly-accessible): Windows 11 Home 23H2; Wampserver 3.3.6 (Apache 2.4.51, PHP 7.4.26); WordPress 6.6.1 (twentytwentytwo theme 1.7). I’ve updated the plugin twice, rolling back in between, and the problem has occurred on each occasion.

I have also updated our production environment: LiteSpeed (Apache 2.4.62, PHP 7.4.33); WordPress 6.6.1 (twentytwentytwo theme 1.7).

UPDATE: The specific issue is that the page vertical scrollbar disappears after the use of the Esc key. Buttons on the page can still be clicked etc.

Browser tests: Chrome 128.0.6613.85: fails on both dev & live instances; Microsoft Edge 128.0.2739.42 fails on dev but NOT on live.

Both instances have a custom CSS directive to force the scroll bar on – body {overflow-y: scroll !important;} – but removing this does not change the behaviour.

Since the latest update I can not longer disable fancybox on certain images. I tried adding the class “nolightbox” and “nofancybox” in the Additional CSS Classes but it does not work. Can you give us the css code to add add to our style sheet to turn off easy fancybox with those classes?

When I try adding it to the image through the html editor I get the “Attempt Block Recovery” message.

I have just updated to version 2.2.10 and suddenly my automated image change does not work in chrome or edge. However works fine in Mozilla and on iphone/ipad.

on the Iphone and the Ipad I observe the following problem: The space surrounding the image “scrollable”.
I cannot reproduce this in the Chrome developer tools. Everything works as expected.

Easy Fancybox version: Version 2.2.8, FancyBox V2, WordPress 6.6.1
Unfortunately, I can only test this on IOS, as I don’t have an Android device.

It seems that the lightbox when active will only display alt text, not captions or descriptions. I’ve switched Alt text off. Is there any filter or method to display captions in place of the alt text?

If an anchor element (<a>) is coded to function as something other than a link, it must have the correct ARIA widget role.

The image components on this page are coded as links but functions more appropriately as buttons.

Note: When these components are activated they expose a modal.

Remediation Recommendation

Native HTML elements should always be used if possible (eg. use <button> for button functionality).

If you must use an anchor element to function as a button, for example, add role=“button” to the element and then ensure it can be activated with the spacebar (in addition to the return/enter key)

For your consideration, since you’re already adding aria labels to the anchor links, could you also consider adding the button role, and possible an event listener for the space button as well to trigger the modal?

On windows 11 everything works fine. I just klik de link (pdf) and the document is visible in a box and “X” for closing it. On my ipad it works different. When I click the link a box is visible with the name of the link again. The “X” is visble. When I click the link in the box the pdf is opened but no “X” to close it and the user has to hit the “go back” button in the browser. This is not very user friendly. What can I do to solve this problem?

When I activate the plugin and go to the settings page (admin.php?page=firelight-settings), “My Custom Page” appears as the title. I found this to be set on line 164 in inc/class-easyfancybox-admin.php
By just changing it to “Easy Fancybox” I think it looks better. I just wanted to pass that detail on to you.
