Plugin seems to be broken, it says it has no write access to the /wp-config.php – but in fact it has!
Original message:
The Dev Staging Environment plugin is not installed correctly. Please ensure the web server has read and write access to the /wp-config.php file and click here to reinstall the plugin
Also in the config dialog in HOST text box this is printed:
Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /DATA/WORDPRESS/wp_sandbox/wp-content/plugins/dev-and-staging-environment/dev-staging-plugin.php on line 160
More over there is no additional hint what to do or how to use this plugin. I will test more, but seems like an update is neccessary anyway…
Hi, this looks pretty interesting, however it would be really helpful and maybe push your user count if you would put a little bit more effort into documentation – here are some not answered questions:
Of course I can study the source, but it would be however really helpful to read some more about what the plugin provides *before* spending lots of time with reading and understanding the source and eventually realizing that this plugin is not what I need – this kind of saved time could be put into nice charity projects like helping children or removing bad governments from this planet!
I also found this plugin:

would you like to explain, what are the differences in the approach yuo are taking? Thanks!
Thank you very much for your attention!

Not sure if it’s the version of WP causing this but here’s my case. I did everything in the instructions and the plugin can’t activate giving this error:
The Dev Staging Environment plugin is not installed correctly. Please ensure the web server has read and write access to the /wp-config.php file and click here to reinstall the plugin
I’ve given 666 permissions to both wp-config and the plugin folder with no luck. Also tried 777 though I knew it wouldn’t make a difference.
Any ideas?
I’m trying to use this plugin but I’m not a developer and so have no idea what it means when it says: “Please ensure that your web application has both read and write privileges on the wp-config.php file in the WordPress root, as well as read and write privileges to the plugin folder.”
How do I do this? I installed WordPress through Dreamhost and almost never use FTP and have no idea what to do with a config file. I just barely was able to figure out my database name!
Can you explain exactly how to finish installing this plugin? Thanks very much.
