It appears this plugin is responsible for the following issue (with WP 5.5.3):
A PHP session was created by a session_start() function call. This interferes with REST API and loopback requests. The session should be closed by session_write_close() before making any HTTP requests.

1. Is there a backend interface to this that is just for Admins? We do not need a front facing application. We want to manage documents in the backend vs. managing them in MEDIA LIBRARY.
2. Can I create unique URLs to each document via this plugin?
3. Is there versioning control?
Maybe this plugin is not the right fit for my needs but wanted to confirm before ruling it out.

]]>Installation appears to have worked and the DMS frame appears as expected on the relevant page. However, clicking on any of the controls in the frame (whether logged in or not) causes the frame to go completely blank.
It appears to be getting a blank response to an AJAX query. The server is running PHP 7.2 but the problem persists with PHP 5.6 as well which suggests that it isn’t a PHP 7.2 specific issue.

I have a group in Group Editor, “PBS Clients” with 14 users. It is now impossible to update the group as the update and exit buttons do not appear at the bottom of the All User List.
This problem doesn’t occur with other groups in the group editor. E.G. People Based Solutions Employees with 3 users the update and exit buttons appear at the bottom of the All User List , and new users can be added.

Hello Brian, first I really like this plug-in as it does most everything I expect a document manager to do. I’m not sure if you want to consider this a defect versus a change for a future release of DMS. What I noticed in the eMails that DMS sends when a folder has been updated is just the name of the current folder appears where the document was updated, instead of the full path of that folder. For example, I have a folder structure in DMS that looks like this:
Residences >> CLR_7093 >> Legal
If I place a document in the “Legal” folder, the eMail will look as follows:
The contents of a folder have changed:
Folder: Legal
Document: MX-3640N_20180222_130729.pdf
What I would have expected was the full path to the “Legal” Folder instead. So it should look like this:
Folder: Residences >> CLR_7093 >> Legal
Let me know if this is something that can be fixed in the future.

The fonts for folders and filenames don’t follow the theme fonts, they resemble times new roman. Is there a way to change the plugins fonts?

I am using DMPS Pro plug in to manage documents on my site.
With the arrival of GDPR in the UK and Europe, I want to be able to delete documents permanently from the site. At the moment, as I am the site admin, it shows the document or folder as struck out (there a line through the document or Folder), but I have the ability to restore the document or folder if I want.
I need to be able to permanently delete documents if I am required to do so.
Is there a way to do this?

Hello, from what I have read so far about DMS, I think it will do what I want but want to confirm a few things.
My site will have different types of documents that the user community can view, but I want the end user to click on different links to view a particular document. For example, there will be a link called “Meeting Minutes”. User clicks on that link and can view documents that are for meeting minutes.
My question is this…when configuring DMS, how should I group like documents together? Can DMS allow for the assignment of a category to each document so when the user makes that query for “Meeting Minutes”, only those docs display, or do the docs need to be placed in separate folders to do this type of query?
I did notice that someone posted a question creating links to a folder, and looks easy to do, but just wanted to see what is the best way to configure documents this way in DMS.

I am building a Intranet site for my company with WP. For document sharing I’m using this DMS plugin for document sharing. We are sharing documents like company policies. Is it possible to keep track on who opened certain documents?
This way we can see if our employees opened the company policies documents.
Does the Pro edition log this?
If DMS doesn’t log this, is there a plugin who can?
Hi – I’ve set up groups (in the group editor) and assigned edit rights to a folder that contains subfolders and files.
When I log in as a test user (who is in such a group), I only see the folders where the rights were explicitly assigned to that group. But the folder that should contain many subfolders and files is displayed as empty.
And yes, the option to inherit permissions from parent folder is checked.
That’s quite a set-back, and I hope that it’s just a minor config problem.

]]>Before purchasing the PRO version, I want to find out if the plugin provides the functionality I am looking for (for a client). After installation & config, all I have is an empty folder (see screenshot https://ovo.li/X9v7Wl).
1) I have configured the root folder of the existing files on the web server, which are outside of the WP path, i.e.,
/home/client-name/public_html/folder/WordPress 4.8-Installation
/home/client-name/file-folder/root-folder/
That root-folder contains several sub-folders, which again contain sub-folders and files.
2) I can create a folder and upload a file, but I cannot find that file via FTP anywhere.
3) Diagnostics confirms that the file root folder I’ve configured is available.
4) Permissions on this root-folder and all sub-folders is 0755. File permissions within the sub-folders are 0644.
Anything I missed?

]]>I’m investigating this plugin for a group I’m part of. We already have a WP website so that’s not an issue. We haven’t tried the free version yet but if we like it we’ll want the Pro version for the additional documents and the versioning, etc.
Here are my questions:
1) I assume all users must have a WP user login, right? I’m wondering how complex that’ll be for non-WP users. Do they get a special user level that only gives them access to DMS and nothing else?
2) Can we also FTP to bulk-upload files into a directory structure to get started? We have a ton of documents.
3) Is the Pro fee a one-time or annual fee? If annual does it reduce after the initial purchase?
4) Are there any file-type limitations? We will store jpgs and other graphic images in addition to Word & PDF.

I am looking at buying the pro license. Before I do, I have a question.
We have around 25,000 users and 25,000 documents.
Each document needs to be set to be only accessible to its respective user. And, vice versa, each user needs to only see and have access to the document(s) related to them.
Does DMS provide any way to configure permissions for this? For instance, can I set up the permissions linking each user with his/her document(s) in a CSV file and import that data? Or is there some other way of going about it, other than manually and one-by-one setting the permissions on a per file basis?

I have installed the plugin and am in the testing phase.
Unfortunately, the entire configuration dialogue is not showing when I select the configuration button.
It must be a conflict with the theme we are using or maybe a plugin. (I have tested it on the 2017 wordpress theme and it works fine so it must be a conflict)
Is there anyway of diagnosing or troubleshooting this issue? Could we get support to help us resolve this issue?
We like the plugin, just unable to configure it (we really need to set up the source folder,.. and the rest of the config options would be nice.)

We are using DMS plugin for development and looking for buying DMS pro.
We have documents created in nodejs that need to be uploaded to dms programmatically.
I followed a suggestion given in the forum to use ‘file_import’ url but the url shows up with errors complaining of global being undeclared.
Only after visiting the DMS enabled page in WordPress allows further posts.
This is an issue since we will use only a rest client to post.
Any clues/pointers please?
