I built an email-thingy myself and it works fine. Get a free email-icon or built one yourself and upload it as a .png in the right size. Chose “Email” or “Other” in the Cute Profile Social icons menue, then fill in the form: First box: “Email” (or it already says so), then the image URL and then maito:[email protected].
I like Cute Profiles and used the old version on an older website. I had no trouble uploading it as I have a new theme anyway and deleted th old version long ago.
What I disliked is that there is apparently no way to reset anything, once you made a mistake or got something wrong, you can only overwrite it. There is also apparently no way to get back to a default version. Even when I deleted the plugin and uploadet it again it kept the old mistakes I had made trying to figure out how to fill in the options menue.
I just updated to versions 1.2 (in WP 3.8.1)
After the update, the icons are gone from the website. In the settings I found that you now have to select where you want them to be displayed and the default is disabled. With an update you should have them enabled by default. Anyway, after enabling these options, I get the following error in both WP admin and on the site itself:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in //wp-content/plugins/cute-profiles/settings/settings.php on line 292
So all I could do is revert the update.
On the wordpress plugin page the following links point to not existing pages:
Plugin home page: https://keencodes.com/cute-profiles
Plugin support: https://keencodes.com/support/
So I don’t know if I should still trust this plugin and author, also because this is the second time around an update to this plugin breaks your website.
Thanks
JP
Loading the sprite.png (where the images are) killed my page speed. Added a whole second to my page load times. Absolutely unacceptable.
Shame, I really liked it otherwise. Thought I found a solution to save sidebar space.
Great application field with all sorts of possible links and icons – but amazingly you are missing email! Def need to add an email icon so we can add a mailto: field (or use our feedburner email subscription link). Once you add this – the app will be perfect!
