Hi.
I would like to automatically import WordPress comments to Disqus. This can now only be done manually but I would like to run the import automatically once a day. How can I do that?
]]>I’m concerned that this plugin really is no good. The Disqus support forum does not appear to be active .. most are old issues from one to 7+ years ago. The Star Rating is awful. Most issues posted are not answered.
I use Disqus on several non-Wordpress sites, and have never had an issue … but I am thinking of using this plugin on a new WordPress site … but now I have reservations due to the issues I described above.
Since this plugin was just updated 5 days ago, and there are no issues in the support forum, does this mean the plugin is perfect now and behaving exactly as it’s supposed to? I’m very curious …
]]>Hella,
Is it possible to synchronise posts from my Facebook page? I would like to display Facebook posts under posts on my WordPress page.
]]>Hi,
Where is the option to remove that Also On section?
I don’t need it anyway as I have related content section.
Thanks
]]>For a few weeks now, I am having trouble getting the sync system work correctly at all with my Disqus. I have tried EVERYTHING for solutions. The sync says there is an error with the auto-sync and that’s all it says – I don’t know what error or why. I tried disabling EVERY other plugin to see if there’s a conflict, and the webhook page still shows 404 error. I tried downgrading to the plugin version 3.0.22 to see if that helps, and I still get a broken webhook page. There seems to be NO solution to this. Even when I use the manual importer on the Disqus page on WordPress, it imports up to 7 comments max then just stops and gets stuck in an endless loop and never goes further. I can’t even manually sync or import anything!! What is going on?! Why is this broken?? Anyone have any suggestions??
Everything was working fine earlier in 2023. I’m not exactly sure when or why it broke – sometime in the past few months. I have upgraded my WordPress to the latest 6.3.1 and the server is running nginx with stable versions. No other problems or errors in any part of the WordPress experience, but I just can’t get this Disqus sync to work correctly or fix itself or anything. No idea what to do now. I’m completely lost…
]]>I have a client that had auto-sync turned on for years – apparently it never worked, so I noticed that 5 years of comments are missing from the site, all comments are “closed” for some reason, and the auto-sync never worked. So I tried to manually sync, and nothing happened. Tried it twice.
Also cannot log in to Disqus anymore, all I see is an error message that ‘something went wrong’ on the Disqus website.
Obviously this plugin has been abandoned, it hasn’t been updated in 2 years / last 3 major WP core updates; I find it very irresponsible of the developers to not even inform the users here in the WP admin about their inability to maintain the plugin. A simple quick message would have saved a ton of people from major issues.
]]>Hey
I am right now creating a tutorial that includes the Disqus comment system. It says the plugin was updated 2 years ago, and I am also seeing a very low rating. Not a good intro to the official plugin.
When do you plan on updating? In general a plugin should be updated every 2-3 months.
Thanks.
]]>I imported my comments from WordPress, but now many posts show the same comment twice. I checked on the WordPress backend and only one of each comment exists. Only showing duplicates on both on Disqus admin and on my website Disqus comment box. Please see screenshot for example.
]]>The plugin hasn’t been updated in a year and only claims compatibility with WordPress 5.6.10 which is many version behind the currently release of WordPress. I’m concerned about the risks of continuing to use this plugin if there are no longer any compatibility checks being done with it.
]]>Hi,
I’m wondering: In the DISQUS settings I can set an API Secret Key (got that via DISQUS), but also a Site Secret Key. Are these identical and if not, where do I find the Site Secret Key?
Thank you,

The Newspaper theme is not working with Disqus, any solution?
I’m getting this error wen previewing

