]]>Hi,
I have been trying to copy the customizer settings from a parent “astral” theme to “astral-child”. The export from the parent seems to go OK but when I try to import to the child I get the following message:
“ERROR importing settings! The settings you uploaded are not for the current theme.”
The steps I use are as follows: 1) with the customized parent theme activated, I export the customizer settings using Customezer Reset – Import & Export 2) activate the child theme which has no customization, 3) attempt to use CRI&E to import the settings from the parent. I am able to select the json file exported in step 1) and confirm that I will overwrite any existing customization. After pressing OK, the error quoted above is displayed. Upon pressing OK, the interface displays the unaltered child theme.
Am I missing something? Also, I cannot post a url to the site because it is hosted on my development server which is not publicly accessible.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Doug
]]>I messed up. I started making final edits and everything on the child theme to run my blog instead of parent… now I’m thinking welp. I need to either or… what’s the best way to do this? I was suggested to use this plugin but its not clear how to export contents so that I can finally activate my parent theme or would it better if i move all the parent theme contents to child. Not sure if that makes sense. .. My site is doing fine but it won’t be in long run if i add other things i think it needs parent theme to fully function.
]]>I exported the settings before and after reset to find the files were identical, plus, of course nothing on the site changed despite having made many customizations.
]]>Hey… Been using a similar plugin from the guys behind beaver builder, but it’s seems abandoned.
This one – Customizer Reset – Export & Import – has it been build with WordPress multi sites in mind?
