I’ve find a bug in DOIFD Plugin, when there are two forms to download two differents files in the same page, the “send” Buttom id and form id is the same in both.

The html of first download form is

<input name="doifd_download_form" id="doifd_download_form" value="Descargar Gratis!" type="submit">

and second download form is

<input name="doifd_download_form" id="doifd_download_form" value="Descargar Gratis!" type="submit">

and in forms id the same

<form id="doifd_form" action="/" method="POST">

and

<form id="doifd_form" action="/" method="POST">

is exactly the same id , and two forms div ids have differents names:

<div id="doifdDefault1">
<div id="doifdDefault2">

I know that we can set the download limit to a maximum of 10 times, but can I take this feature off, and make the downloads unlimited.

I recently installed your plugin and it’s fantastic. However I am having trouble: resizing description font in the form does not seem to work for me. I need to make it small as I use the description for terms and conditions before people subscribe to the mailing list.

It may be my theme causing problems. Is there an easy way I can edit your plugin so the text size overrides all other text styles on my site?

Hi Andy,

we really love this plugin and use for most of our downloads. However, the plugin fails at random? Some people manage to get the downloads, whilst quite a few others actually see the following error: not a valid verification number.

This is of course frustrating both to the end user and to us, because we’ll have to send them the download manually, which defects the whole scope of the plugin.

Can you guide us to resolving this problem?

If I have my site set up to use SendGrid for transactional emails, will the emails from this plugin go through SendGrid too?

Also, is it possible to customize the form, for example, add a field like “how did you discover our site” in addition to name and email?

Your plugin might be what I’m looking for as I use another permission marketing service, so I just need to collect a list that I can export and import into that service.

Hi there,

New install of DOIFD, the free version. I noticed in Chrome Inspector that my pages are showing a 404 for the following file:

wp-content/plugins/double-opt-in-for-download/public/assets/css/defaultFormStyles.css

Sure enough, when I look in that folder via ftp, it’s not there. Is there an old file reference somewhere, or did I unknowingly trigger an unwanted setting? I noticed when I tried to change some of the default form styles (from within the form options), the styles weren’t saved either. I ended up putting some overrides in my theme css instead.

Hi,

I’ve configured the plugin according to the tutorial, nothing special, just standard. Users register, and get include in the subscribers list, but they don’t get the email. administration email is also not being sent.

I also checked in the spam folder and checked that the return email address has the same domain as my site. Note that the contact formular of my page is sending emails perfectly. I’m using the divi theme.

I even checked the email traces in my cpanel. I can only see the emails being sent form the contact formular, and not from this plugin!

Is there anything I missed?

I love this plugin in general and it seems to do the job to a T which is why we invested in it and purchased the premium plugin.

That said however there are a few minor customisations I would like to make to the style of the form as well as remove the limit of downloads allowed per user (over and above the maximum 10 downloads permitted per user)

I’m not a developer and I would need the custom CSS code sent to me for the style of form we would like to see (it’s actually simpler in appearance to what the form currently is)

I sent a message with an image of how exactly we would like the form to appear but so far have not heard back from anyone. It’s been 2 working days.

Support needed urgently as I need to report back on developments to my boss.

I have saved my PDF doc in downloads and copied the shortcode to the page where I want the download to take place, however the link sent to the users inbox points to the landing page (where the shortcode is placed) not the link to the file download.

For some reason, it takes *FOREVER* to email the confirmation email (upwards of 20 minutes). Is this normal for the plugin, or do I have some sort of problem causing this?

DOIFD is set up to send a notification-of-download email to the address associated with the wordpress admin. Is it possible to manually change this to a different address, or to target the address of a different (non-admin) user?

I don’t mind getting my hands dirty in the code – just need to know what to look for and in which files.

Does DOIFD allow a unique download for every post opt-in it’s added to, or is it a static file for all opt-ins like most email providers offer?

Looking for a way to make podcast audio files require opt-in to download, and the audio file would be specific to that WordPress post.

Hi! I translated the plugin into Finnish and uploaded the .mo and .po files to \languages\(named them double-opt-in-for-download-fi_FI and tried also naming them just fi_FI. My site language is Finnish. The text remains in English. Do I need to change some other settings?

I’ve used this plugin for months without any problem. Thanks for that.
Right now, the plugin is desactivated, I did not do that, and when I try to reactivate there is the message :

I would like to upload an ePub file. I’ve added a snippet to functions.php so that I can upload these type of files into WordPress, but the plug-in does not let me upload such type of files.

Why shall it be a problem to upload ePub files if that would be the format typically used as a downloadable document?

How can I allow for these type of files to be uploaded though the plug-in?
