We really enjoy using this plugin, so upgraded to pro version. However, there was a bug in the ‘resend’ email and we’ve been waiting for support but we’ve had a poor response.
We had one email asking which PHP we were running and it’s now been over a month and still nothing. If we were ‘free’ customers I would understand to a point, but we paid for this plugin. Based on the customer service alone I would not recommend this plugin. Sorry, peeps but customer service is just as important as a working plugin!

Recently upgraded to 4.6 and needed an update. Had some trouble getting the plugin to update. Andy jumped on it and had a solution within a few hours. Perfect support for a PRO product!

We were supposed to go live today with our marketing campaign to send a link to this free download.

A couple weeks ago I noticed there was a bug where you couldn’t update a download after you created it. But, you could create a new one I emailed support, got a response with a question, and then never heard anything back after I answered.

Today I tried to create a new download. Error. It’s looking for a JS file that doesn’t exist. I thought maybe I need to just remove the free version plugin (out of desperation). Yep that deleted all my customizations.

I’m guessing that there’s some kind of conflict with the security that I’ve put in place, which implies that there’s some “hard coding” going on??? Maybe? Maybe not.

Needless to say we aren’t going to meet our goal and now I have to look for a new plugin.

The first time i Install the plugin works fine.. Now i try to make some test and the confirmation mail still didn’t arrive at my mail address after 30 minutes (and still don’t know if it will arrive).
That is no acceptable from users who want download something.

Where are explanations to setting the landing page???? Thanks to morrical13 to explain we have to put this shortcode [lab_landing_page] on landing page. Why have we to go to the support to understand this? It would be easy to add this information on the plugin page or on the upload settings. Pity because this plugin is very otherwise.

Misspelling in the free french version. So this makes an unclean impression to my clients (mail object “Votre téléchargelement gratuit à partir de ” … = big misspelling)

Premium version is working and support is reactive. The design is not perfect but ok.

Great plugin to offer free downloads to site visitors and to capture their contact info. It generated new leads for me on the first day. I offer 50 downloads through this plugin. Very easy to install. I upgraded to the premium version to integrate with MailChimp and to customize the emails.

I paid for a service that I did not get. These are just two of the many issues:
1) It doesn’t even work. The file doesn’t save, so people can sign up all they want and not get an email / download link. The most essential feature of this plugin – it’s very reason for existence – doesn’t work.
2) Less importantly, the creator can’t spell for anything. It even becomes hard to tell what s/he was trying to say at times.

Don’t use this plugin. Especially if you’re considering spending the $$$ for a pro version. It’s a huge disappointment.

Followed instructions on website page. Everything went great – until I tested it. Would not produce a link for my download no matter how many different things I tried.

I will not rate this plugin one star because it obviously works for some people, just not everyone.

Great plugin. The complete answer for my book and story promotions. I almost gave up on finding a plugin that ticked all my boxes. Free is good but get the pro version. It’s worth it and DOIFD deserves it.

Does exactly what it needed! I needed a plugin to gather emails upon download of a free resource. A link to the YouTube setup tutorial would be very helpfull for new users.

I’ve tried lots of add-on for email-then-download, but DOIFD is the best. Easy to use, friendly UI and UX. The only drawback is file size limited to 8MB and support few file types.

I’ve been looking around for ages for something like this and it ticks all the boxes. It would be nice if the settings page included a feature where you can easily edit the position, color and style of the submit button (many people simply do not have the time to learn the intracacies of CSS coding which is really for developers not end users).

Totally Awesome concept of a plugin.

It is a little confusing trying to actually get it all set up. Has a higher learning curve than what I originally anticipated. Missed the issue with the 2 shortcodes needed to set up the process and had to go back and work that out.

To make this plugin over the top, give MailChimp sync for free.

Unfortunately when I click on Settings all I get is “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” My research has found that this requires something to be done by the developer to fix the plugin?

Double Opt-In for Download (DOIFD) was perfect for an easy-to-use plug-in for my client to capture leads for free downloads without the hassle of adjusting for 0.00 or pricing. The double opt-in makes it easy to build a good list for future emails, since the premium version will automatically add the leads to your mailing lists at ESPs like MailChimp. When I ran into a problem with a new update, customer support was awesome and the issue resolved within hours.
