I have been using this plugin for ages and today, for the first time in a long time I took the time to revisit the settings panel in my WP Dashboard and was automatically redirected to searchtoolz(dot)com/?folio=623509868&bkt=10461&gkwrf=http%3A%2F%2Feasyfacebooksharethumbnail.com%2Finfo.html

in esft.php I see you are building file paths using ABSPATH which causes a fatal issue on some installs.

Just use the provided plugin_dir_path() function to build your plugin path…

I’m using WordPress 3.9.2 with version 1.9.6 of Easy Facebook Share Thumbnail, unfortunately the plugin no longer works, its still showing on the dashboard for posts, I select an image, save it but its not saved correctly. I tried deactivating and reactivating – still doesn’t work.
Do you have a fix for this?

Hello everyone,

I want to start off by saying thank you for this plugin. It’s been real handy. However I have one small issue. When I activate the plugin, the page name of whatever page I’m on is seen on the top left hand corner of the webpage; For Example: “Welcome”/>” on the front page. It is almost hidden because of the background image but if you look closely you can see it. If it’s not possible to fix I can probably just live with it. This being my first wordpress site and all, I’m being a little bit of a perfectionist. Thank you for your time.

As you know, nowadays Facebook allows you to use bigger thumbnail images when sharing a post (click on this for an example of what I mean)

I love your plugin, but the only problem is that when I share a post on Facebook, it always makes the thumbnail very small like the old way.

Is there a way I can fix this so it always uses the bigger thumbnail?

Hello! Thank you for the plugin, it is working as promised, even though it is not exactly what I had in mind.

The idea I had in mind was that I would insert an image in my post, and that this plugin would automatically use this image as the thumbnail on Facebook. If several images are featured in the post, the first image would be chosen.
Would it be possible to add this function? ??

I’m seeing this error at the top of the plugin’s settings page.

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ”sfginc_fbthumbnails” at line 1]

Can your plugin help with this? Facebook seems to prefer choosing our static advert images instead of the featured image (which we set on every post). This is especially a problem when our posts are shared in comments and the share-er is not given a choice on which image to use.

I am trying to get a specific image to show when I link my home page url on facebook. The same 3 images keep popping up when I put the url in and I can’t get the one I want. It shows up when I link other pages but I need it to show up when I link the home page.

Hi – great plug in, I love it. However, for the last 10 days or so whenever I log into WP it shows that the Easy Facebook Share plug in needs to be updated. I do that but the update info (that 1 in the black circle) does not disappear. Ever. Furthermore, it shows the plug in twice in the plug in overview. When I try to delete one of them, both are gone. Deactiving, de-installing, re-activating and re-installing does not work. Is there a general issue?

I use my theme’s shortcodes for formatting my posts. The Easy Facebook Share Thumbnails plugin pulls in these shortcodes when generating the property=”og:description text. This looks bad.

It would be better if the plugin used the excerpt text as I don’t use shortcodes in that. It can be conditional; if there is excerpt text then use that, else use the post text.
