Really dont understand ppl, giving strenge ratings to this plugin….It’s a real timesaver ! (if you obviously know, what you are doing…) —> this plugin should be an “onboard-Wordpress-Tool”
I had some 15.000 attachments and tried to delete them with the onboard wordpress media manager….forget it! too slow! But not for DNUI….
Big thanx to the developer for such great plugin:)

They say: Image not used, you are delating it and… just you had lost images from your active pages. Shit.

I see people posting bad reviews because, in short, they didn’t bother to look what they were doing. You can set what you wan this plugin to delete under options. If you are not sure what an option does, then you shouldn’t be using the plugin. To give the review a shit rating because you didn’t pay attention is just unfair. Works for my main site and 5 subs, so it does what it says it does.

This plugin removed me images that were used. Fortunately I made a backup before, I hope I can put everything back in order!

Dont use it. Because this will delete your thumbnails. its check only images which is used in post content, not in _thumbnail. i use this plugin because i need to clean up disk space. i have over 11 thousand posts. over 6 thousand post i recently delete. so i need to delete all these images which was used on these 6 thousand post. its over 4 GB in size. so i could not take a backup. unfortunately all gone. all these 11 thousand posts now useless without thumbnail. so its totally mess for me. my work over months are wasted just for this fucking plugin.

The plugin works pretty good! you must search it in the tools menu in your dashboard!
Keep it live and give 5 stars for it!

It works! Recovered GBs for disk space from hosting account, save hosting account upgrade fee.
Amazing that it is still working even I set to scan 500 images each page (other plugins probably brings down the server already)
Thanks you for the plugin!

I installed the Pro version to work with WooCommerce. It made the challenge of identifying and removing hundreds of unused images very simple.

as advertised. Be careful, though, to examine the “Options” tab and choose to keep the original images, before proceed to deletion. Currently working on 6th page of 400++ pages of 8313 original image, and feel confident to continue.
I use the free version and all the images (except a few) are WordPress’ core featured images.
Some suggestions:
– under the “Options” tab, _ Show section, probably better use checkbox than dropdown select, with Original images are checked as the default. This is a safety procedure for some people who don’t bother to read carefully the warning.
– All checkboxes under Check All this checks can decrease performance section needs to be unchecked by default, again for the sake of people who don’t bother to read carefully the warning. In my case, I unchecked all these because I don’t have –or can bear with — images excerpt, post meta, galleries, etc, also not to bring too much load to the server (like other similar plugins do).

I installed and ran this – it said that 90% of images weren’t linked and could be deleted.
I took the first image name and used it in a google search image.jpg site:www.mysite.com and I found the image on the linked page.

An image optimizing plugin wasn’t cleaning up images when I deleted posts (imports). After splitting site into separate sites reimporting all on main site I saw I had about 25gb of images still in the main upload directory – which I could no longer see or get at.
DNUI found them all, I screened them, now there gone
Warning: If a plugin is used to import posts and images those most likely won’t be seen as “Used” and will show as “Not Used”

Plugin excepcional, fiquei surpreso com e eficiência dele.
Para que fique ainda melhor, teria que melhorar o consumo da CPU do host quando ele roda, pois utiliza 100% da memória.
Mas mesmo assim recomendo.

I just tried this on a copy of my site with ~3000 images. It deleted at least one image in use in a post, so I’m not going to use it on my live site! A tool like this needs to work reliably and I’m afraid it’s unusable until it does so. I hope the author can develop it further & iron out the bugs.

!!! never use this plugin you will loose all your pictures !!!

I’ve been blogging for a number of years under different names and recently did a massive rebranding and merged multiple sites into one, so I had a ridiculous amount of old posts and images and junk. I tried a whole bunch of plugins with little success and couldn’t figure out how to get all these dupes out of my media library before relaunch.
Anyway, had some trouble with initial load and the interface and instructions are a little buggy, but I was able to clear out about 5GBs of old images without messing up any posts or pages on my site, in about an hour. That’s priceless.

Debug error alert related to angular.js

Installed the plugin and received an error message. Enabled the debug option and tried again. Sadly, I received the error message again. I don’t tend to give negative reviews but this was a bit of a time-waster so thought I’d flag for future users.

I used this plugin on a site I was restoring after it had been hacked, a couple of years back. There were masses of images. This plugin saved a great deal of time. I’m writing this now as I have another job with requires this and first thing I do is check the negative comments, of which there are many. Most seem to come from people who did not follow the instructions, and I note that the author had often replied with an apology and “how can I make it better?”

It doesn’t work in my case. Or actually it works too well… it deletes images needed by my blog. No really damage caused because I backed up before but it’s not reliable.

After update v.2.5.3 all works fine.
I have an old website with more than 21GB of images.
After hard work of this plugin now I have only 3gb weight of my backup.
Thank’s a lot to the Plugin Author.
Наve a nice years of life.

The author doesn’t know the basics of user interface design. You click on Images, wait, then up comes a list of unused images, no mention of the actual number, no ability to select one or more, no control over pagination. In the case I’m looking at – 24 pages of x images per page. It’s a backup so I can test it. I click on the Delete All button, confirm … and absolutely bugger all happens, still have 24 pages of images. Then I do another search and it comes up with … no images but still pages 1-24 and Next.
So god knows what it has (or hasn’t) done. A complete and utter pile of shite.
… but it might just prompt me to dust off my coding skills with a view to cranking out something better than this.

I was migrating my site, and i sow that i have 2GB of image in the upload folder, i was surprised because my blog is not really that big, so i try this plugin and i reduce to only 400MB, a big difference! And all seem to work fine.
A really useful plugin, Thanks.

I was always searching for a plugin that would help me to delete all unused images in my blogs. This plugin does exactly what it says it will do. So far I have been able to save 10MB of space in one of my blogs and I am still going.
This can help you save a lot of space especially if you have more than 3 thousand images in your website and you are not using CDN services.
Thank you for this great plugin.
Well done ??

I never give my review of this plugin, but it’s time, this plugin is one of the better plugin for identify not used images, it’s truth that can be dangerous, but in the version 2.X was added a lots of new features to reduce the risk of delete used images. I sow the other plugin like this but lots of them are the old DNUI code, with a lots of bugs, and nothing new, they only changed some HTML code.
