for Dropbox Full Backup?(files+database)?Version 1.6.1 whats the latest php Version it works with and has been tested with ?
I’m currently on WP 6.2.2 and php 7.4 and am trying to find out the php version limit of this plugin, I use the “Dropbox Full Backup?(files+database)?Version 1.6.1” version (not the pro just the free version) and use it to occasional trigger a backup after editing the website… and there is no link to website / no info about requirements in the plugin description….

]]>I’m helping a client restore an old site, they shared a dropbox folder with me containing a backup from this plugin. I found a link to the plugin itself in another thread in this support forum, I am able to install it and connect to dropbox inside the plugin (“Dropbox successfully connected: UID xxxxxx”) but I don’t see a way to restore.
The readme.txt inside the plugin zip says “If you are connected, you will see the list of all backups in your plugin. Click Restore button to recover the one you need.” I don’t see any list of backups.
If I go to the dropbox Apps folder there is a WPAdm subdir, and inside that a www_xyzclientsite_com and inside that several backup subdirectories like www_xyzclientsite_18_43 (and other numbers).
Any idea what I need to do to get my plugin (which is on an local MAMP install of WordPress 5.4.1 with no domain name) to see and restore the files on dropbox
]]>A week ago I lost part of my website, but was not concverned as I have been using your plugin to backup to my Dropbox account, which has been working well for over a year.
However, upon attempting a restore, I received the following error:
code: 403, text status: error, text: Forbidden
I immediately filled this in, but did not receive any feedback.
4 days later, I also sent a message via your WPADM support, but received nothing after another 2 days.
My website has been down for a week now, and this is now becoming a problem.
The backup files look fine.
So, does anyone know what this error means, and how I could resolve this?
Or do you know if this product is still supported?
Or do I need to upgrade to Pro to get support?
I need to restore my website and it is only backed up using this app, i need the plugin to be able to restore the site ( i had it working fine this morning)- can anyone give me a copy of the plugin to be able to reinstall it or tell me how to use the saved files to restore them another way?
]]>I have been SUCCESSFULLY using DropBox Backup for some time now.
Today, however, it has stopped working
I am now getting the following error message:
Local Backup wasn’t created: There is not enough script running time to perform backup operations, please increase the PHP variable max_execution_time.
Seeing as yesterday I deleted a lot of data (Two sub domains and several old “local Backups” AND upgraded to GrowBig I can’t understand why this problem should exist.
I did add several plug ins yesterday but have not acxtivated any of them
I reported this to SiteGround. Here is their response:
“”I recreated the issue and even though I optimized the process by selecting only the vital WordPress folders from within the wp-content directory it still failed on the step “Archiving of files”. Unfortunately, no error is being shown or recorded, so I was not able to find what is stopping the archiving process. I noticed however that if I select only the basic WordPress files without wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes the process completes successfully.
We cannot increase the value of max_execution_time, as it is limited to 120 seconds on all of our shared hosting servers. However giving the current case I believe the plugin enters into a loop, which is why it exceeds the max_execution_time.
What I could suggest here is that you re-install the plugin and try to create a local backup again. If the process fails please contact the plugins developers for more information, as they are well familiar with the plugin’s code and should be able to debug it and tell you exactly what is stopping the process. If the developers request any information from us or have any suggestions – contact us back at anytime.

I connected the WordPress Plugin “Dropbox Full Backup Pro” to Dropbox correctly, using the app-key and client-secret.
But when I want the plugin to upload the backup, I receive the error that the plugin is using the old API version (v1) that is not working anymore.
Dropbox Backup wasn’t created. Dropbox returned an error during file sending: “v1_retired”
Can you help me out how to solve this?

