I suppose Twitter had to eventually update their API, which inevitably means all other non-API plugins have died, this ones works well and is more like the Facebook app way of doing things.

Once I had my Twitter API, I was able to replace the old twitter feed on my home page in a matter of seconds with the one line of PHP provided.
I hope there will be more customization in the future, and also that the feed renews at a good rate, but so far this is an excellent solution.
