For anyone else stuck with the page not found error…
After you set the post type and create a community, you also need to create the properties that go in that community. This is referenced in the documentation, but it is missing the step to show how to create the property.
This is compounded by the fact that there is a separate “Properties” option on your left admin sidebar. You would assume all options are under “Communities” but you have to scroll down to locate the options for Properties.
After creating a property, assign it to a community using the metabox as explained in the documentation.
For my scenario, I had to create a set of categories at the community level. For example, I’m listing the Communities by Beachside, Condo, Custom, Single Family, etc. Then I’m assigning the individual properties within those communities.
With this approach, a property can show up in multiple communities, such as Condo and Beachside, or Single Family and Beachside.
We can set featured images at the Community level, but not the Property level. So when you open the “Beach” community (in my example) I see only a list of the properties – no associated images. That’s fine, but property images would be nicer.
Based upon the demo, I’m not sure if my approach is how the author intended. I have a layer between the “Our Communities” page and the final published property page that doesn’t exist in the demo.
Hope this helps!
]]>I tried setting up a few test communities, but the theme I’m using is winning agent pro, which has a communities plugin built in, and I’m also using that. I guess that’s where my problem is coming from. When I add communities and try to view them, it says the page isn’t found. Is there something I can change so that I can use all three of these plugins together? Community CPT allows you to change the name, which I have changed to subdivisions, but the winning agent built in community feature does not allow you to change the name.
]]>I’m using the Communities CPT plugin, but I needed an additional solution to add a different category of communities, so this will be used in combination with that plugin. Communities CPT automatically generates an archive page with all of my communities on it. Is there a way for this plugin to do this as well, or do I just need to create a new page and use the shortcode to display my communities?
]]>This plugin was all I needed. For months I try something like this and only now my search sessou. Thank you!
I’m creating sites for churches and needed a plugin to list all the temples attached to Central. And this plugin is perfect!
Perfect so I’ll double it to use it with other posttypes:
– Church Leaders
– Ministries
– Departments
– Etc.
However, I ask two things:
1 – The language file so that I can translate it into Portuguese. I can do this within the php file, but with the language file, I can give you update the plugin and later be extended to other countries.
2 – The second request may seem strange: I would like to have the option also to WIDGET in instead of generating short codes, create a widget with options. While it is possible to display on the sidebar, my intention is using and enjoying the plugin with the Page Builder SiteOrigin accepting Widgets as modules. That would be great.
