my jpgs are around 7mb, being compressed to 200kb by wordpress.
using this plugin I still find my pictures are still compressed to about 2mb by wordpress.
So I cannot say this plugin works properly unfortunately.
Please let me know if I am using the plugin wrong

I normally don’t rate plugins but felt it was necessary to warn others about wasting time and potentially encountering problems with this one. It sounds simple enough and is supposed to be very light weight. That may be true but the core function of this plugin is to prevent WordPress from applying the standard 10% compression to uploaded jpeg files. That not only didn’t happen but it actually increased the compression rate to 20%.
I would normally uninstall and leave it at that but I submitted a detailed ticket (with examples) and asked if there was anything that could be done. A week later and not even an acknowledgement.
The only reason I rated it 2 stars instead of just 1 is because it appears it works for some people.

This plugin simply works. and the developer provides quick support. there are no settings just activate and the default wp jpeg compression is disabled.

The plugin name is strange. JPEG always compresses your images. The plugin description doesn’t say what it does, and there is no way to change the compression level. There are better alternatives to this plugin I think. After figuring out what happens it seems that JPEG compression is set to 100, that is also a bit strange as 90-95% for example creates much smaller files which anyone hardly notices any difference even if you are a photographer.
