I looked into this plugin’s code to see how it determines plugins under VCS and I saw options for it but didn’t see any code actually executing relevant to this setting (i.e. how directories were determined whether or not they have VCS).
]]>WP updates are messing my website around and I’m constantly having to fix issues.
We have now disabled auto updates of themes and plugin but it still says it will automatically update the security updates. I can see that it has just done one yesterday and it has stuffed something up ( I have no layby option in my checkout anymore).
Please advise how I can diable this once and for all.

I just got an email, stating that my site was updated to wordpress 3.8.2 automatically. Well, I got the same automatic email message for wordpress 3.8.1 and when I logged in, it wasn’t updated! But this this time, I logged in and it was automatically updated.
So, at least for me, this plugin doesn’t work for wordpress 3.8.2…

I installed this plugin some time back and have it set so it auto updates on:
Automatic Plugin Updates: Disabled
Automatic Theme Updates: Disabled
Automatic Translation Updates: Enabled
VCS Check: Enabled
Send Emails for: All Checked On except “Update Debug”
Any ideas???
Plugin stopped working – 2 sites (so far) using this plugin both got automatically updated from 3.8 to 3.8.1
Both plugins set to disable ALL automatic updates
Maybe WP changed the update hook in 3.8? – they seem determined to force this auto updating on us ??
Your original version before this upgrade actually showed the “Fail” in the background update tester plugin from WordPress. All are now showing “Pass” so how do I know the plugin is in fact, blocking the updates?
