There is a bug in the plugin code where

$comment_html_format is forcibly set to have target=_blank

This makes the code always ignore the target_blank setting.

Please change it to something like this:

 <span class="dsq-widget-comment">%8$s</span>

Is it OK to continue to use this plugin? Suggest please.

I would like to ask some help with an issue that I am not sure what it is and how can I solve. I have this plugin and Shareholic plugins installed. Those plugins do show up at my cell phone (using a private page), however, they do not show up at my browser, I did refresh the cache, used chrome and FF… .

I am not sure what to do and how to solve that. Any help is very welcome.

It better and very nice if the widget text it justify, but i don’t know where and what type to apply this “fix”.

In my website I start to use WPML, multilingual plugin. Then activating Disqus Recent Comments Widget plugin, it displays both comments submitted in 2 languages posts. And the newest version has no option to display separately.

Do you have any ideas to display separately? If you have, please tell me some codes to make it possible.

A user on my site commented under a post and Disqus showed the comment in the widget with an old version of the post’s title.
Can I update the post’s title in the widget?

This plugin came in very handy as javascript offered by Disqus does not wrap the link around recent comments.

Unfortunately, it no longer works.

I don’t think I messed up the CSS. Right now, when a comment is shorter than the minimum characters chosen, I am getting almost like a nested effect on the comments. (see link to image)

Is it something I did? Plus, how would I add just a touch more vertical space between comments/avatars?

Using ver1.2 of the plugin.

If I select Classic or HTML 5 I see the post title just fine. But if I select TightSpacing it shows the URL rather than the post Title.

Any thoughts on how to fix that?

I would like the bar to show only the last comment from each post: it happens quite frequently that a specific topic monopolise the discussion of the whole site, and I’d want to avoid it.

Hello.
I have Disqus comment system installed and Disqus “Recent Comments” plugin. Problem is: I’m ok with Disqus comments to appear on several pages of my site, but I want to use the recent comments plugin in a precise section of it (the blog), making it display just the comments of that page.
How can I do that?

In the disqus_params array, there is a key for category but it isn’t defined anywhere that I saw. I’ve defined it above api_key variable and set it to the category id value from the Disqus admin settings.

$api_key = get_option( 'disqus_rcw_api_key' );
...

Will this change cause any problems to your code and is it something you could add to a future release?

Hello everyone,

I’m using this plugin in my sidebar to show the latest comments from my blog. However, time to time, the widget is returning ‘No Recent Comments Found’ instead of showing the comments.

This behaviour seems to be totally aleatory for me. (1 wrong, 2 ok, 2 wrong, 6 ok, 3 wrong, …)

This happens in all the pages (index, single post,)

Any idea of what can be going wrong?

Whenever I attempt to activate this plugin on a multsite network that I have, I get the following message: “This plugin requires the Disqus comment system plugin to be installed and activated on your WordPress site”.

But now, at the place where the Recent comments from disqus widget should be, is this text: No Recent Comments Found

I’ve tried updating the API key, and uninstalling and then installing again. It worked again for a moment, but then it shows this text again> No Recent Comments Found

I’ve been trying to pinpoint the root cause of a delay on my site. my site is fast, I’ve eliminated a bunch of things on there and it’s on a hosting solution with cdn.

Despite my homepage loading up real fast ( using a couple of different sites to benchmark) one thing it didn’t measure, but that i could experience was when i click on any link on the page. it would delay about 6 seconds ( my mouse cursor would turn form an arrow to a spinning circle while it waited) and then load the page( and load it fast). I’ve used a bunch of plugins to make the site faster and i couldn’t figure out what was causing it and i check out another site that used the same theme and it didn’t have this problem. A systematic shutdown of all my plugins and reactivation and testing leads me to conclude that this plugin is causing the delay.

A pity. it was quite handy!

I’m running a wordpress multisite installation. Sadly this plugin won’t network activate. It gives me an error saying the disqus commenting system needs to be installed, which of course it is. Hope there’s a fix. Also, is there any hope of adding short code for those of us who wish to embed directly into a page as opposed to a sidebar? Thanks. (edit: just saw in another thread about possible short code in future versions.)