Hi, I was trying to replace the old website for https://goldcrestsecuritysystems.com/ and I accidentally deleted the WP site I created. I have a dropbox backup from the plugin, however now that I’ve regained the WP account, the actual new site is not back up. Is there a way to upload the dropbox backup to restore all the work I did? The dropbox plugin has been installed again, but the backups are not on the history panel since the site looks like it did at the beginning of the site-creation. I have the file saved to my Dropbox account and PC.

By the time you get this my problem will hopefully be solved by my site provider. Nevertheless for future reference how can one resolve the following issue.
During a restore from a local backup the process was stopped.
When I went back to my site I found that I had NOTHING. Not even the theme.
Obviously there was no Plug In to restore from my backups.
So, what is the process to restore from local and/or dropbox backups if one has a blank WordPress Site?

We recently bought a new domain, which we assigned on a new hosting (the one we need help with) as the old hosting and old domain are dead.
We firstly restored the most recent version of the website via xml file and the WordPress Importer to test it was working.
But an our Dropbox we do have an old backup of the old website that we would like to replace the one originated from the xml file i’ve mentioned above.
The Dropbox account is linked to your plugin but for some reasons, the plugin only see the backups on the Dropbox and public_html folder of the xml xml one………no sign of the plugin ‘seeing’ the old backup on Dropbox.
I was wondering if that requires us to manually change some config file or in the SQL database.
My fear is that the plugin is looking for the old domain but when it sees the new one it stops.
Can you help us with that, please?

Dear Backup and Restore Dropbox,
I recently had to reinstall and install WordPress on my website. I have several backups on Dropbox and I have not had any success in restoring any of them. The box where it says ‘Please wait… 0 sec.’ does not indicate any movement/activity. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I have a few questions to ask you:
1) I have a Multisite installation with 100 subsites in it (they are all subdomains under one domain). Unfortunately I chose a crappy hosting service (Lifetime.Hosting) and there is ONE subsite that I urgently need to move to another host right away. With your software can I choose to copy and migrate just ONE subsite to a new server?
2) Alternatively, will your software enable me to copy the primary domain AND all its subdomains and migrate the primary domain and ALL 100 of my subsites to a new server?
3) I paid someone on Fiverr to install licenses for Instabuilder 2.0 and Instabuilder 2.0 on the main site and ALL the subsites. Each subsite required a separate license installation, it wouldn’t work to just install one license for the network and then they’d all work. Will those two Instabuilder licenses copy over to the new location using your software, whether I move just ONE or ALL of them?
4) Can I copy one or more subsites over to a NEW domain on a different server, or must they still keep their original domain names?

]]>This is the first time I’ve needed to restore using this plugin and it doesn’t seem to be working correctly.
I began the restore process at least 12 hours ago, and it says it’s still restoring. Now my site is broken (the navigation menu is a disaster) and I can no longer log in to my admin dashboard (Error “Sorry you are not allowed to access this page”).
This entire experience has been a disaster, and there is no clear way for me to fix it. Searching the support forums is no help, as similar problems seem to have been fixed privately so no public guidance is available.
Please advise.

Our website went down a few months back, and we decided just to build a new website and transfer whatever pieces of the old content we needed once it was done. Unfortunately, our website person can’t get the backup file to work, as it keeps giving her errors. Since we don’t really want to restore anything and just want to bring some of the content forward from the old version of the site, I’m wondering if there’s a way we can just go into the January backup files and grab the copy directly from there.
Is that something we can do? If not, are there any other workarounds of the sort? Or should we just troubleshoot the restore process?

I am doing a local backup and this used to work. I have tried experimenting with the max time out settings to no avail.

We are in the process of creating a new website for our company. Since the old website (for ex en.abc.com) is still there my web admin created a new wordpress login ( for ex en1.abc.com) to work on and we created all the wp pages and site in this.
Now when we go back to en.abc.com, its shows all the dropbox back up and all. but when we restore nothing is restoring.. Its 1000 sec and counting.
(NOTE: THE BACKUP NAME START WITH EN1. But we tried it to back in the en1 site also, but its not restored)
