Please Update Custom Post Type Maker Plugin. Vulnerability catching up

I have created two taxonomies for posts, and I intend to display them beside the post’s metadata. Which function(s) should I use to get the values of the posts’ taxonomies, if the post has any?

Hello, I created a Custom Post type called “Teaser” and enabled admin UI, which works finde for me.

Is it also possible to show a dropdown to filter all posts of this type by “author”, like changing the query to “https://www.xyz.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=teaser&author=1347” after selection?

However my file system is now littered with 16×16 versions of every image I upload. I understand you allow assigning an image to a Post Type, but why does that require you to do this to media that has nothing to do with Post Types?

I really don’t want to have to install another plugin to stop this plugin from doing something that I never expected this plugin to do.

I use CPTM for a client, and they have several custom post types. One of those post types — Staff — has disappeared from the admin menu, after having been there for the past three years. According to the client, “it was there one day and gone the next”. The client and I both have Administrator accounts on the site, but the Staff link appears for me and not for her. I confirmed this by using the User Switching plugin to view the back end under her account.

To complicated matters, the admin link to Custom Post Type Maker is missing for me as well, so I can’t even go look at that to see if something in that post type setting went wrong.

All of the other custom post types created are still showing up in the menu.

The CPTM plug and core are both running the current versions. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Small issue using this plugin. When authoring a new post within this CPT, the field for the associated custom taxonomy does not allow the admin to pick from “choose from the most used categories”.

(you can see the existing post categories in the window behind, but they cannot be accessed from making a new post)

Each time I upload an image to the media folder, there’s a thumbnail generated with a 16×16 addition to the filename. The only location it’s coming from is the class-cptm.php. I thought the thumbnail was only for the admin-area?

I’m about to upload 60.000+ posts + images (yup… a lot!) and not really keen on adding another 60.000+ thumbnails I don’t use. I’ve disabled the function in the .php file so it doesn’t do that anymore (one thumbnail for the admin is enough ?? so I’m good for now but maybe something to consider in a next update that the thumbnail is only generated for the image selected as Icon and not for every image uploaded?

I liked your plugin, at least in WordPress 5.5.x it works. I am going to use the plugin in a new project for a client. But I am confused and even stopped by the question – will this plugin be supported by the author in the future?

I see in the description of the plugin that the last update of the plugin was about 5 months ago and it also states that it is tested to WP 5.5.4. I also noticed an issue on the plugin page on Github stating some compatibility issues with Elementor Pro.

It is important to me that this plugin can work with newer versions of WordPress (5.7.x, future 5.8, and so on) and at least Elementor, as I am creating a project that will be used by a client for several years.

However, how can I delete / disable the plugin if I no longer need to create any new Custom Post Types?

When I disable the plugin, the custom post type that I created using the plugin disappears.

I created a taxonomy and associated it with posts and pages. However, I neither see it in the admin UI to add elements to it, nor is it available when creating new pages.

Am I missing something in the use case for adding taxonomies ? Or perhaps taxonomies only works with custom post types created by this plugin?

Question: I have created a CPT called Media. Now I added some categories, but I can not get them to show my CPT. When I add a category to a normal post it works.

I have googled what to do to pre_get_post filter but it just won’t work

I’ve tried to set Custom Rewrite Slug to other, then resaved permalinks too, but still doesnt work..
the only way to change the custom post-type base “Custom Rewrite Slug”, is to change the “Custom Post Type Name” (the first top field) only.

So, i think there might be an issue.

(to say example, if i want to have a cpt with name “entry”, but set “Custom Rewrite Slug” to “entries”, the post still publishes with:

example.com/entry/post-name
instead of
example.com/entries/post-name

When a new custom post type is created, the choosed Singular Name (A singular descriptive name for the post type. e.g. Movie) is saved in the database, but is not retrieved again after saving, so the form field becomes blank. This means that, if the user is not careful about this, after the next saving the original Singular Name is rewritted (deleted) because of the blank Singular Name field.

I just updated to version 1.1.7 and it broke all the links to my custom posts throughout my site. Luckily I was able to revert to 1.1.6 using Updraft Plus, but it kind of freaked me out.

I didn’t get a chance to explore what had really broken, but the error was that instead of looking for the link mysite.com/custom-post-type-name/custom-post the links were just mysite.com/custom-post, which of course generated 404 errors.

I have put a search section where we can search for a name. However, when you enter in a name that should be on the page it doesn’t appear. I have the “Exclude from Search” set to FALSE so how can I get these posts created from your plugin to appear when searched? It does NOT appear to be working when viewed on a mobile.

Just wondering if the plugin is still being updated?

I have an issue where I’ve created a custom post type for Properties and several taxonomies, one called Property Types. As can be seen in the following screen grab: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vpca1c4s1kolfd6/Property_Types.png?dl=0 I have a Property Type called High Street Shops & small Format Retail Units – weirdly in this taxonomy I do not have the option to delete/edit etc the ones in grey – would anyone know why? And if there is a way to delete them in the code somewhere?

Finally, if the plugin is not being supported, is there a way to export taxonomies and custom post types? and any software that will allow them to be imported?

Hi, when I create a custom post I have to choose a category to obtain a archive page with all post from this category.

eg:
https://www.website.com/?taxonomy=cours_category&term=conferences

But how to have an archive page with all post of a taxonomy ?
When I tried :

https://www.website.com/?taxonomy=cours_category

or

https://www.website.com/?taxonomy=cours_category&term=all

that doesn’t work.

I entered the data in the sidebar but in frontend I do not see anything, I only see the basic wordpress tags, what should you do to see the fields created?

I’ve created a custom post type “xyz”. Did this plugin automatically generate a “single-xyz.php”, copying the “single.php” as I used it as the source for this CPT? Where is it ?? Is it somewhere, do I need to create it? Where do I put it?

Please don’t reference the Codex, just tell me. Pleaseeee.

Hi! Is there a way to make this use the “page” -template instead of the “post” -template. I’m not sure if I explain this correctly but I would just like for the new post type I have created to be a page and not a post.

Hi this seems to be a great basic plugin. However it might be lacking some documentation.

I would like to add the date elements to my Custom Rewrite Slug area for my new Custom Post based on Posts.

I have a permalink structure for posts that use /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

However when I add those variables to the Custom Rewrite Slug field they are output as literal text.

Using trial and error I was able to get my /sample/category/title-of-item working for the post structure – which would be fie – except i’d like to add the dats as well.

I’m surprised other people haven’t asked for this as well.

Everything is working great with one issue – When I created and edit my CPTs, I am not able to access the list of taxonomies I created via the “Choose from most used Categories” section. Clicking the link to reveal the list instead displays a null “0”
