Most misleading plugin I’ve ever installed. Even with the updated title of “WP Markdown Editor” the base functionality only enables a “dark mode” theme. The actual markdown editor is a premium only option.
Can’t believe this app is allowed on WP with this title.

The editor is still nuclear bright white and there is no option to switch it to a neat dark theme – even though it is stated in the description and shown in the video. Please: Fix this or state it in the first paragraph of the description. A dark theme, that is #FFF white, is really… wrong. Tested in Firefox on FreeBSD.

I needed a plugin that supports Markdown in the editor. This seems to have a number of different features, but the only one that I can’t use without upgrading is the title Markdown feature. Bait and switch.

The plugin markets itself as a markdown editor, with additional features such as dark mode. The problem is, the core part of the plugin, the markdown editor is paid! Just use the other free markdown plugins at that point.

Misleading name. This is JUST the dark mode with an option to purchase an editor to allow Markdown editing. You are better of with the WP Githuber MD plugin.

The plugin is advertised on wp.org as having a markdown editor -in fact, the entire description on wp.org talks about that specific feature-, but that’s only available as a paid feature.

I had to register an account just to express my disapointment. Obviously I downloaded this to get a markdown editor. Why else would you download something called ”WP Markdown editor”? But the only thing it does is make everything dark for some reason. It does not give you a markdown editor unless you pay money for it. The name should be ”Make everything dark and pay me money if you want a markdown editor”.

I have installed and activated this plug in.. The dark mode is working in the admin but that’s all.
Everything pertaining to using markup within posts or pages is not working at all.
The command for edit in markdown is missing from the Admin > Pages
There are no themes when editing pages or posts.
There is no switch to MD while editing a post or page..
And Why have the creators overloaded the one plugin to include dark theme for the admin console as well as a markdown feature that doesn’t even work??
Looking for an alternative.

I liked this plugin back then when it was just called Dark Mode. It used to be a small and effective extension and did what it was expected to do.
I wouldn’t care if someone took it over or the original authors decided to take a new direction, but along with all the bloat it’s getting, it is also becoming increasingly obtrusive. It’s now throwing popups and reminders all over the place, and if it wasn’t enough they started to periodically spam your mailbox with the same meaningless messages. No other extension does this and I’ve tried a few.
So here’s my rating. I appreciate all your hard work guys but you are just being too much lately. There’s plenty of competition for this plugin and they are right now what Dark Mode was a couple years ago. I switched to one of them and I’m not looking back. You might want to reconsider your marketing strategy or whatever you call it.

These jerks should be ashamed. This used to be a plugin that just provided a dark mode in the wp-admin screens. Just a different color scheme for the admin screens and nothing else. No random Markdown features, no weird UI for the settings screen. It wasn’t perfect but it was a pretty decent theme, it worked alright, and I thought there was even discussion of using some of the work in core for a future dark mode.
With a sneaky recent update, this plugin transformed into a monstrosity that doesn’t even work. I don’t need a Markdown editor and I don’t want this mess with a terrible UI on any of my sites. When authors sell their plugin to some hack like this and it’s completely changed into a mess like this, the account should be terminated and the plugin should be removed from the repository.

It stopped working when they put the annoying ads to be an affiliate on every page. I don’t sell crap, sorry. It is now so bad I don’t even want to post anymore. They did not respond to me either. All I want is a dark screen. None of the other stuff. And it gives me a white screen.

nowadays you should know that you have ONE chance. One have to be able to install a plugin and it has to work. This plugin does NOT work on two different wordpress instances. the display of the plugin is darkmode although darkmode was not activated. so you can read almost nothing. then you try to create a new post, activate the markdown mode and publish the post. the display of the post is simply said unusable. the plugin does not interpret markdown. i hope i have not caught a virus by installing this plugin!!!

Used to be a simple plugin that did one thing great, enabling dark mode in backend, which is not anymore (only) dark mode.
I will simply uninstall everywhere I had it for “Dark Mode for WP Dashboard”
Also note that this plugin was a “Feature Plugin” for the WordPress Dark Mode feature, which is a shame..