]]>A years ago I decided to get rid of comment.php file on my theme (I code it myself)
Instead I use one line of code in single.php theme file :-
<?php
?comment_form(array('comment_notes_after' => ''));
?> ?
after I enabled Disqus , and I opened an article on my website, Disqus weren’t shown at all.
when I tried default them e.g. twenty-sixteen it immediately shows up on that page.
Hi there,
Due to the addition of ads to the Disqus comments section, I want to remove Disqus from my website.
My first problem arose trying to manually sync comments (even keeping the timeframe to 1 month’s worth of comments at a time, would make the sync hang).
I’ve looked up info about this, and maybe it is a REST API issue.
That aside, I just want the Disqus comments section to no longer be displayed on my website.
I have deactivated the plugin, and when I view a post with a comment on it whilst I’m logged as admin, I will see no comment, but the native WP comments box (settings = can only comment when logged into an account).
However, if I view the same page whilst logged out (or incognito) the Disqus comments box and ads (and comment) are visible.
How is this possible if I have deactivated the Disqus plugin? Does it need to be deleted entirely?
Any help would be great, thank you!
]]>I inherited an old WP site, it’s a child theme. The Disqus plugin is installed and it displays on Pages instead of the WP comment template, but posts use the standard WP comments. I cannot for the life of me figure out why, the code for both is exactly the same (both have <?php comments_template( ”, true ); ?>). New pages can show Disqus just fine, but posts old and new only ever show the regular theme comment templates. This is true no matter what discussion settings I change in WP settings. I also can’t find anything in the Disqus account settings.
Is there a setting I’m missing where you can define where Disqus gets pulled in on your site? Is there a shortcode or something I can use in my page templates to bring in Disqus manually? Do I need to reinstall the plugin entirely?
We are a paying customer and would like to know when the plugin will be updated to support the latest version of WordPress.
Thanks
Regards
Ryan
]]>I use disqus on my sites. But in our countrу using symbols of facebook is out of law now. Is any options or any setting i can use to remove or change icons for login and share facebook in disqus plugin.
]]>For two days now, every comment on Disqus has been automatically ‘liked’ by fake women’s profiles, inviting you to click on a link to ‘game-hacks.online’, which then redirects to other random sex dating sites.
The ‘likes’ are automatic, even with comments being in moderation without posting!
Examples
I have seen the same behavior on other sites with Disqus, the same profiles giving likes to all comments.
Check this out as soon as possible!
]]>Mine doesn’t show any error message, but it’s not syncing!
When I try to make a manual sync, it fetches and starts doing and hangs on 10, 12, 20 comments
Hi,
I have some featured comments on different pages,
I noticed there’s no options to edit or delete them.
On my older comments,
I see the top right drop-down to delete or flag as inappropriate
I’m logged into my wp site as admin and my Disqus account.
What am I missing?
Any pointers appreciated.
]]>Apparently Disqus does not monitor or block the spam ads, I have a client that is a doctor and I noticed that the comments area is loaded with inappropriate and often disgusting ads showcasing women in a horrific way. We were all shocked when we looked at the site today.
If you are going to force these ads you better find a way to control them, don’t you think????
Geez.
]]>Hello, I would like to install disqus on my wordpress site but I get this error message every time! when I have to click on “install xxxx on your site”.
An error occurred while configuring your site. Make sure the Disqus plugin is installed and activated, and that your site is accessible to the public.
How do I fix it?
Thanks YoteKoon
]]>I have updated the Disqus for WordPress plugin in one of the WordPress applications and in the theme, I am using dsq_identifier_for_post($post)
function. This was working until I update the plugin, but with the latest version, I am getting
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function dsq_identifier_for_post()
How this can be fixed? Is there any alternate function to get the Disqus Identifier?
**WordPress** 5.8.1
**Disqus for WordPress Version** 3.0.22
**PHP** – 7.2.33
]]>We’re using the latest disqus plugin with wordpress 5.7.2.
We are currently facing high MySQL CPU usage when auto sync in the plugin is enabled. There are no REST API errors and plugin looks to be working fine however causing extreme high CPU which in result gets the site too low.
The plugin autosync feature is consuming about 1000% CPU (12 cores processor) with Auto-Sync feature enabled. Once we stop the autosync, the CPU is back to normal and site gets stable.
We are seeing alot proceseses like these:
| 982 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Sleep | 3 | | NULL | 0.000 |
| 983 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Query | 2 | Sending data | SELECT wp_site_comments.comment_ID FROM wp_site_comments INNER JOIN wp_site_commentmet | 0.000 |
| 984 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Sleep | 2 | | NULL | 0.000 |
| 985 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Query | 2 | Sending data | SELECT wp_site_comments.comment_ID FROM wp_site_comments INNER JOIN wp_site_commentmet | 0.000 |
| 986 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Sleep | 2 | | NULL | 0.000 |
| 987 | dummy | localhost | dummy | Query | 2 | Sending data | SELECT wp_site_comments.comment_ID FROM wp_site_comments INNER JOIN wp_site_commentmet | 0.000
Is there anything that we need to check to resolve this issue?
]]>I am trying to do a manual sync but it always freezes as it has only a few comments synced and never finishes syncing all of them.
Even selecting a short date range with few comments still doesn’t sync them completely.
What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance
Hi, the comment count js is not working after the latest update
]]>With the last update — 3.0.22 — the comment count shows 0 but there are plenty of comments which do show up in the comment section. I use comments_popup_link to load the comment count and it had been working perfectly fine until the last update.

]]>Hi there,
I recently tried to update my PHP and now I can’t login to my WordPress. I know now that its because 2 of the plugins are not updated and causing the problem but I can’t fix anything because I can’t log into it. The 2 plugins causing the problem are Royal slider and Disqus Comment system, which anyone can see because it says so at the top of my page https://www.timsnidermusic.com.
I’m not a computer person so I could really use some help ??
Best,
