Enable comments – not works
Disabling – works Ok.

Using it on many many websites because it’s so easy to setup, no extra settings or similar. Just disable comments. Thanks!

All it does is hook into the admin to hide comments control, and stop pages from displaying comments….basically another layer of code that has to be loaded and run for every single requests.

An update added a new root-level menu item, which basically just serves to market other plugins irrelevant to me and my clients.
The plugin used to be lightweight and serve a single purpose.
I have since gone ahead and removed it from all sites, as I absolutely despise so drastic changes to plugins, keep is simple please.
Oh and, please don’t bother with your copy-paste response “it was requested by multiple persons” a quick search in the www.remarpro.com forums reveals that is a lie.

It still does a great job but since the last update it is located prominent with lots of adds in the admin’s main menu. It’s okay and reasonable when plugin developers try to earn money for their work. But for a ‘small tool’ like this it’s ways to bothersome for me in the root of the admin menu with the big, green coloured icon.
That’s why we’ve decided to move it from there to the old place by adding the following code to our custom plugin (or the theme’s functions.php).
/**
* Remove the RB Plugins menu (of Disable Comments RB) in the admin menu.
* and create a new submenu for this plugin in the settings menu.
*/
add_action( 'admin_menu', function() {
remove_menu_page('rb_plugins_settings');
$title = __('Disable Comments', 'disable-comments-rb');
add_submenu_page(
'options-general.php',
$title,
$title,
'manage_options',
'rb_disable_comments_settings',
array(Rbs_Disable_Comments::get_instance(), 'options')
);
}, 100 );

Moving the settings to the main menu was a bad idea, goodbye plugin.

This is a small plugin with a simple functionality that you can even do with functions.php. Since the last update they add a main navigation menu item. Not a great idea. From now on adding the functionality on our own.

I originally used the “Disable Comments” plugin. However, when it started spamming the WordPress dashboard with its notifications requesting to track data, I switched to “Disable Comments RB”, which was a huge improvement.
A little while back, “Disable Comments RB” added advertisements to their settings page. I continued to use it because most of my clients will never see that page, and I never visit it after setting up the plugin. However, now this plugin places a brightly colored icon in the main WordPress menu.
Why does a plugin with a total of one option (and an option you will likely never change) need a top-level menu item? And why brightly colored, so it stands out like a sore thumb?
…unless it is there to get people to click on it so they can see the ads on the settings page.

Plugin work well.
But after last release, i’ve removed plugin on about 100 wp installation, because i DON’T NEED another unuseful link in my dashboard sidebar…

Latest update (v1.0.14) introduces advertisments.
Moved from the Disable Comments plugin to this, to get rid of the ads.
I will be switching to a non-adware plugin again.
EDIT:
Updated from 2 stars to 1, since last update introduced yet another unwanted item, this time a root-level menu item.
Kind Regards
– Allan

Almost every site we build doesn’t have any need for visitor comments and this plugin makes the job nice and simple. Great stuff – thanks!
